  1. its all in the gearing and final ratio that makes up for the lag how else do you make so much power and midrange from a 4cyl 2 litre with a big single
  2. brought a pioneer vsx-527-k, great a/v reciever, very cheap, 397, but took it back cos the media streaming / internet radio interface was sub ordianry if you have an old a/v reciever and are keen to upgrade this unit is a bargain at 397. its a shame i wasnt so keen on the streaming/internet radio (even with DLNA) the interface was clunky, cumbersome and just slow for my usage. back to vsx-522 and media monkey
  3. fair stack for reference when my 33 was written off it was insured for market value so around 11,000 i had the option to buy the car back at time it was declared write off and they would let me keep the car and pay me the difference, around 6k ish and its no longer available for comprehensive insurance or let them have the car they pay me out the 11k minus excees etc
  4. rego and insurance are two different things dont see why it wouldnt be covered
  5. http://paulr33.com/powerfc-faq/powerfc-faq.htm
  6. can you post the datalogit log and also your tune file? i cant see it being the PFC and yet having a stable idle what happens if in neutral you tap the throttle? does it do the same ign retarded?
  7. as the others have said you cant change when VCT comes on, but you can set when it turns off from memory car must in gear TPS must be open NTR must be closed RPM must be more than 1300rpm i think before VCT will fire (the VTC switch will have a black dot) to test the theory, start car, clutch in, hold clutch in, move into gear, keep holding clutch, rev in while holding clutch PFC will think you are in gear, it will see TPS and NTR and VTC should fire all you can do is disable VTC completely or change the kick off point, you cant change the kick on point form memory its like between 1300rpm and 4500rpm (rb25 default) so you could do like 1300rpm and 1350rpm if you wanted using datalogit to edit it
  8. 5.11 is the PFC version and it will be hand controller FCC3
  9. 34R's are still 40k, holding value
  10. if youve got standalone engine management why not use it correctly? setting it to 50% sounds like a brain dead way - almost SAFC Style, bend the tune instead of set correctly
  11. if its a legit product then you should not need to send it back to apexi or nengun when you do DATA INIT i cant image any ap engineering model needing to be shipped back for DATA INIT so if the one you buy requires to be shipped away for DATA INIT and its "legit" then its absolute ass as per my previous posts, beginners trap
  12. welcome to 2006 the voltage ramp is the range of numbers on the bottom right of datalogit ie each airflow meter optoin (1 to 5) has its own unique voltage scale ramp i dont think editing the voltage ramp will fix car running like ass because the afm is too close to the turbo snout usually its reversion that makes it drive like ass and usually putting a dirty big bend in the ducting before the afm fixes it
  13. standard vs hiflow snout is made larger and the wheel is physically bigger left is std, right is highflowed
  14. as per the djetro install instructions both from the plenum paulr33.com under the powerfc faq has the install instructions
  15. does the issue occur with stock maps after data init and the self idle adjust procedure or does the issue only occur after your load your previous tune
  16. bcnr33 (or any gtr) djetro has twin map sensors the powerfc uses both map sensors and both should be installed and used people have gotten the GTR powerfcs working RB20/RB25 no problems and it requires some exrtra work the main difference is they are cutting wiring, splicing wires, changing a heap of settings and doing all the tuning its not off the shelf and the cars loom would be modified to suit, or a boomslang in the middle modified a few years i actually bought a boomslang cable and the supplier was happy to template from what i had done (wiring changes) to make a GTR pfc work on ECR33 so you could basically order a BCNR33 PFC and this special boomslang and punch in a few settings and it would work on an ECR33 but i never got around to it this was when mafia got a stock BCNR33 working on his ECR33 properly. this was back when ECR33 was discontinued
  17. it would only have one map sensor as its single turbo rb25
  18. it just sounds like a beginners trap ive seen people data init by accident and ive seen friends play with the hand controller and data init too data init the unit once and its basically a paperwork which needs to go back to nengun to be fixed if you data init and your away from home theres no way it will start on BCNR33 maps and default tune so youd have to tow it to get it home. ASS it should be on the nengun site under NOP dont get me wrong its a massive breakthrough in being able to basically do what AP Engineering were doing but its ass that when you data init, its a bcnr33 powerfc i actually wonder what is being changed on the pfc to make it work with ECR33 if theyre just parralleling up the input sensor to make it work then technically if you data init the unit and enter a series of key presses on the hand controller this is probably the same thing ie does the djetro ECR33 come with some special firewamre that actually says ECR33-D in the /etc/version or does it just say BCNR33-D and its just a series of tune settings if its just tune settings you could do it yourself with a bunch of key strokes on the hand conrtoller sure it would take a while, but would save posting it to nengun
  19. i wonder whats fixed or changed..... changelog kinda helps !
  20. to be clear hitting load point 20 doesnt mean the AFM is maxing out see if the AFM peaks at 5.0v if it doesnt, the afm is not maxing out and you need to rescale the load axis - datalogit can do this and a competent tuner can do this also if your using a djetro map sensor version what do you think happens when you hit target boost of say 2.1kgcm2? the map sensor is 3.3v and 2.1kgcm from 4000rpm to redline.... so the load axis never changes? why because boost never increases so by changing to a map sensor - you get the same result
  21. hmm got some spare cash what to buy
  22. sorry and just to check also is the an APEXI legit product or a special nengun release? i always questioned this and it wasnt clear IF its a legit APEXI release you should be able to DATA INIT when ever you like If its a non legit release and you have to send it back when you want do DATA INIT each time I would advise caution with this product this sounds worrying and i would not purchase this. DATA INIT can help to fix f**ked idle and other issues there should be no reason a legit Apexi purcahse requires re-send to supplier to do DATA INIT youve been warned and i would question this this sounds like its a BCNR33 powerfc djetro with a special remap to make it work on ECR33 vs a legit ECR33 powerfc djetro version where you can DATA INIT as much as you like it doesnt make sense because DATA INIT would load from its nvram
  23. Hi i would like to know if anyone has tried the rb25det D-jetro Power FC as yet. (R33 RB25DET) 1. what is the MAP sensor limits 1 2 3 bars? the apexi standard map sensor is a 3 bar map sensor. but dont be fooled. this doesnt mean you can run 3 bar boost. map sensors (all not just apexi's one) are rated in total pressure and not positive pressure or "boost" 3 bar map sensor means -1kgcm2 for vacuum and +2 bar for positive pressure so if you want to run more than 2 bar boost using the apexi kit you need to change the map sensor and recale it using datalogit 2. Can i still use the AFM if needed. no you cant. models are fixed. ljetro is afm, djetro is map. you cant mix and match or change 3. Is there launch control. no there is not 4. Can the old Data logger work with it. or software update needed?? yes datalogit will work 5. what do you guys think about it.???? same as ljetro but with map sensor input instead of airflow meter some tuners swear by apexi djetro and others hate it with passion ive heard more good stories and tuners talking good about it vs those talking bad the main thing that is crucial is the installation, dont f**k with the install or be a spaz read the instructions and install it as per how apexi intended it to be installed most issues come back to how its installed
  24. any local electronics place can, its just an electronic controller board after all apexi officially offer this service too via nengun.com
