  1. I did a bit of a dig after your comment. I couldnt find any mention of auto failures, only diff issues. The 170kw V6 has got the old plugger 4 speed auto on it. It pretty robust. I actually have been under my car a fair bit when I put the tow bar on and refitted the LPG tank. There is a HUGE counterweight bolted to the diff for god knows what reason. I expect that was done to damp any vibrations from the diff, cause of earlier diff noise issues. Mine was built in the last month of manufacture so I expect all of these fixes are already on my car.
  2. They reduced the tray load capacity on the SS V8 Crewman for some reason but it's tow rated to 2500kg. You could only get the load rating as well as the V8 by ordering a Crewman S and optioning the V8. The Crewman and the Crewman S V6 are tow CAPACITY 2100kg and a load tray capacity of 1100kg. I would love a V8 on gas in my car instead of the V6 on gas but needed the tray load rating and they didnt have any V8's during the run out when I got mine. The SS V8 tray load max weight is lower than the others but its tow capacity is 2500kg. If you could find a good used Crewman Cross8. That would be the ideal tow car. 4WD, V8 and the high load rating, perfect.
  3. Changed how many rear tyres Ben ?? The IRS on these is a JOKE. My mate had had 3 sets on the back in 50K Only Commodore/ute that can really tow properly is the VZ Crewman crew cab which has a live rear axel and 2500kg towing capaity. Preferably with a V8. I have a 6 cylinder one which is marginal/good for towing a car but is great otherwize. Having said that. You will prob not have an issue cause you car/trailer is so light. The massive trailer and the zed on it where pushing 2000kg. It was a very long trip from QLD.
  4. Its a bit more than a coincendence that this overheating issue happened after the new turbos where fitted. Mekes me wonder if one of the feed lines is either blocked or twisted reducing coolant flow to them. I expect that your engine out will find/fix the issue even of it is a leaking head gaskett. well done on the lap time mate. SMOKIN
  5. Plenty of nice sized garages. wonder how much they will go for? I want the RED one !! LOL Can someone drop it off in Melbourne ?
  6. What is really needed is a 10klm stretch of the Eastlink tollway. Organize that will you and let me know when it is please We should be able to go fast enough to beat the speed cameras. LMFAO
  7. I still have 6 aussie made Rheem jerry cans going strong after 20 years. I would be looking for good used steel fuel cans if I was you Duncan. There is a few on ebay ATM
  8. Brackets are steel so that should be fine. Is that the red alloy thing you brought down to Melb ?? I never liked that LOL
  9. CAMS approved and $26.99 They dont get much cheaper. http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-st...=128750#details
  10. They where not the arms I was talking about. But then misread your post that you had an R33. His new arms are for R32 and Z32. Sorry.
  11. Buy neither. None of the Ikeya ones is as good as the ones UAS have just finished making. JP's will be cheaper and better. I suggest you call and ask John about them. The rear lower arms are very good from Ikeya but are very expensive.
  12. Suggest you get the old tyres removed before shipping Neil. You dont want to pay the extra cost for the weight and volume of the tyres that you wont use.
  13. Radical was pretty reliable. Only sticking point was getting the right side rear alloy wheel nut off. Neil busted his 3/4 Impact driver which he uses to run up the wheel nuts. It was stuck on TIGHT. The anti sieze wasnt quite up to it and the right side rear nut bound up tight on the hub there was a fair bit of alloy galling between the wheel and the nut. We tried everything to get it off. Ended up drilling it out so we could undo it. Pity was Neil missed a session cause of this. But the new tyres he put on after this where fanstastic he said.
  14. Was a pleasure Duncan was great having you guys down here.
  15. I think the guy on the tiller was driving somewhere else. He didnt seem to be at Phillip island despite the car going around the track Has to be one running to win Duncan
  16. LOL JFK and I had a discussion about how V motors are gonna rule all when he finishes his new GTO and I finish the Z32 Extra torque for the win
  17. He was next to us at Phillip island over the weekend. He has a nice Purple GTR that was giving him back a lot of love. It was damn quick. He also has a new Red GTO totally stock that he was running as well. We had a good talk about his plans for the GTO. He is planning a major diet for it as well as some decent turbos. Nice guy actually, but very focussed on the task. Even had his own PIT crew this time.
  18. You are a soft cock John
  19. Duncan, You have organized a PWR dual pass for this weekend havent you? You need the 57mm thick one
  20. Just when you head out of the gates of the track. There is a sign about a motor cycle guy in cowes. I have never been there but i am sure he could change your tyres Neil. I must say i havnt seen a car tyre place on the Island but that doesnt mean there isnt one. Edit: seems there is ONE. 21. After tinkering with Duncans car today. No one better tell me Z32's are hard to work on anymore. I HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION ALL 1990'S NISSANS ARE MADE EQUALLY DIFFICULT. . What a dumb place to put a thermostat. Dont worry Neil. I am sure our burns will heal fast. I am sure it wont take long for the local IGA to replenish stock of distilled water after the run on stock they had today wiped it out.
  22. I have for a sale a pair or rear calipers from a Porsche 996 GT3. They are Brembo Monoblock style They suit 330mm x 28mm thick rotors and are radial mount. Being radial mount it is qite easy to make adaptors for them. They are big enough you could even use them to upgrade front brakes on smaller cars. They are in good nick and dont have any seal leaks, Apart from a bit of missing paint and pad mounting pins they are ready for use. There are bendix pads listed for these so you dont have to buy expensive porsch pads. Price is $650 posted Australia wide. I was going to use them on my track car but turns out they are too big and dont match the 350z calipers that are going on the front of the car.
  23. You will find out I am usually all talk when it comes to getting pissed. Too old, with memories of many sore heads, over too many years to bash it too hard these days. 2 weeks and a bit to go I will see you at the Super cars Saturday week with a spanner in my hand thou. You can't go to the " ISLAND" without a pitcrew.
  24. Thats good, we will need someone to drive us to the track !!
