  2. Post in the Western Australia section, that you want to buy a R33 N/A I am sure that people might have one or would be willing to help you find one. Also what price have you been quoted for Insurance, I am pretty sure it is cheaper getting a N/A insured then a turbo. Also when searching for a N/A R33 try to find one with 5 stud wheels and the 4 piston brakes (it was an option), because stopping is better then going fast! Infact look for a GTS that has as many of the GTST standard options as possible. This is just my opinion hope it helps. Chris
  3. I got an $80 trolley jack from Supercheap and damn it works well, I just wheel it under and jack up. Makes it alot safer then jacking up with the standard jack and also it has a wider base so it is much more stable, makes it easier to jack up on grass if need be. I got the jack and 2 axel stands for $120 and it was worth it.
  4. Cheers for the replies, I got mine cause i hadn't seen many in that colour in Briabane. I really like the two toned effect on the 4 doors, the 2 doors look weird in my opinion.
  5. I am just wondering if many of you fellow liners have this coloured paint on your skyline. Reason for this is I have been told that it is an optional extra paint and pretty rare on skylines. I have only seen one skyline with the same paint as mine and I am just courious as to see if what I have heard is true. Thanks Chris
  6. It was a great day and was a pleasure helping the club. Would like to say a big thanks to Karen (SMR33) for organising the day, getting this award might attract some more members to our club. Chris ps. Mines the blue 4 door in the above pics.
  7. I think I saw Spook's 4 door parked in the Valley tonight, I also saw a red R33 2 door skyline with the center of the front bar removed, it went past me as I was pulling out from the QA hotel in the Valley. And I also saw a silver R33 4 Door driving on Gympie Road at Aspley, I waved but I dont tihnk you noticed me.
  8. Skyline parts are cheaper and more mechanics know them. More develpoment in tuning them.
  9. For 350Kws just get the standard auto box rebuilt as standard they are good for around 200 to 250kws. You will need to run the box with a full manual valve body as you are running a PFC and they dont control the auto box (so it wouldn't change gears properly). You will then need to get a good high stall converter if you want to drag, but bear in mind you will be driving every day so dont get too greedy. You can pick up the standard auto box for around $300 or so and you will need a new transmission crossmember, tailshaft, transmission cooler (dont skimp on this), pedal box, dash cluster, centre console, gear changer and linkages, and I am sure I have missed somthing else here, but thats all I can think of at the moment. You are doing it the cheaper way (opposed to changing auto to manual) so the cost wont be huge, I reckon you could get all the bits and peices for under $1000 and then the cost of the auto rebuild ontop of that (I have no Idea in the cost of that) and installation. Best of luck and I am sure that once you have this done you will see faster 1/4 mile times. I hope that helps. Chris
  10. Happy Birthday Dave, I hope you get lots of goodies, and I will see you at skidpan.
  11. I used car groomers to get my car ready for a wedding. It cost $120 and that included buff and polish, all interior done and with shampoo, and all door jams done. For an extra $30 they would have done the engine bay. I would reccomend them as they did a fantistic job and came to me on a sunday of all days as the wedding was on the monday. I have also heard that the carwash cafe on sandgate/abbotsford road at albion does a good job on cars. I would not reccomend to take your car through an automatic car wash as i took my Valiant through one and it scratch the paint and didn't really clean the car.
  12. I hpoe you had a Happy Birthday Marc, I will bring out the birthday punches at the skidpan. Best wishes Chris
  13. How many Kms has it done, a friend of mine has a S1 R33 and it had done about 89,000 and he bit the bullet and got the 100,000 Kms service done and made a HUGE differance to how his car ran, he then added a PFC about 3 weeks later and it felt like a new car. He now beats all standard WRXs and he is now looking at suspension and a turbo upgrade. Keep the Line dont go to a WRX as they have just as many problems as skylines.
  14. I like Mt Tamborine as I aint been there, but I will be there as I am on holidays then.
  15. Sad to hear Ben, and I hope you get it back on the road tougher then ever. chris
  16. I will be keeping an eye on http://mirror.bom.gov.au/products/IDR503.loop.shtml for weather details
  17. I might be strange but i actually like the feeling when cornering with HICAS it makes me concentrate even harder and it feels like I am sliding around corners. I am going to leave it on until it dies (which prolly wont be long due to its unreliability) Chris
  18. yeah I also noticed a Holden Rodeo and a Nissan Nirvara
  19. I will be there with my car in the SAU club display, come and say hi. Also if you are looking into joining the SAU Qld Club then come along and see what we are about. Cheers Chris
  20. Just wondering if anyone has any pics of the day? Chris
  21. I am keen, I dont knoe about a "route" but I suggest that we meet somewhere close to the city as apposed to Mt cootha as that could be our criuse destiantion. I dont know exactly but we should get some suggestions on where to meet up.
  22. hey Silver_R34_GT-T, is your car still under warranty since you only had it under a year? HICAS is a real bitch as pretty much no mecanics know that shit in Australia. Ring up Nissan and have a chat, I think that Nissan at Windsor has worked on HICAS before, so I would say give them a go. If not try Fulcrum as they do steering. Best of luck dude. Chris
