  1. an rb25 with VCT disabled runs like ass between 1800rpm and 4500rpm its bascially sluggish and feels like ass it still runs and will make boost, just sluggish like you said why did the workshop tune it like this? in summary as phil said you need a window switch to turn on VCT and turn it off as well they are called RPM window switches or get 300zx ECU and retune
  2. when i was looking i couldnt find any in melbourne if your in a rush get a workshop to pull it out, re-weld it and re-fit
  3. you say all of a sudden, yet you mentioned it only occured straight after you pulled everything out from under the dash - conincidence you think? double check whatever you did and triple check it - it might be something obvious or loose that is causing a bad earth. given it was fine before you started fiddling its a high possibility whatever you were doing has caused it
  4. yeah from memory the workshop i took it to certianly didnt remove the dash
  5. yeah re-weld the existing one or order a new one i got a new nismo one and got a local mechanic to fit it for me i think fitting it was fairly reasonable priced in the end

  7. yeah if the old ones are toast then you would notice better driving spark doesnt make power air and fuel do change the ratio and you make more (or less) power spark is just an ancillary to the mix
  8. yeah i dont see why splitfires would increase power unless your others were that shagged and were misfiring non-stop you shouldnt gain power going from std coilpacks to aftermarket ones, at least i wouldnt expect so

    i reckon it would polish out with cut n polish get some $20 polish for deep scratch from repco and a polishing pad n try it should take no more than 10 minutes
  10. this is the pipe you need for twin Z32 on big single application, made by trust, very nice piece of kit http://www.nengun.com/trust-greddy/suction-pipe then on the powerfc as the others have said read the PFC FAQ in a pinch you can choose VG30 and it should run and idle OK if you are still having issues with VG30 selected view ETC, SENSOR SW CHECK on the hand controller and check out the values for AF-1 and AF-2 - they should be very similar and no black highlight
  11. for ljetro the timing for rb25 is locked to 15deg regardless of what is on the IGN map values you then set the cas to 15deg and it should be spot on for djetro there is the option to enable/dislabe idle-G control under function select for rb26 timing at idle is locked to 20deg and it ignores whatever is on the ignition map at idle
  12. disconnect battery terminal in the boot press brake pedal a few times (drain all power) then reconnect battery terminal start car and let it idle the stock ecu will perform base idle adjust and should be ok from here on
  13. stock location if you want bigger you can fit the hotwire into a larger pipe or you can use the trust twin 80mm afm pipe thats commonly used on the t88 setups for a big single that would certainly avoid any "restrictions" you would have

  16. define better? build quality? warranty support? ease of installation? transistent throttle response? wide open throttle response? resistance to surge? corrected airflow vs pressure ratio? options of bearing and wheel variants? do you see the issue? so many variants, options, and it's open to interpretation or are you comparing for a simple flat out which makes more rwkw at 20psi ? i reckon both are ordinary turbochargers and there are a lot better units out there, but if i had to put money on one of them i would put $5 on the KKR over the atr43

  22. those monza ones are horrible i tried one when i first got my car and it dampened the throttle response no idea how, but it was ordinary with the monza one the apexi one is probably like the K&N ones both would be good interview done went pretty well will hopefully hear from them next week
  23. yeah if you want to see how loud it is try that i did that when i first got my gtst and couldnt work out why it was so quiet vs other skylines i had heard took the top lid off the stock panel box and took out the panel filter then when for a quikc burn my god - suck induction spool noise - it was awesome didnt do it for long only 2 mninutes then got a pod sorted out
