  1. Oh, that's strange.. Have bought two imports in two states, neither has had a working CD, but both had working radio and tape. Neither unit was fixed under warranty, but both cars had other items replaced such as milometer and items needed for Vic RWC.
  2. Nope.. It never worked when they bought the car in from Japan, so why should they fix it for me... A very high percentage of the 6 stacks break on the boat because they did not park the mech before loading them on the boat. Loads of them break in Japan, because they are made of plastic... Just one of those things.. And also why I have a PAS11.Nis sitting on the floor in my office as well as Griffin Tune Center and a IF remote extender... I will get it all working soon with display on the Panasonic screen...
  3. Dealer will only cover this if it was working when you first looked at the car. If it was never working, then they do not have to do anything...
  4. Massively common aftermarket item on cars in Japan. Saw it fitted to my various Japanese collegues Civic, Avensis Verso, 3-Series M pack, Golf and even antique Volvo wagon... So anyone got an auto dipping interior mirror? You know, for when the guy behind is not blessed like us, with height adjustable headlamps...
  5. The Americans use a diffent standard to measure Octane (AKI (anti knock index, an average of RON and MON)), so US 87 is actually the same as the 91 (RON) Octane muck we get here. Hence why we can export Commodes over there... Their 91 (AKI) Premium is about 95-96 , same as our entry Premium and the European normal. Recently they also started to get Supreme 94 (AKI) which is about the same if not better as our 98 Premium... Europen Premium was 97 but has crept up over the years and now is about 99, so my friends in the UK tell me. So they are getting better... Now once Ben gets the 350RX complianced, there should be some synergies with this Cobb option...
  6. Spotted a silver, like they come in other colours..., V35 coupe with Infiniti G35 badging, at the Caltex in Berwick last Wednesday afternoon. I was in a silver M35 Stagea and was going to say hi, but he shot off in front of me.
  7. Definately glued for the ceramic wheels that I was certain of, on the RB25DET and the Soarer TT engines... Maybe the bolt is to hold it on whilst the glue is curing? Also don't knock glue, holds the wings on 747's.....
  8. Any thoughts on the lack of low down torque compared to our turbos? The VQ35DE does need some revs to make it do its stuff compared to the VQ25DET.
  9. With the talk about these ceramic exhaust wheels... It is not the itself wheel failing, they are usually fine.. What happens is that when they get get too hot from being over boosted beyond their design limits, the glue holding them onto the shaft fails, and so the wheel falls off, and end up in the cat... This may ping off bits of the turbine. Also the fitment of the plastic intake wheel as on the RB25DET, not sure what it is on the VQ25DET, is not on it's own a bad thing. The plastic wheel is light, and so is able to spin up faster than a metal one, therefore boosting more quickly than a steel wheel equiped turbo. And if you want to see a ceramic turbo that really hates to be boosted above design specs, speak to the JZZ30 2.5TT Soarer guys, and they have two of them failing...
  10. I woud imagine that this might have been screwed up when they removed your Xenons during compliance. I would get onto the dealer you bought the car from or the compliance workshop. They really should sort this out for you, especially if you are still in the manditory 3 month warranty period.
  11. So anyone found a working 6 disc CD on Yahoo Auctions yet? Not the whole facia and controls, just the CD/Tape/Radio bit..
  12. Actually this is a complete can of worms with some manufacturers claiming full time AWD when they don't have it... Subaru actually have 4 different AWD systems, depending on engine and transmission options. I won't go into too much detail, but only manual Subarus actually have full time AWD. All the automatics have a clutch pack replacing the centre active diff, or viscus coupling, of the manual versions. That makes them part time AWD, same as our Nissans. But hey, when have marketing guys ever worried about the truth...
  13. Does this mean that there is light at the end of the tunnel for Muz and the other guys with 04MY turbos? Or are they still buggered?
  14. You still have round tips, like stock but bigger and dual walled... Same as I had with the GTR exhaust on the R33.. Its the square tips that she hates... Hope she will be fine with a large oval or even almost retangular exhaust... But that is some time away... Just counting down to the next credit card cut off date so that I can get the iPod stuff ordered. Then sway bars, then exhaust.. and still need to get it detailed.. All covered in mud at the moment.. Quiet trip down to the farm to watch trees being dropped required locking the centre diff to get back out onto the road... Father in law was so positive that we were going to get bogged, he had already got the tractor started...
  15. My wife took one look at the exhaust on that car on the website and banned me from buying it... Now if I had know then that the dual outlet on the stock exhaust was a fake then I might have had a better look around Ben's workshop when I collected the car.... That reminds me, must drop Ben a line, the new rear window button they sent did not fix the window release problem...
  16. But also, all my woodgrain, the steering wheel and the centre trim is all genuine Nissan accessory.. Fitted at huge cost when car was brand new.. It really has grown on me, and does suit the ARX interior, but I do miss not being able to fit the steering wheel audio and cruise controls... Even if I had the money...
  17. Nope... More like this...
  18. Really would give Ben a call... Might be worth Tony giving it all a quick once over and I'm sure than Ben would also go through the menus with you...
  19. It also getting information from the steering wheel so that it turns the rears in the correct direction... But... if you are worried, I'm sure you could just remove the Super HICAS system, and install a locking bar like many of the R33 and R34 guys... It's probably the same part.
  20. Nagoya Motors had a blue RS with factory cruise.... Would have been perfect if it had been fitted on my AR-X. And because of my Momo steering wheel, I cannot use Chris' solution.. Buttons won't fit... Need cruise... if only to improve the fuel consumption..
  21. How many of us now in Vic? Seems to be a rush on... Your fault Cam... Welcome to the club Scott. Did you have to get it from NSW like the rest of us?
  22. Coming from an R33 GTS-T, I have always been led to believe that split is better than bellmouth.. But on the RB25s you get a combined dump and front pipe replacement, that seperates the wastegate and turbine gases all the way to the single cat. Aparentlty the power benifits are huge... With the M35s having a much shorter run from the turbo into the next cat, are the split benefits more margional, like those little dump replacement pipes for the RB26s?
  23. Couldn't get this to work on my AR-X. Can't get to the stage where the indicators flash.. Don't know if that has anything to do with my Aussie spec imobiliser that uses a "dongle" on the keyring rather than a remote. Any ideas?
  24. Or it could be the Commode problem of when heavily loaded the tyre comes into intimate contact with the rear suspension... Knew someone with a VY Ute who put on new tyres before relocating to Melbourne. Put his entire life in the rear tray, and by the time he got to Mel had worn parts of the tyre down to the canvas...
  25. Fark!!! Just checked... Only the outside one is connected to anything!! I feel cheated.. At least the OEM R33 GTS-T muffler was a genuine twin outlet. On the plus side, a new muffler, now counts as a performance mod, rather than just a cosmetic change...
