Some cops are just aholes. It makes you think to yourself what kind of person would actually go out of their way to book someone for doing absolutley nothing. I swear they do it for a power trip. Losers! i have had the same sort of things happen to me, especially when i was on p plates. I used to drive around my old boys bright red mitsubishi gto with p plates up when i was 17-18 i copped so much bulls**t it was un believeable. The most memorable though would have to be the time i pulled up next to some Knob in a lancer at the lights. Who then when the light went green decided to smoke both wheels all the way across the intersection. Little did he realise that about three cars behind us there was a cop car who had been following me for a while. I saw the cop so i didn't do anything. i took off normally then i saw the coppers lights go on. The guy in the lancer just kept going eventually the cops lights went off and he was stuck behind traffic so i thought he had just let it go. Anyway the cop must have still been following me becasue i pulled into a side street next to a cafe so i could park and get out and have a coffee. Then the copper came screeeching around the corner lights and sirens blaring parked his car in the middle of the road got out like a real cowboy and demanded to see my licence. Ended up booking me for undue noise because according to him i had done a burnout all the way accross the intersection. I was like ummm excuse me officer that was the lancer next to me. Then he proceeded to tell me that he had been in the police force for 25 years and he knows what he saw. Then by this time i was pretty pissed off so i proceeded to tell him that i was driving a 4wd and it doesn't do burnouts (believe me i tried many times to smoke the wheels to no avail). He just wrote the ticket and left and to top it off when he took off he screeched his wheels (which constitutes undue noise) and left. That is not all though. He then went back to the station somehow got my dads home number and rang him. He told my dad that i was involved in a high speed chase was caught doing burnouts and all sorts of things. To which my dad said yeah well why didn't you book him for speeding then!! then the officer was like well i just think you shouldnt let your son drive a car like that. so basically he just pulled me over because he was jealous a hole

Immaculate R34 Gtt...melbourne
mad34 replied to mick34's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
ill swap you a black 1998 r34 gtt tiptronic with blitz fmic 3inch exhaust apexi pod filter. also serviced religiously every 5000 using motul oil. hehehehe i know you are wanting a cheaper car with cash change over but hey i thought id ask anyways as i am looking to replace mine with a manual. -
the sad part is there are rusted out bombs that are blowing smoke getting around yet the coppers will pick on someone who puts better lights in their car so that they can see better at night. I think that our regulations governing roadworthiness leave a lot to be desired. It seems that Lately all that the coppers are targetting is japanese imports. But ah well that wont scare me out of making my car the way i want it as long as it is not a danger to me or anyone else.

yep the globe is't hid thanks everyone the base is closest to a hb3, but i had to modify it a little to get it to fit correctly.
-
if i worried about what is legal or not when modifying my skyline i might as well have bought a commo dumped it put rims on it and be done with it. Half the cops out there have no idea anyway they just know if it is too low or too loud. on the brighter side of things though i have been through a few brethos lately and no cops have said anything about the lights.

i have an r34 gtt. they ripped the xenons out for compliance. i had problems with me left hand lowbeam flicking on and off it endined up being a bad earth so i earthed it a little better that was a temporary fix though it was burning out globes every couple of weeks. so i just converted it back to xenon using a kaixen kit from bos importing. works perfectly now i suggest you get a hid kit or change em back to oem xenon. or you will keep having the same problem. i dont know how i coped with standard halogens they sucked xenons are much better. seeing as its under warranty see if you can get the car dealer to source you some oem xenons. from memory new nissan ones are $2500 good second hands ones were about 1000-1500

i would really like to do this too. Wouldn't know where to start either though. Can someone please do it and put up a diy. $400 is a bit much for a bolt on kit really good idea though should have some out standard like that. as you can see i am lazy i don't wont to figure out how to do it nor do i want to put my bonnet stay up all the time. hehehe
-
hmmm.. that figures because it lights up straight away. Has anyone had to replace the high beam?? what type of globe does it take??
-
i know they look really wierd. there is nothing like it out of a catalogue from either hella or narva or anyone like that. Looks like i have to get the genuine part. i am pretty sure its a hid xenon globe as it has the metal ingnitor.

i have the same problem and its driving me crazy . i have a tiptronic r34gtt. The miss is only under boost and to top it off it doesn't happen all the time. i am running iridiums gapped to 0.6 it only happens every now and then aghhhhhh ...mostly when the engine is hot, but sometimes when it is cold. someone said something about the std ecu making it richer when it is boosting more than std and that makes it miss?? i checked my coils and they looked brand new even smelt like new plastic. seeing as it works most of the time i dont think it is them because usually coils are either stuffed or working there isn't really an in between. What i might try is cleaning my coils thouroughly then coating the inside of the rubber boot with dielectric grease. That is the only thing i can think of.

What do think about R 34 GT-T
mad34 replied to 1Winner1's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i have a 34gtt. Absolutely fantastic car!!!. However, my brother has a 1997 gtst that has been modded to the max. suspension, bigger turbo, brakes, major head work, greddy plenum, drag intercooler etc. His car for roughly the same money as a bone stock 34 is a far superior car. 33's are still phat either way you look at it. I cannot even begin to keep up with him on the freeway or in the hills. So all in all i would say apart from the looks they are fairly similar and both fantastic platforms to modify or keep in stock trim and use as an everyday car. I think the decision really rests on whether you want to have a racer or an everyday car. The 34 is more unique there are less around and in close to stock trim say with an exhaust and fmic and filter go fairly hard really (good for an everyday car). But If you are a mad man like my brother and have the need for speed, for the same money as a 34 you can have a absolutely mental 33 which not much would keep up with straight line or in the hills. -

Automatic Transmission Shift Kit. - Updated Oct 2006
mad34 replied to 4door_Sleeper's topic in Group Buys
Yeah that probably helped it. lol so you are happy with the whole package?? i drive a large distance to work and need it to still be smooth when being driven normally. you said something about it dropping revs too much?? are you using standard ecu? sorry to ask so many questions but seeing as you have already done it i may as well ask.
