  1. Hi Guys, Need your opinions to help me decide on my next car. The main prerequisite is a car that I will enjoy DRIVING EVERYDAY. I'm not planning to start a family anytime soon so it does not matter how many doors or seats it has. I don't play golf therefore boot space is not a concern. A budget of $60k-80k. It will also see track days 4 to 5 times a year. Again not in order of preference. VW Golf R32 I like the fact its an AWD with DSG and a decent engine. Has the best interior and built quality of the bunch. 2008 Lancer Evolution X AWD + Turbo + Twin Clutch. Brand new 2008 model car. 02/03 Porsche Boxster S One of the most capable chassis. 3 times MOTOR performance car of the year. It's a Porsche. R34 GTR Vspec Well, it's a GTR for a start! and a R34 Vspec is always one of the most desirable GTRs in anyone's book. I have said some of the positive aspects. Now I would like to hear from you, what do you like and dislike about each one of these cars. and which would you realistically pick given the budget. Regards
  2. Yes only if you tell us what car first
  3. Yes cost of manufacturing are not dissimilar its the parts cost that drives up the price difference between an entry model and a luxury model. Cheaper from South Africa? Not very likely. The way I look at it China and India will be the biggest automotive manufacturing countries in world before anyone else. In fact China already is the second largest after the US.
  4. If you can't say anything constructive towards the questions in this thread then STFU! Go play in the wasteland! n00b!
  5. FWD SUCKS..XR5's specs might look good on paper but it would never be as complete as the R33 around the track or on the road. Check out this thread for more XR5 discussion http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=180956
  6. so you don't use the handbrake to hold the car stationary but only with brake pedal? how many revs should you keep it at? also why do I hear people shift into second gear sometimes?
  7. whats the point of having an 450rwkw weekend driver? was the manifold meant for a r33? if so you might have clearance issues with the turbo.
  8. What Bel Performance? are they any good?
  9. who else could tune F-CONs in Australia then?
  10. anyone has info on boost 98 versus v power racing 100? which would result in a better gain after a retune?
  11. they are factory turbos in Porsches, VWs and Audis.
  12. Whats the deal with North America having 100 octane fuel (105RON equivalent) available in selected fuel stations while the best we have in Australia is "only" V power 100RON?
  13. Thanks. Great article! Worth a retune to 100 octane it seems, a relative cheap way to get more power with the benefit of higher anti knock safety margin!
  14. maybe that explains the slow power curve down low
  15. p.s. did I mention 10.5:1 Compression ratio ?
  16. I know this is a Skyline forum but this should be something of interest to you guys. Turbo AWD AUDIs are quite popular modified cars in the U.S. and Europe. Here we have an U.S. company whos developing an GT2871 turbo kit for the lastest B7 AUDI A4. http://forums.motivemag.com/zerothread?id=3277677 235kw at all wheels from a stock internal 2.0 litre direct injection 4. Not too shabby don't you think?
  17. lol an $20k R32 GTR + $15k mods = eat supra for breakfast
  18. wait, is there a difference between standard 100 octane in japan and V power racing (100RON)? I have been told our standard 98RON fuel is equivalent to 93 octane fuel in the U.S?
  19. what about Tom? is he still selling HKS products or not? their landlines disconnected.
  20. I can't believe Im defending 33/34 GTRs when I dont even own one!
  21. you can not base your arguement on a Wheels magazine cover from nearly two decades ago. Bet you 10 bucks when the new GTR comes out next year Wheels magazine will have another issue with "The All New Nissan GTR Godzilla" on the cover.
  22. so who did you think came up with refering to GTR as Godzilla in the first place? yes, the media! where are all the 33 and 34 GTR owners? surely they won't accept the fact that theirs are not real Godzillas!
  23. Well.... WRONG! According to the general automotive media you can refer to any Nissan GTR as Godzilla, including the upcoming 2008 GTR.
  24. these two are not the only Godzillas! there are also R33 GTR Godzilla, R33 GTR V spec Godzilla and R34 GTR Godzilla et cetera :laughing-smiley-014:
  25. Looking for a shop that sells drag radials off the shelf in Sydney. Also what size should I buy 15, 16 or 17? I will getting two second hand rims to suit. Thanks.
