  1. if you can find 3 local tuners who can tune, recommend and use it and can offer a reasonable price for install and tune go for it. there is no point picking an ECU that no one can tune, so best you check before anything. my advice do like everyone else powerfc nistune vipec should be lots of local tuners, good options, good pricing as you can choose the tuner etc
  2. good news sparky did all the work did it for good price did some extra stuff it all works bad news cisco switch is toast forgot to isolate that plug and the power going on/off a few times has nuked it doh!

  5. it's an old model EVC, bulletproof but old i reckon it would be worth $150
  6. that looks like a HKS EVC, which is a boost controller i dont think HKS make piggyback AFC's that look like the EVC model
  7. the ECU is the standard computer, but remapped by a tuning workshop/workhouse they get the std ECU, make some chip changes on the board, then edit the tune this gives the car more power etc but it can also be risky, as you have no idea what it is tuned for or how safe/unsafe it is you really should steer clear of remaps and avoid ie it could be tuned for 800cc injectors for all you know and putting it on a std car could make it go bang even if you do find your car runs on with a remapped ecu, you can do basically nothing with it, as you cant edit the tune in most cases

  16. i just used normal cutting agent for polishing on my series 2 R33 and they came up like brand new didnt need to use sand paper etc, just normal polish and good as new
  17. are you sure you are seeing the gains ONLY from cam gear fitting to RB25? we know cam gears gain power and response on RB26, but from memory on RB25 it is pointless and factory is best setup

  21. before you do either what are you trying to achieve what water temp do you currently get to what is your car used for what water temp do you want to be at
  22. ah it doesnt quiet work like that, when you hit 5v on the AFM, you hit 5v and it cant physically measure any more air there is a difference between running out of load cells and maxing the AFM (5v). when you hit the 5v limit you have two options a) replace with higher flowing unit b) pan out the cells as best you can run be stuck with a 1d tune (map sensor style) when you peak the AFM - your only load increase axis is RPM you can't edit the powerfc settings to make an AFM that hits 5v, magically only reach 4v to "overclock it" or "rescale". recale only affects load rating
  23. hardest oil filter to remove ever stupid thing and replaced my vac lines with 3/16th fuel hose stupid things keep splitting so fuel hose it is
  24. too hard to tell, only way is to check on the dyno if it was tuned on RB25, leave it on that, dont change it then trash it around your just asking to kill something leave it how it was, plonk it on a dyno and check the AFR/s etc
