  1. Not Belconnen. What really surprised me is that they are an AAMI recommended repairer. That's what completely astounded me, forget to say it. If it's against the rules to say that, someone let me know and I'll edit this.
  2. To skip my b1tchin' and get to the fun part, see page 2! I was *supposed* to have my car repaired and detailed in time for marquees in the park after being rear ended at low speed in an intersection. The rear bumper was bent in in the middle, and jutting out on both sides where it met the rear quarters, paint cracked. It looked like a relatively simple job and I figured could only take 4-5 days. They rang back on the 4th day to say their painter painted the bumper the wrong colour and they needed to redo it. I expect they just got the paint code and just painted it without taking 10 years of fading into account. Anyway, they rang two days ago to say they were done. Great! Just in time for the detailing the next day. Rocked up with GF. First words out of GF's mouth were "when are they starting on it?" cos it literally looked like the day I dropped it off. Bumper in nearly the exact spot it was when I left it with them. Right hand side hanging a full centimetre out from the rear quarter, left hand side hanging out 5mm off. Centre section which says "skyline" not attached properly, and when they pressed it into place in front of me and said "there ya go!" it wasn't even remotely close to sitting straight (about 7mm up on one side). Where the bumper normally "bumps" out a an angle, there were what looked like air pockets like when a 7 year old kid tries to cover their school books with contact for themselves the very first time. And across the whole back of the bumper there was a similar effect to what you get if the same kid sprinkled dirt across the top of the book, then covered it. I don't know what blind monkey inspected the "finished work" but I can't believe they even had the gaul to ring me in the first place. What's more, they started going on about how it'll never line up 100% straight compared to how it started yada yada yada and all this BS. I'm not letting this go. Insurer seems good about it so far, said their satisfaction warranty overrides any warranty given by the repairer. The chick on reception said that the painter was fired over this work. It's not like they've got 100 other things on at the same time, they just have to get it looking right, and when a non-car person like my gf can tell from 10 metres away that it aint right, that's a JOKE. If you wanna know who it was, PM me.
  3. I met a stupid cow today: Was about to proceed slowly into a clear T intersection in Page today when suddenly I see a light blue flash blast past me doing ~90kph (in a 60 zone). My brain only just registered that it was a Barina before it was past. And I thought it was some old biddy. Being a male driver between 25-30yo, in the demographic that's supposed to be the worst drivers, I was so annoyed to see some old lady driving like that, so I followed her into Belco. When she pulled up, I went next to her, did the 'wind down your window' sign and said "Did you know you were doing 90k's in a 60? It's ppl like you giving ppl like me a bad name!!" and she just rolled her eyes and continued parking like I wasn't even there. I hope you do that again, travelling 1.5 times the speed limit, when the speed van is there one day (and they are often there). That will teach you, you stupid B*TCH. I know vigilante rousing/telling-off is a bad idea, but I was so annoyed, and I drove away and parked somewhere else. And I wasn't in my car anyway. GRRRRR.
  4. Hmmm. I realise the chinese ones may not be crash hot compared to any of the big name ones. Was wondering about the difference between Trust and HPI. I didn't realise Trust did a tube and fin Type M kit, I'll try to get that one. Thanks guys
  5. OK... how about educated guesses?
  6. Has anyone here got enough experience to unequivocally say that I won't feel the difference between a Trust M bar and plate intercooler compared to an HPI tube and fin model? I'm using the Hypertune piping kit and can choose my core. They said the Trust M will fit fine, but if the HPI will give less pressure loss and/or minimise lag better, I'd prefer it. They can't confirm whether it will fit or not, but said "it should." I'm hoping for a definite answer on here. JustJap didn't wanna measure anything up for me and said they're all the same and that the HPI one is just shinier :| But I'm pretty sure the Trust M is bar n plate and the HPI is tube/fin (or even hybrid), which I like better in principle. I need to be sure the HPI one will fit if I decide on it. It LOOKS very very similar in shape and position of the in/outlet tanks, but I'm not sure on dimensions, and don't wanna risk wasting the money/having to resell, since Hypertune will do a good number on the core + pipes if I get the Trust core from them same time as the pipe kit. Setup = R33 GTST, PFC + built in boost controller, 3" turbo back, Splitfires, and several "boring" parts of the engine replaced through wear and tear. Will be getting new pump and other suppors at the same time which are all decided, but this INTERCOOLER choice is the last decision I need to make before dropping the dosh. Does anyone know for sure if the HPI will FIT, and/or if it will give noticeably less lag or perform better in any way, shape or form? I want this core to be good for if/when I upgrade the turbo later, so don't want to cheap out at this stage, esp since its like $100-150 difference. I searched, if there's an answer on here please direct me to the thread
  7. Good call! (excuse the pun). Trojan are reasonable priced and what's more, will LOOK AFTER YOU NO MATTER WHAT. Anyone I know who has taken there car there will only trust it with them henceforth.
  8. People who base their decision on when to proceed at an intersection without looking to see if the car directly in front of them is proceeding! GRRRRRRR
  9. Yeah I went. I'm OK, GF is sore and is getting an xray Wednesday Turns out my boots bent too.
  10. Yeah insurance said it'll be covered and no excess etc but I've had so much poo happen with this car over the past year that I really didn't need this. Also worried about my neck, I don't *think* I feel anything bad right now, had a minor twinge like you'd expect from a jolt, but I hear bad stuff can crop up weeks later. Gonna get checked out.
  11. Well due to my usual luck, I think you better scrub my name from the list - got rear-ended by some d34d5h1t yesterday Rear bumper all pushed in and the bootlid hangs over it bucktooth style now. Rear right guard also not lining up right and scuffs of paint gone. Detailing will have to wait, and I doubt it'll be repaired in time. *sigh*
  12. Metalcat $450 for a 3" one including fitting. I've gotten slightly better economy too (the cat was the only change I've made in a long while). Also sounds better than the (stock?) cat that was on there. I'm surprised it had any effect on the sound actually! Ballsier.
  13. Take it to a mechanic knowledgeable with Skylines. Unless you're mechanically inclined, he will be able to sort out the issue quicker than any number of posts on here and you randomly poking around could achieve. m2c.
  14. I had a Metalcat installed (3") about 3 weeks ago and have noticed a bit of sluggishness the last week. I also just got 250kms out of 3/4 of a tank when usually I'll do 300km on that amount of fuel (car is dead stock power wise except for turbo back exhaust). After reading this thread, I'll keep a very close eye on this!
  15. I just saw several ppl say they loved their work on here, and they said they have 3 summernats finalists or something, so that also sounded impressive. I'm just getting some small/dings scuffs painted over and overall buff. I think Details FX is near the Shell servo, maybe there's more than one near there though.
  16. Other night: white R32 near Gungahlin Bodyworks This morning: Red R34 pulling out of Turner onto Barry Drive, was right beside them but no reaction ~40yo lady driving a silver R33 GTST turning off Corranderck (sp?) towards CIT in Reid, temp wheel front right (bummer!)
  17. Holy Carp, what do you do to own the cars you do at that age? ^^^ OP: Very nice Given free reign, that's exactly the car I would buy. Yeah chuck on an exhaust, but plan thoroughly if you're gonna mod it
  18. Nismoid brings up and interesting point. I'd say it's very heavily dependant on the setup of the turbo - if it kicks very hard when it hits boost then of course it'll be useless/crazy on the street, but something with a relatively smooth/linear curve would be much more manageable and easier to drive... But more along the lines of R33GOD's post, I wonder: 1) If you take a stock R33 GTST and do NOTHING to it but give it more power and the drivetrain to handle it, how much power is "good/manageable" on the street? 2) If you completely redo the suspension, how does that affect the maximum "manageable" power? I suspect it'd only a narrow range maybe 50kw difference between "nice" and "too much" between a thoroughly modded GTST and one with just engine modds. I ask because I'm coming from completely the opposite direction: everything except power has been done: handling/tyres/brakes (well pads anyway), cooling system soon, THEN power.
  19. I use a premix. Why do you put any water in?
  20. Is it missing at idle or is there hesitation (or actual misfiring) in the low revs when accelerating? More info.
  21. For once I'm prepared! All booked in with Details FX
  22. Yeah but the turbo Supras are still pretty expensive (I'm guessing mostly because twin turbo) and all but 1-2 guys on our dyno day were running (comparatively) mildly modded single turbo cars to what you've just described. Of course, if you got a GTR and had a few mates and lucky timing like you had, one could make the thing fly too
  23. My mechanic has been fitting Walbros for years and has some R33s using them and 300rwkw.
