  3. if you go near or hit 100% duty and you still insist on a track day turn the boost down about 3 to 4psi and it should be enough to keep it under but as others have said, if you max injectors, you risk lean out, lean out = rebuild if its bad enough
  4. ive got a datalogger serial port 4 temp sensor logger from an australian company they build it and send it out to you its fairly cheap K145 - Temperature Logger Price Photo Docs This kit is a 4 channel temperature meter. The temperature data, in degrees C or F, is output as a continuous data stream over an RS232 serial port. The kit uses a PIC12C509 and up to 4 x DS1820 digital thermometers (only 1 supplied - more available on request). No external power is required (the kit is powered from the serial port). The output data is in simple text format. Simply capture the data to a text file and then import it into Excel to produce tables and charts of temperature readings over time. Or you can write your own BASIC programs to grab the readings. This is an ideal use for old 386 and 486 computers - continuous temperature data logging. As you can see from the photo there is not much to the hardware. http://www.ozitronics.com/ software exists for windows or linux im using it to temperaure log inside and outside temp and then into linux for rrd/mrtg i never got around to use it for car but wanted to do in and out temps of the intercooler core but never got around to it BCNR33/BNR32/BNR34 airtemp sensor is same as water temp sensor, the same physical part so you can always get one of those and do a bung in the intercooler end tanks and do it that way no idea on voltage mapping to temp but i cant be too hard to work out
  5. wipe away all signs of oil on the intake piping so its clean go for a boost run take piping off and check if its fresh then yeah its leaking you may find that oil build up is over time ie a few years it could be the pic doesnt look good tho but certianly wipe it all clean drive it see if it comes back instantly
  6. how good is revenge of the nerds i have nerds 1 and 2 nerds in paradise is tops
  7. but to be clear and fair the NBN has no purpose or aim to reduce ping times, hops, latency or magically resolve inter terrerestial bandwidth its sole purpose is to give people that cant get any decent broadband, standardised high speed broadband people in warragul, perth, new estates and other random places that arent miles away, but arent CBD and can't get anything over plain jane adsl1 or cant even get ADSL1 the NBN sets out to negate all of that capacity issues with no free ports, cant get ADSL2, can only sync at 4mbps on ADSL2 etc etc it also sets to standardise the medium and use one single cable for that purpose - a new nice fibre lead instead of 1960s copper its unlikely to see fibre optic to a property in woop woop but it owuld at least get some form of high speed medium, coax perhaps ? it has no purpose or aim to reduce ping times, hops, latency etc latency is a simple mechanics of terrestial links to overseas and who cares about latency these days? i think its only relevant to games that are sensitive? most streaming, live web apps etc can work fine on sub 200ms from the US hops is irrelevant again for most web apps for mums and dads and commercial companies
  8. no you cannot switch the sensor type on the powerfc djetro is for map sensor only ljetro is for airflow meter only someone tried map sensors on ljetro version and it runs like ass imho if you have djetro and dont want djetro, sell it and buy normal version
  9. ask yourself why is it so cheap
  10. going belgium beer cafe drop an sms if your in the area
  11. i dont know the full background on why new estates dont get everything but it may even depend on the builder of the estate too in keilor all the cables are underground (no power poles etc) which is great and it just happened to have bigpond cable so i was lucky and couldnt be bothrered with a phone line so went cable
  12. yeah thats pretty far out, it could be any level of service until you try it you wont know unfortunately even telstra adsl could be ordinary at that distance unfortunately no way of checking until you go for it even the guy next door their line may be on a different cable path so its not guarnateed to be the same
  13. you should be ok on ADSL2 if the speed you get on ADSL2 is too slow due to distance they wont let you use up an ADSL2 port and will kick you back to an ADSL1 port there are minimum commitment speeds for each type before they will turn it on for you, so if your too far, they will give you the other etc so just for ADSL2 in the hope youll get that ie they wont let you have an ADSL2 and sync at 3mbps theyll drop you to an ADSl1 port
  14. cos there might be more to it than just running cables infrastructure costs, pit access, etc etc if cable is avaiable, get it, if not, go for ADSL
  15. nah cable is to remain even with nbn i think
  16. thats the age old cable thinking over subscribed / hub technology / blah blah the network is pretty well setup these days i dont reckon cable would ever be over subscribed ive used optus @home and bigpond cable and all times it was consistent line rate non-stop regardless the only time it was slow back when optus @home would cap you for reaching your quota adsl as others have said varying line rate and speed and throughput dropouts and very suseptable to line conditions coax cable is very mature, stable and static and when adsl does barf you get that age old chestnut oh its the line, oh its your exhange, oh its your filter blah blah cable if it barfs, you ring bigpond or optus and say fix and they do it
  17. cable is better by far if you have the choice and can justify cost cable hands down
  18. download public torrent at 1.8mb/sec fair throughput gotta love bigpond
  19. yeah thats the prob with only that level of quality, not many avail and i gotten a heap of old movies that i simpy cant find in decent quality so you have to be stuck with 700mb divx's sometimes
  20. im all for 1080p but currently dont have all those movies on DVD and dont have the diskspace once i get my qnapp and some 2TBs then i can continue hunting more higher quality rips but i ripped die hard 3 from dvd and the source was only 720p so i cant even rip it to 1080
  21. theyre a mix of divx, xvid, mkv and mp4 some are great, some are reasonable, some are ok no handy cams though
  22. never heard of it but what do i know? if it was belt flop that would make sense if it was the cas wouldnt it be whacko everywhere in the RPM range?
  23. dezz http://www.paulr33.com/list/movies.htm
  24. oh wow u dont heve have swaybars? bugger. get em' my car came with nismo sway and strut bars when i first got it i couldnt imagine it without them
  25. you might even find the car to be overall quicker on twisty etc with a better setup instead of just more rwkw in the top end
