  1. lots of shops sell them. try bel performance.
  2. WHat about Boost 98, E10 98RON? Has ethanol content but 98RON. Does the car still need to be retuned in order to run it safely?
  3. the gtr I want is still a few years away (not an usual run of the mill $60k r34 gtr) so cant afford it right now. just want to play with my gtt for the meanwhile. we've decided not to go down the rb30 route because 1st want to test good the rb25 neo really is (not many have been heavly modified) 2nd, might want to keep the stock plenum and many other ancillaries so to see how much gain just from running higher boost. after all im only chasing 350kw. btw how many rwkw can a z32 afm efficiently deliver?
  4. Is 8.75:1 CR safe enough for high boost, say 1.5bar? if thats the case theres no need to use thicker head gaskets.
  5. thanks guys many valuable info here for the neo. I have come up with a "mild" rebuild plan, machining the block wiseco pistons shotpeened and polished factory rods reground crank upgrade oil and water pumps Upstairs, port and polish cylinder head valve springs and retainers camshafts exhaust cam gear (is it necessary?) let me know what you think. cheers
  6. yeah I no longer run stock computer. have a pfc tuned to around 12:1 afr so guess I should just stick to 98 for now. If I do get the car tuned on 100 octane V Power Racing later on, would it hurt to run 98 octane (v power, ultimate) occasionaly in case V Power Racing is not available?
  7. nothing wrong with that goes to show how much anything skyline means to our lives. this is the best advice so far
  8. haaha great video. makes me wonder if the japanese has made an autobots version of the skyline gtr. with a pair of twin turbos spinning on the shoulders or something.
  9. last question, which forged pistons on the market are suitable for my power aim? and work well with rb25 neo?
  10. ye I know its an overkill as I could only run low boost with standard internals, was considering down sizing for more response but want get the rebuild under way first and see how it turns out.
  11. thanks guys. hmm..no burnout means u will be doing ur burnout off the line....while heating them too much hinders.. maybe something in between, a light burn out? how do you do a light burn out? re 60ft time, is around 2 secs to be expected for a rwd car? i mean if more than 2.2 then i must be doing something wrong? lol 225s are really too tiny for anything more than 200rwkw on tap A factory standard Porsche Boxster S gets 265/18 and only 165rwkw.
  12. hey guys, im hitting the drag strip in a couple of weeks for the first time. car-->98 gtt, 260rwkw @ 1.1bar, gt3240, single heavy duty clutch, front 225, rear 255/40/17 bridegestone re050. turbo is set on relatively low boost because of standard engine internals. the car gets plenty of wheel spins both first and second gear on the street. so at what rpm should i launch the car? any advantages launching it on second gear to limit wheel spin? should i ride the clutch or dump it? what tyre pressure do I use? 30psi front, 22psi rear? do i need to do a burn out? whats a good burn out technique to warm up street tyres? as its a quite powerful car for a drag racing noob like me what other precautions or things that i should be aware of? thanks for the help
  13. How many degree anti clockwise turn would be safe normally if i dont check the knock level after adjusting timing? thanks
  14. whats the breakdown for the 6-7k, including labour I assume? I already have all the external supporting mods as said above. cheers
  15. I thought I have read somewhere in this forum that rb25 neo came standard with gtr rods, guess i was wrong then. what about water and oil pumps? the standard ones are good for 300rwkw, do they really need upgrade for an extra 50kw?
  16. check, check, check. also already has greddy ebc and z32 afm. is q45 afm necessary for the power level?and I thought r34 gtt came standard with gtr rods?
  17. Hi guys, thinking of rebuilding my rb25 neo to handle 330-350rwKW what i have so far--> gt3240, external gate, 600cc injectors, pfc, fmic and all. on the card--> tomei poncam, cam gear, custom plenum & throttle body. whats required in a minimum rebuild to handle this sort of power? this is gonna be the last major mod for my car to keep me entertained till I have saved enough for a r34 gtr, therefore a basic rebuild is all im after. many suggested forged pistons is a must. also metal head gaskets. what about valve springs and retainers? what else do you think i need? thanks for the help.
  18. awesome! nice multifunction steering wheel. does it come with heated seats?
  19. anyone know its limit? is it different to r33's stock bov?
  20. ok sounds like theres no point using v power racing without a tune or at least adjust timing then. thanks i will try that.
  21. above turbos will surely need metal gaskets to run required boost, would 1.2mm be enough?
  22. but good up to how much boost? 20psi or something?
  23. i agree he might not have taste or style, look like a snob from the pics. but how exactly is this car ugly?
  24. thanks guys for the replys. so using 100 octane fuel on 98 tuned engine will lean out the mixture which would increase safety margin but need to adjust timing. how exactly do i do that? and also, is it worthwhile doing (pay the extra cost for v power racing + adjusting timing) for the so said slight increase of safety margin, without any real performance increase over the quater mile?
  25. usually their will call you back if you leave a message. worked for me everytime. same goes for most other work shops.
