  2. agree with hamish for your first car get a junker as i said before and drive it till the doors fall off get out of this mindset of having the BESTEST car ever for your first P's car when your off your p's thne knock yourself out and get an evo or GTR or twin supra etc insurance is cheaper, you are wiser, can drive better and arent in hero mode being 18 in a high powered car
  3. i agree with zebra get the smallest single you can get that will flow what you want then boost is simply a matter of checkign the compressor map to find out what pressure = what flow twins wont give you the response you want ie twins that make 300rwkw single that makes 300rwkw the single will come on earlier and make more response/torque but the twins will flow more progressively in the top end so you basically want the smallest big single with a housing that doesnt choke vs twins or a larger big single
  4. how sure of this are you? al has a 3076 on his 3 litre and it makes tons of power everywhere and it makes over 300rwkw why on earth would you go for a Gt35xx when a GT30xx will do what you want, earlier, more power everywhere and should have enough peak are you saying the 3076 is too small? ref; "wont make 300rwkw at 0.8 bar, need bigger turbo or bigger boost" if you size the housing correcly then this shouldnt be a problem ie dont fit a mega small housing and choke, fit a larger size housing
  5. your tyres will run out before the calipers do ie upgrading to 6 pot on the front is great, but if your running normal tyres, you probably dont gain much except resistance to heat in the calipers as they are bigger youd probably get more stopping power with better tyres but people upgrade to bigger calipers for braging rights plus it looks good and i agree, it does look good
  6. 3 litre is probably cheaper f**k welding the diff or GTR diff either shim your current one or new kazz centre or nismo centre do it once and do it properly stuff changing in / out 2nd hand parts etc

  8. i dont get the issue? the .dat files are maps that you open with datalogit and you can really only view them in datalogit if you open them in a text editor, its just numbers - ie useless the logs are .txt files which you can open in notepad they are basically .csv files with comma seperate values for each column the most common way is to open excel, new sheet, import data, from .csv and select the specific .txt file the data will pop in seperated into columns and away you go

  11. yep ca18 is fine its not like your doing a 100,000 rally across the nullabor in it just drive it like a normal car and youll be fine
  12. doesnt have to be a bucket of bozz but forget about all this engine swaps etc my first car was an auto vl n/a bozz it was in ok condition ,everything worked, and it drove fine i never looked after it, never serviced, never did anything very reliable otherwise, it had more oil in the engine bay when i sold it, then it did in the engine then i sold it for 2k and got my r33 gtst kids these days want the best, latest, fastest, bestest car EVER on their P's and it has to turbocharged, it has to be blah blah just buy a normal car you dont have to keep up with the other knobs "cos they do"
  13. my honest advice? buy a NORMAL NON TURBO AUTO bucket of bozz first car drive it till the doors fall off and you get off your p's then you can drive, are allowed to drive normal cars and a bit smarter with looking after cars (i didnt look after my first car) then you could probably go staright to a GTR 33 by that time and youll have a real car first off imho dont bother with a nice turbo or engine swapping etc - takes time, $$$ and effort etc
  14. there woudl be a big diff for 2530s vs gt-ss's do you really need that power much ? id put gt-ss's on stock motor, but wouldnt put 2530s on std one

  20. when do you mean by "it out" do you mean unplugging it? never unplug datalogit or the hand controller or plug in for that matter too, when the car is ON and it has power the apexi documentation strongly advises against it and it should only ever be plugged/un-plugged with power off its a bit homo i know, but dont do it when its ON also i wouldnt think DATA INIT would fix anything it just resets the maps try true serial also, much more stable
  21. id say its either a plug issue or timing issue with datlogit check the connection, re-check it, are you using true serial port or usb dongle? is the hand controller plugged in at the same time? it's bogus numbers as you cant have ignition timing of 70, the engine would melt, likewise with 0's you would notice it backfire its ass off with mega retarded timing
  22. just open datalogit, do a log of nothing, then file save as, then check where it is dumping the files

  25. i reckon tracking devices are a bit over the top and if you had 500k lambo, sure, but for a skyline, why bother? if its insured then claim your insurance and see how you go. it sucks i know, but not a complete loss if it wasnt insured then thats a different story all together
