  1. I got coilpacks from there for half retail. 3 days shipping and good communication. Would recommend!
  2. Myself and two other 'lines in a brief mini convoy down Ginninderra Drive this evening about 5.30pm. There was what I think was a black/deep purple R32, a similarly coloured debadged R33 behind him, and me bringing up the rear in my silver R33. The R32 turned right towards McKellar and the guy behind him continued down Gin. Didn't get more details than that though...
  3. Oh ok. Well, sounds like there's plenty of car parks to choose from that aren't just out in the open. Thanks
  4. Nice one Dazz! Thanks, sounds like the go for sure. Now I just need to check it's open from a sunday arvo til like 2-3am the next morning. Anyone know off the top of their head?
  5. Jimbo2000: I like the idea of finding a secure park away from the area, long as I can find it. I guess it'll still be a public park but maybe at least have a boom gate and stuff. The others might b*tch if it's too far a walk after the gig but stuff em hahahah. I'll be driving up during the day so we can bum around so I'll use that time to figure out the best place. EVL15H: This is good to hear from someone... I just wondered how come others were instantly saying take public transport! Another friend today told me it's an OK suburb (Newtown?), but he only owns a boring car. Which gig? Well, saying that would let anyone who read this know when a skyline would be in the area! Let's just say it sure aint Britney Spears \m/ RE Flying: I'm driving up to avoid my gf's penchant for 5 star hotels whenever we go anywhere, which makes what could be even the cheapest trip unnecessarily expensive And... I'd be scared to even sneeze while boarding a plane these days... they'd think there was a bomb hooked up to your olfactory system and crash tackle you to the ground while your trying to clean up your boogers lol
  6. Thanks jantolis, but I don't know anyone there. Are the general public parking areas really bad there? Or should I not worry at all? Will a car cover (which I have) help, or just bring more attention? If the area isn't a black spot then I won't worry, I guess I'm just after that kind of info, and if it is, then the "least worst" place to park, as I don't have much choice. It's alarmed and all.. but don't want to tempt fate by parking in an area known to be bad (if indeed it is...?)
  7. Cans? I'm coming from interstate. I'm bringing 4 mates, I can't use the public transport... Surely there's some students with fancy cars that are in the know?
  8. Not that my car is anything special compared to what else is out there, but I'm going to a gig at the Manning Bar at Sydney uni coming up soonish, and I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for the best/safest place to park the car, which will be unattended from mid evening til the wee hours. The Manning Bar site says there is parking on "Parramatta Rd, City Rd and Carillion Ave" but these are all major roads and I'm not sure if that's the best place to park. I haven't been to Sydney uni before and don't know how big it is going from the map, but I was thinking car parks closer to the venue and under lights... Failing that, where is the most frequented road I could park on near the Manning bar where lots of people would see any late night shenanigans? I look on these pages and the parking "stations" look like their a fair way from where the gig is: http://www.manningbar.com/map/ http://db.auth.usyd.edu.au/directories/map/largemap00a.html Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. PS. Yeah, I'm paranoid.
  9. hahaaha thanks WAS A nice colour. The bass has a new owner. The amp is still available!
  10. Guys/gals see the thread below. For Sale thread I'd prefer to sell locally within the ACT, or to someone whose willing to come get it (I'll deliver it if you're in the ACT), because shipping a bass and amp is asking for trouble I think.
  11. I don't expect this thread to be here long, Ops move if u really want. This really does only apply to ACT, as I'm not shipping an amp in the mail! Guys, I've got a Behringer 30 Watt amp (BX300) for sale. As new, perfect condition. I bought it never really used it (let alone my two guitars!), hence selling. I'm after $175 or near offer. If you know someone who wants to learn bass, or after a backup amp, this is for you. I'll even bring it to u to try out COD or DD is kool. PM me if interested. Here's a pic: NB: the bass is no longer available
  12. I have one pair of perfect condition Senn HD650. No marks of blemishes, smoke and pet free environment. Never driven to stupid volumes. I have the original box (including the softer corrigated cardboard surround), all paperwork that came with it, the 1/4" to 1/8" adapter. I'm selling because I need the money for other things just now, and I tend to listen using speakers these days anyway. These are $900RRP in any hifi shop you care to walk into but can be bought for about $700 if you really haggle. I'm after just $400AU ONO. Shipping by registered parcel with insurance is $25AU to anywhere in Australia. Check my 100% positive eBay feedback: http://feedback.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.d...erid=hellbent26 If you're in the Canberra area, I can bring the headphones to you to have a listen and can accept cash on delivery, or direct deposit (subject to clearance). PM or email me if interested. Thanks for looking.
  13. Another one for Motul 8100 XCESS.
  14. Eep. I'm with JustCar as well lol. I guess it's a good thing I just didn't expect them to do much. Anyway, your so lucky the guy who hit you wants to buy the car cos it has obviously made things so much easier for you!
  15. If you bought it from a dealer take it back there. If you bought it privately, have a look at the "where to get Skylines serviced" thread (stickied at the top of this forum). Personally, I recommend Ed at Integra Automotive in Queanbeyan to look at it. He knows his stuff. Just don't go jumping to conclusions about engine rebuilds or whatever. Esp if you take it to a dodgy repairer (we all know who they are), cos if u even mention something like that, they might just say "uhh...YEAaaahhh. that's what it needs!" and from that point u can just turn around and bend over Congrats on the new car and good luck with the repair!
  16. Buggah Uh maybe a silly question, but if you only had third party insurance, then why did you think anyone might chase anyone for u? Only full comps do (at least, far as I know, and even then not all the time!). Once again, good to see ur calm about it and thinking forwards not backwards!
  17. Have it all! I will be in a similar situation in the next 2-3 years. I reckon keep, the car and here's how: I don't know your budget of course, or if you are intending to live in the new house until the foreseeable future, or if u have other ppl (i.e. a significant other) who u intend to move out with (which will impact the situation of course). BUT, if you jus want to get into the market, why not find one of those niche areas which isn't so hot just at the moment (i.e. on the edge of a developing area) and buy a cheaper place there that will let you keep the car (even if u ALSO use some of the ideas above). THEN, after a fwe years and if u chose well, the value of the house will have gone up (they barely ever fall, but what u want is a relative boom in ur area), then u will own more of the house than ur original money allowed for. Then after a few years you could either use the equity in that place ur in to get a loan for a second better place (even if u sell the first place off afterwards cos u only want one place i assume). NB: This may only be a simplified version of how it might work cos I haven't really looked into it, but the main idea is ur car value will only ever go down, and it's a personal part of u by now, u know it's in's and out's. However, any house/home u get, it's value will (usually) only ever go up meaning u get equity, which allows u to use that equity to get something better. Because A) I won't want to sell my car and B) I wont want to wait to save the ideal deposit (like u), I am thinking of treating my first home as my first car: it'll do, but it's only a means to an end to get the one u really want! (Me: Civic > Skyline, you: 2 beddy > 4 beddy/whatever) Good luck! Also, don't forget first home owner's grant, and u can still get that even if u rent the whole place out to someone else for the first year (just as long as u move into it urself within the first 12 months), then u will be able to have other ppl pay (part of) ur mortgage for the first year AND you won't be paying the houses electricity or phone bills etc (just the rates I think). Again.. this is all just IMO. If it's wrong or dumb don't sue me (but at least post here to say "part X won't work!" so both this guy and I know what the go is. There may of course be a better way, like wait and just save a proper deposit lol.
  18. My A/C kept forgetting it's settings, the fuse kept blowing and my clock died altogether - I had a short. Head unit could also do dodgy stuff from a bad connection, esp if it's intermittent. Go to a sparky!
  19. I've got a 96 R33 GTS-T series 2 and every time I move off from being stationary, I hear what sounds like moving/gurgling water coming from the gearstick area (sounds more like it's behind that area that the actual stick itself). I've removed everything from the car that could possibly make the noise. I hear it every single morning without fail when I first move off, then as far as I can tell, I sometimes hear it when moving off again during stop start traffic. I've yet to test if braking heavily and then moving off makes it more definite (i.e. something getting moved forward during braking by the transfer of weight of the car and then getting pushed back again). It sounds more internal to the cabin area, so I don't expect it's mechanical/engine related. Just wondering if anyone else has heard this before or has ideas. Cos it gives me the 5h1ts!
  20. SOLD I've got an as-new Alpine head unit for sale. It came in my car when I bought it but I swapped it out for my trusty old head unit which I love and know so well I can control without even thinking or looking Here are the specs from the Alpine site: CDA-9853R Bass Engine Pro CD / MP3 / WMA Receiver / Changer Controller This high-class head unit is extremely powerful and sophisticated. It features Alpine’s unrivaled Bass Engine Pro sound tuning, including 6-channel digital time correction and 5-band parametric equalizer. 50W x 4 High Power Amplifier MP3/WMA Playback MP3 ID3 Tag Display i-Personalize Bass Engine Pro 6 Position Digital Crossover 6-ch Adjustable Digital Time Correction 3 PreOuts '05 Amplifier Link Ready Ready for iPod Vehicle Display Interface Ready Multicolor Illumination Remote Control Max Tune SQ Tuner 5-Band Digital Parametric Equalizer RDS Radio Data Display Retail is $700, I'm after $250. I simply would rather have the money right now. Look at the prices of other Alpine head units being sold right now on here and see how good a deal this is. Pls don't bother making a lower offer, this is already crazy cheap. Works perfectly, looks like the previous owner had only installed it recently, as the box was in the boot, with the instructions and the case to hold the removable faceplate. Works perfectly, had a brief play with it while I had it in the car. I read up on it after swapping it and thought maybe I should have left it in there, but I can't be a$$ed opening up the dash etc again. Oops. Send me a PM on here or an email (preferable) via my Profile. I can ship it anywhere in Australia, but buyer will pay shipping and I really suggest insurance just in case. Prefer direct deposit for payment, I can link you to my eBay feedback if you like (and you can email me using that address to confirm it's actually me). If you are in or near Canberra, I can deliver it to you.

  23. Gday Stirlo. Prob don't remember me, was at the museum one quiet friday just before Christmas. Long hair, metal shirt, silver R33. Ppl, I've seen this up close. Very nice car And that's an insane price for the work that's obviously gone into it.
