Exactly. Its a bit of a different story when your the person who's forked out $200k or in a position to for a car. Not having warranty is a big issue regardless of cost. If something pops its a major investment of time and money at your own expense to get it back on the road again.

Make: Nissan Model: R32 GTR Milage: 116000 Transmission: GTR Box with OS Giken gearset Colour: Grey Location: Sydney Complied? Yes RWC supplied? No Currently registered? Yes Price: $43000 Contact: <removed> Comments / Modifications: Very fast street car making big power on pump fuel. The car makes 400 kw on wastegate pressure and over 450 on high boost setting (454.9 kw with 98 RON). I've got multiple dyno sheets for any prospective buyers or they can check them out on the computer down at Advan while conducting an inspection. The high trap at WSID of 133 mph was done in full street trim with complete interior with half a tank of pump fuel. The car has currently run a best ET of 11.0 @ 132.87 mph at WSID without being aggressive on it with the R34 GTR wheels and street rubber. Hook up the MT's and you'll run well into the 10s on your first pass out at WSID without doubt! It has GREAT top end power as you can see from the videos. All work carried out by Peter Hopkins at Advan. I'm more than happy to have prospective buyers check out the car on the workshop hoist so they can have a good look over it and see how great condition its in. The car is for sale as I'm keen on doing another build or picking up an R34 GTR. I've all receipts for the car since it's been imported from Japan and from the work I have had carried out with the engine build. Engine was rebuilt 10,000 km ago and has great drivability around town Obviously you can tell from checking out the modifications list that no expense has been spared to build a big power and reliable RB26, this car has never missed a beat and has neck snapping performance. This car is FULLY ENGINEERED with papers detailing all the modifications. The replacement value of the engine alone is worth more than the asking price. Save yourself some money and buy this one! Advan have done heaps of these.

Here, M3's might run $60k in the US, for E46's when they were new, we paid $140k AUD when they were new. We pay more for cars due to our tax structure here.
-
Its also $200k+...
-
If its a daily get the M3. Better looking, easy to run, reliable, goes okay for a stock car (not earth shattering however), great package out of the box, best 6 cylinder engine made, the engine won't ever pop if you maintain it and you can drive it and park it anywhere and not worry that A) someone will f**k with it or B) It won't be there when you get back. Has all the other stuff like TV, Sat Nav, Bluetooth etc which is key in a daily IMO.

Good shit! That's great news
-
Advan built R32 GTR 11.054 @ 132.87 mph. High trap of 133. Full street trim, complete interior, pump fuel (1/2 tank) with street tyres.
-
Hehe yeah I hear you, gets expensive! What route are you going brake wise?
-
Hey Andrew, that's the same Sump Extension I have in my GTR should do the job for you know drama, your using it primarily as a track toy right? How's the build coming along? And the M? Latest news is Motorsport have got the parts to make the gears and are manufacturing them, availability is scheduled for end of May/ June.

Mis-shifted Into 2nd From 3rd At Wsid!
1q2w3e4r replied to R33Turbo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Gotcha, so it was a newish model. Most likely one of the S/C one's that run around. Just do both tests, a leak down and compression test will tell you what shape the engine's in, cost wise it's fairly cheap for peace of mind. -

Standard R32 Gtr Oil Pump Or N1 Gtr Oil Pump?
1q2w3e4r replied to GKTECH's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Get the JUN pump. I've seen N1 pumps fail first hand. Your better off spending a little extra money for the peace of mind and proven product IMO. -
I agree with Nismoid its a shit build if it lasted that short of time before you popped the engine in an M3. They are very resilient engines I'm guessing it's an E36 with a S50B30 or B32 variant. $8k is extremely cheap to rebuild one, you'd generally be looking at well in excess of $12k to do it properly with pistons, rings, bearings and rods. Change the water and oil pumps, gaskets and any work needed on the VANOS. Which BMW workshop was it? Let me guess, Rydalemere or Parramatta? As for running in a rebuilt engine, simply go with what the builder tells you. I'd harbour on the side of babying it a bit, not using full throttle, lots of gear changes and give it some load once you hit 1000k. Depends on if your thinking lies on the side that thrashing it out of the gate for the possibility of a few more ponies is worth the flipside of possibly shortening engine life. Track cars run in on the dyno don't see street use and have different clearences and tollerances and are generally a bit "louder". Just do what you think is best.

Rebuilding Rb26 Bottem End, Is There Anything I Am Missing?
1q2w3e4r replied to BNR32t's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
You can get the Trust one which is for drag racing or one like this from Hi-Octane Alternatively, Advan Performance use a modified sump extension from one of their suppliers as well which I run on my car. Looks not too dissimular to the hi octane kit, but I'm not going to take a guess and say they are in fact one in the same. The Advan supplied one is custom/hand made locally in Sydney. Here's a pic of the Advan one. Obviously this isn't a workshop thread, and I don't want to turn it into one. I'm sure heaps of other workshops are capable of supplying sump extensions, Advan are the only one's I have extensive experience with. -

You should listen to some of these guys as they are giving you good advice. 1000hp is a rediculous amount of power, and you'd be throwing well in excess of $50k at it initally to do it properly without on going running costs etc 400rwkw is a boat load of power for a street car that sees track use occasionally. Ditch the N1 oil pump, they are shit at high power levels and get a JUN item like has been recommended above, also fork out the money and get a crank while your at it and the engine is apart. For the added cost forget a sump baffle kit and go for a sump extension. -

Here's some new pictures of the wheels and tyres for those interested. They are 17 x 8 all around, unfortunantly we couldn't find the offset stamped on the rim for those interested in GTS-T fitment etc. Anymore is more than welcome to come and check them out for themselves however. As you can see plenty of tread and the rims are in great nick, I've photoed the one with a mark in it. -

I will get some better shots in the next few days, or alternatively your welcome to pop into Advan and check them out and speak to Peter. I will endevour to find out what size the rims are and what sized rubber tomorrow, I believe it's 245/45/17 off the top of my head but aren't 100% on it. -

Not without upgrading to a JUN oil pump and the like.
-
JUN oil pump, not an N1. Plenty of failures with them, although not at that power level often.
