  1. I just purchased a HKS GTSS turbo kit through greenline, I received a letter from the customs place at Granville saying I had to show how much I payed for what was in the box and also what was it exactly. I showed them my Greenline receipt, which was $3400 ($3150ish for turbos and $250ish for shipping). I was charged 10%GST on the turbo's and then on the shipping. SO added up to a $330 bill plus a $48 fee from customs. So total tax I paid was $380.. which isnt too bad for a turbo kit that i paid $3400 for and retails for $6000 in Australia
  2. I just imported a HKS GTSS turbo kit for my GTR, i bought it through Greenline. Paid $3430, customs wanted 10% GST plus a $48.85 fee (cant remember what for). Total $377 fee. The box was marked as a gift and I showed the receipt from greenline to the customs office. This is the biggest and most expensive item ive had imported and had been lucky enough to of not of paid GST before. So yeh $377 on a $3400 turbo kit isn't bad..Still some $2000 cheaper than buying retail here in Australia.
  3. Thanks for all the input guys... Timing belt has already been done, with a greddy one (pretty noisy though). GTSS Turbo kit finally arrived today albeit with a $377 GST bill from customs which isn't too bad really. Didn't know so much extra stuff comes with the turbo's, exh manifold gaskets, all washers, studs etc..thought that was a good score Engine mounts got replaced today, one was cracked. All belts and spark plugs done aswell. Another interesting thing, the mechanic said the engine has had some work before in australia some time as all the welsh plugs have an A for 'Austral' brand on them. Also non standard colour plugs, the harmonic balancer had been replaced here in aus aswell and it was pretty easy to tell that the block had been sandblasted at some stage.. Unfortunately the budget isn't going to stretch to getting the engine taken apart. Although I would be dong the baffles cams pistons etc etc. I had to draw the line somewhere and i'll be pretty happy when it's all back together. Oh and it did compression test ok last time it was done.
  4. Have all the tomei kit except the head gasket.
  5. I checked mine the other day, its RB26 064*** A. I've talked to several ppl about this and they are all on the impression that the engine number is not progressional like the chassis number..but who knows..mine is a June 94 model.
  6. I found some golf tees in my boot..can't remember exactly but it was like, kur***** country club
  7. Hey, Car hasn't been out of the garage since late march unfortunately.. U do? What car? cos I dont think ive ever seen a gtr in my street other than mine hehe.. Already done N1 water pump but the oil pump and baffles are defintely on the cards..N1 pump $600ish? sump baffles $400ish? That about right? Another thing, I wanna get new spark plugs too. Any recommendations on what type?? will be running about 1 - 1.2 bar
  8. Hey guys, My RB26 is currently out of the car at the minute. Original reason was to replace turbos as i'd rather the piece of mind of a professional doing..ie not me List of parts getting installed are.. GTSS turbo's MINES dump pipes TOMEI intake manifold and throttle butterfly gasket - preventative Thermostat - preventative Tailshaft centre bearing - old one worn and need of replacement NISMO gmax clutch - more power means stock clutch won't like it Now my question for the guys who's done engine out work is, what else SHOULD be replaced while the engine is out of the car?? Engine is just up to 100,000km's. I'm pretty sure i'll get most if not all of the hoses under the plenum replaced, once again more preventative than needed. I'm really trying to spend as little as possible BUT I can't tightarse on any of this.. Also..degreaser is best way to clean up block?? It's pretty greasy n dirty. Any suggestions would be great Cheers Jono

  13. My engine and clutch are coming out next week, so it might be an idea to do the oil pump aswell. Whats a oil pump replacement worth? I thought NISMO ones were pretty damm expensive, but whats a worthwhile replacement without spending heaps??
  14. My best mate has a GTIR engine in his N15 Pulsar.. goes very very hard Not much help for your thread question though hehe Runs GT28RS turbo, bigger cooler, full exhaust etc etc. As someonestolecc said some of the parts are not so easy to get, a custom dump pipe and rest of xhaust had to be made cos we found none 'off the shelf'. Gearbox is a problem but mainly due to only being FWD on this car..still uses GTIR box though. Best 1/4 mile is 12.6@116 and 215fwkw's
  15. Saw a White R34 GTR on the back of a tilt tray this morning on Marsden rd Eastwood. Very stock looking and no number plates.
  16. I have some MINES dump pipes on mine, they are a non split type like the tomei ones. I saw these advertised in japan for a retail of AUD $1000 which is a fair bit more than the HKS dumps. I'm guessing its because of the brand 'MINES' that they are so pricey..dunno really. I picked mine up on ebay for $340 Yet to be on the car, but they're getting installed next week with new HKS GTSS turbo's
