V36 Aftermarket Part Suppliers?
nickcorr replied to Simink's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Agreed... Most likely the service manager or the DP has taken 1 look at your Skyline and gone get that out of here... They would absolutely be able to do the work, as it is mechanical, and charge you an arm and a leg, but it is not something their head office would be too happy about... -
V36 Aftermarket Part Suppliers?
nickcorr replied to Simink's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Would be worth checking to see if the 370Z parts are the same... -
I think that is the generic build date, my car is 000186 so was in first batch of KV36 and is December 2008 production, given the number of the car you are looking at, I would say it is 2009 production but would still be 2009 Model Year same as mine. 2010 Model Year (so from around November December 2009 build date) gets the new interior and foglights in the bumper etc...

and front underbrace.... This is one of the main area's that Nissan redesigned and reinforced between the V35/Z33 compared to V36/Z34.. And cheap as chips.. -
V36 Nav And Language Swap - Faq
nickcorr replied to Chris Rogers's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
So will the 2012 Infiniti Q60 set up work in an 09 Skyline? Very interested to see how this all pans out... Lover the later hi-res screen and the USB inputs in the arm rest as well as posibility of AUS Nav. -
The newer KV36 do not appear on the free VIN look up sites as the databases they use are too old... My copy of FAST also has the same issue. I know that when I was looking at my car, someone on this site who worked in a Nissan dealership looked it up in their system for me. Also, I think you will be lucky to get that car landed within your budget have a play with the calculator xls on the Prestige site to get an idea of the additional costs.

Or get one fabbed up locally? Any thoughts or experience on this?

The stuttering issue? Is that on the 3.5s or the 3.7s? Not noticed anything on my 3.7 Would it be covered under dealer warranty in NZ? And I would also think a lot more mechanics would be able to fix up any issues on imports in NZ because of the different regulations and just the shear volume of them..... I know that when I had my R33, my local AUS Repco contacted their NZ collegues for the service and parts info. Were able to confirm things like the VL water pump being a suitable replacement part. This is a 350GT Type S with Infinity badges fitted... Steering wheel still says Nissan and I bet the stereo does as well... :-) On the V36, anything with a S (Type S and Type SP) have the paddle shit and 18"'s. Type P has no paddle shift and is also on 17"'s

Fs: Cruise Controls For V35 & M35 - Diy Install
nickcorr replied to Commsman's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Was one of the best things that I did for my M35 Stagea... As I had a non OEM steeting wheel (Momo) the OEM switches did not fit, so I used the stalk included with the kit. If only the kit I fitted to my V36 had been as good as Leon's... The steering wheel mounted controls were a huge pain to fit, do not look as good and do not have the preset speeds which I got on the stalk in Leon's kit.. Adding cruise to your V35 or M35 is something you will not regret... -
I was in this situation and so went for the high km (130k) KV36, with the slightly better interior and 3.7/7 speed, for very little more than a lower km PV36. In addition, the KV36's tend to have better paint work, as they got the GT-R self healing paint, so if you check the auction sheets, they have noticibly less scratches identified by the inspectors.. If I had my time again, I agree with sonicii and would hold out for the 2010+ as they have the USB ports, hi-res display screen, better again interior, better looking with front fogs mounted in the lower bumper... But I do love my car, and am glad I got the newest car I could afford, as I try to do... Being a Brit, I am not scared of a few kms... Got mates who were regularly doing over 50,000 miles a year, and in my last couple of years in the UK I was doing over 20,000 miles a year in my own car.

Ecutek Flash Tune Dyno Results
nickcorr replied to The Max's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
8 or 9 l/100km is the norm on a decent freeway run, in 7th at around 2,000 rpm on cruise... Kids to school is more like 12 l/100km, which is still slightly better than the M35 Stagea 2.5 Turbo that we used to have. This is measured from the OBD2 port using a Garmin bluetooth device. Loving having full OBD2 compliance... -
Ecutek Flash Tune Dyno Results
nickcorr replied to The Max's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
So how much did the UpRev work out? And is there a fuel consumption benefit? With the 3.7 it is already doing 8-9l/100km on a run, but just curious to see if the tune affects it. -
Wanted: 2007 V36 Sedan Oem Shocks.
nickcorr replied to MDCAT's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I think that the 350Z suspension would only fit on a V35 coupe and sedan. The V36 series vehicles share their suspension with the 370Z. Maybe there is comminallity in the struts and springs, but would be safest to get something off a 370Z or as offered another V36... -
Looking At Buying V36 350Gt Type Sp---But--
nickcorr replied to BASHO's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Yes I agree, in my experience, very few importers compliance the car before it is actually sold and for all of my cars I saw at least the auction sheet when I went to inspect the car. I have also seen in some Sydney car yards, vehicles which are unregistered, but have compliance plates dated over 2 years and 20,000 km ago.... -
When mine was changed the O'Brien fitters would not fit the "generic" moudings as they would look rubbish. They got someone from the office to call me, and they ordered the the proper OEM ones from Japan thru Nissan Ferntree Gully. Was like a 4 week wait, but when they came in, the fitters popped back and dropped the new screen and mouldings in.. This was done through Shannons.

M35 Perf Parts From V35/36 Z33/34
nickcorr replied to rickskylinebnr32gtrjp's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
What he said.... -
Bose system has amps and also low impedance speakers. Driving them directly would give problems on several levels.. Might be worth fitting some quaility front speakers and disconnecting the rears. That should fix the issue, as well as sounding better... Assuming that the new head does not wierdly have caught the same problem as the old one...

370 Gt P Sway Bar
nickcorr replied to Skyline 370GT P's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Just installed the Whiteline 370Z swaybars front and rear on my 370GT sedan... Could not believe the weight difference between OEM and aftermarket... Also noticed that I will have to get back under the car to replace the rear links.. I knew I should have ordered the whole set... Once it stops raining, will go out and see how much difference it makes... -
Thanks for that, my Chrome translator has always called it Fobu... different type of leather to the black and beige and manditory with the faux wood interior... So much better than the beige but strangely less popular.. Only ever saw one sedan with tan and cruise.... Gave up on both in the end..
-
love the tan interior... Looks great..

My 370GT came thru Luxury and Performance Vehicles. Didn't really like the cars that they had in stock, but Frank was happy to get a car in for me. I was involved in the process, with both of us suggesting cars from the auction sites, thus also ensuring I got to see the proper auction sheets. They then purchased the car, and I paid them a deposit. All though the process i was kept in the loop down to the ship the car was on when it was in the post. Got to see the car, before it was complianced, so had the option of rejecting it then, if I was not happy. For me the icing on the cake was the ability to trade in my M35 AR-X stagea. I ended up with a higher mileage vehicle, but newer and thus 3.7 rather than 3.5 also with most of the options I wanted, in a colour I was happy with. Have kept in touch with them, and next time I am near Bayswater, they will get my second key programmed, as the car only arrived with one.
