  1. Thank you Batman.
  2. hey all got a new set of rims measuring 17x8 front and 17x9 rear. whats the best street tyres to get at the moment? im thinking 235/45/17 at the front and 255/45/17 at the rear but ist possible to have 265 or even 275 for the 9" rear rims? its a daily driver so im not interested in street legal semi slicks. yeah which brand and model tyres would you recommend? say for a budget of around $1500. any advice is much apreciated. thanks.
  3. is this a good flywheel to get? "Exedy - Single Sports - Light Flywheel Low mass is a good thing when it comes to high-performance flywheels, which is why the lightweight aluminum Exedy flywheel can help your sporty street ride or weekend racer develop more drive-wheel power. A flywheel is basically an energy storage device. When the factory designs your flywheel, they take smoothness and other drivability factors into account and end up creating a heavier-than-necessary flywheel. An Exedy flywheel still gives you great drivability, but the Exedy flywheel is made of lighter materials that take less engine power to accelerate. Your engine doesn't make more power and torque, but more power and torque gets to the wheels because your Exedy flywheel isn't soaking up as much of it as your stock flywheel did. Make sense? Each Exedy flywheel is custom-machined from proprietary alloy metals and specially tuned to the vehicle upon which it is intended to be mounted. That way, your Exedy flywheel always gives you smooth shifting, scintillating acceleration, and steady idling characteristics that you'll love if you're a performance-minded driver. More importantly, you get back a handful of horsepower with an Exedy flywheel, which is what your goal should be with every modification you make" Nengun
  4. are you saying clutch fluid is the same as brake fluid? or clutch bleed meaning brake master cylinder bleed? another question: so theres gearbox oil and clutch fluid they are not the same thing right? now when i get a new clutch ist worthwhile to replace both gearbox oil and clutch fluid? sorry im still confused.
  5. sorry to bump this up. after reading through the whole thread Im still not very clear on one thing: does it really gives you faster acceleration say for 0-400m drag racing? or does it just "feel" faster because it revs faster? Ive got a single plate Jim Berry clutch to be installed next week, if light flywheel is as beneficial as most you say maybe i should get one whilst the gearbox is out?
  6. yeah but does that mean if the car has wheels 300kw + 50kw loss = 350 engine kw?
  7. what are you talking about? 251RWKW means 251kw at the rear wheels. you don't normally say 251 rear wheel kw at the engine, do you?
  8. Thanks guys. yeah I was talking about gearbox oil. do you HAVE to replace it when putting in a new clutch? also, how often should you change the lsd oil? same time as gearbox oil? thanks
  9. I have always wondered how much power my engine is actually producing after it made 250rwkw on the dyno. A factory standard GTT with 206kw at the engine usually makes 145-150kw at the wheels. If everything else stays constant: tyres, wheels, drivetrain, dyno setting, temperature and etc. How much would the same car produce at the engine with 250rwkw? In other words: How much is 250rwkw in engine kw? Do you add the 56kw drivetrain loss (as from 206kw - 150rwkw = 56kw) which give you 306kw at the engine? or do you calculate in percentage power loss (206 divide by 150 = 1.37), then you times 250rwkw by 1.37 which give you 343kw at the engine? Applying whichever the correct method, what is 300rwkw equals at the engine? and 330rwkw? I understand that unless you put the engine on a engine dyno you can't get a definite power figure at the fly. But whats the general rule of thumb method to calculate engine kw from power at wheels? Thanks
  10. Sorry for the n00b questions. Do you usually change the clutch oil when installing a new clutch? Is clutch oil same as gearbox oil? or different? How often should you replace clutch, gearbox and lsd oils? Thanks
  11. As the title states, where can I get this brake fluid in Sydney? Thanks.
  12. Any other good fibreglasser?
  13. Anyone knows a good fibreglasser on north sydney area? need to modify some fibreglass bodykit. Thanx
  14. maybe YOU should USE THE SEARCH BUTTON, this "300rwkw" thread was created long time before yours.
  15. You have completely misunderstood MY point. As said above, I started this thread because I appreciate the beautiful aerodynamic bodywork and the performance engineering of this amazing car, and wanted to share. The title NEW GTR Killer is simply to attract attention. No body said its going to be a money for money comparison with the new GTR! In that sense, it would beat the new GTR both in terms of performance and looks. In my opinion and from many others in this thread. That's of course, until Mines or Nismo get their hands on the new GTR. And No, the Z-tune is not quicker across the quater mile. The 10.02 seconds claim was misleading, no way it could have achieved that with the factory 500ps, even with supplied RE55s. Do a search on this topic, it has been covered many times before. Again, I had no intention to inflict debates about "which is better Porsche or GTR?", or "given the same budget which car could be faster?". For all its worth, you could buy a stock standard brand new WRX and spend $150,000 on it so it could smoke the Z-tune all day everyday. Make no mistake, I do long for a Z-tune I think its the best Skyline ever made and its on the top of my "wish list" along with the 997 GT3.
  16. I agree. As much as we admire some cars of Porsche or Ferrari, we should still be grateful that we have relatively easy access to one of the greatest sports cars and motorsport icons of our time. I mean the Yanks would kill for a Skyline GTR.
  17. From another famous tunner. What do you think?
  18. Camry offer the best VALUE in a car. and still packs a punch from its V6:D
  19. Have to disagree with you there mate. Non enthusiasts who want to show image and status buy 7 series, S class, A8, Phantom and such... Most of those who buy Porsches and Ferraris are enthusiasts with MORE MONEY than the rest. Can you say an 997 GT3 is just for image? An 360 Challenge Stradale is just for show? Think twice. Most of these exotic road based track car owners are serious motorsport enthusiasts who probably have more knowledge on cars than you could ever be. They could afford to buy and experience many more different kinds of sports cars. They could afford to take more time off work. And they are more likely to be able to participate in motorsport events more often, without worring about entry fees, tyre and fuel costs, maintenance, break downs and other concerns you may have. And dont assume these guys wont be the first to own the NEW GTR too. Porsches are for non enthusiasts? I dont think so.
  20. -double post-
  21. Powerplay in Drummoyne;)
  22. Well, what if the 911 owner spend ~$250K (or even $500K) on his car too (and he most probably could afford to) ? Seriously, didnt want silly debates. just thought its an amazing car and wanted to share.
