Was just looking today and stumbled upon this Both are from launceston Tas. Both have birthday on the same date both have same job and one started posting when the other stopped posting. Was just wondering. I think Nismojo was the brother of the moderator of the tas section (slaz) but he's never on here either. Cheers Lavers.

I agree with u Phorj on the Brock part but not Richards. How could u have a go at the very guy who started the godzilla fanfare. I just don't think its right that you walk in every night to the exhibition and their is the brock monaro being stripped down to pieces while every other car is just parked. Unlucky Targa Tom but thats motorsport hope u guys push hard and turn a few heads over the rest of the event. Hope to see u on Saturday at Symmons Lavers.

Yeah Rex I'm pretty sure that was only a GTSt that crashed out on the Sidling Probably Targa Toms. Cheers Lavers.
-
Yeah Kerry Lucks Gtst he's an old friend of my dads from school, claims the gtst is "to slow" for Targa. Guess u get that after driving a porsche and v8 torana. Also Targa Tom's Gtst is in Targa but his is M-spec. PS. I'll put my pics up soon. Cheers Lavers

Also Does anyone know what has happened to targa tom? he was given a dnf on the sidling stage this morning so something must have com up?
-
Just checked guys Greg garwood has moved into the lead followed by Sullens in a 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX STi S202 then Jason White. Thats after the sidling stage, only stage up at the moment. Interesting cause Jason didn't think that Garwood would be able to keep up that speed the next day. Come on the Skyline Lavers

Posters Poll (please take part in this).

I say definately go with the track photo's. Why would you want a racecar with the photo taken in the studio. Have them in their own environment on the track. Would be awesome to have a drift pick of the 30 and 31 skyline. Just my 5 cents worth Lavers. -
Yeah pretty sure it was the car of beables was that the one which had all the different layers of paint. They were doing the head gasket replacement by themselves in the dark out the front of the silverdome. So best of luck to them hope they made it to todays racing. Cheers Lavers

Have to disagree with u all Jason and John Whites R34 Gtr is the best looked like it was on rails the way it was moving the other day and is definately one of the quickest things out there. This year their running less boost 1.7 Bar instead of 2 Bar and also less revs I think to try and solve the Head Gasket problems. Hope to see you all still running hard at Symmons on Saturday. Cheers Lavers

Well done to the Whites yesterday equal first with Greg Garwood (GT3) also seven seconds in front if Jim Richards, they said yeaterday that they reckon they can keep up this speed for the whole event. Might finally be a win for the skyline in Targa if they don't break down again. All we have to do is pray for rain on Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately their was a skyline broken down out the front of the silverdome last night blown head gasket I think so it wasn't really a great day for all the skylines. Hope you guys all go well. Cheers Lavers
-
Guess no one on here wants to get involved? Oh well guess I'll just sit on the fence again.
-
G'day guys I reckon with all the Skylines comin' down for targa we should show a little tassie hospitalioty and put on a barbie or something for them. I was thinking maybe lunch on Saturday don't know about a place but I'm sure we could find somewhere even if its someones backyard. So come on guys lets get workin and organise something for our fellow sau'ers Cheers Lavers.

Jim Richards publicly says that he only drives between 6 and 8 tenths for the whole event in Targa. Also he probably saw how well Brock did in the RWD Monaro so if he can do it so can Richards. I think we all know who is a better driver. Also does anyone know if all four tyres on the porsche are the same size cause if so he can roate tyres around the car something he couldn't do last year. The whites are always quick but in Targa u need reliability. My tip is the Porsche will still dominate for the next couple of years. What we really need is a factory backed nissan team or for nissan to get off their arse's and build the R35 that will be the car to win targa. Hope to see heaps of u down here. Cheers Lavers.

Hey Tim you said you were somehow involved with targa because of your dad. Could you possibly do me a favour and get hold of a spare official pass so that I can get into the silverdome for free and get a good look at scrutineering. Cheers lavers

Can't wait. How many of you guys on the Forum are coming over for undoubtebly the best car event in Aus. Would be great to have an SAU get together for a barbie or something just before Targa. Cheers Lavers.

Would love to be on a support crew but can't because i've got school that week. Bugger Hope this can help in some way. P.S. If anyone else running in Targa wants any help just PM me. Cheers Lavers.

G'day guys driving home tonight I saw two Skyline Gtr's fully prepped for targa in pink with Donut king signage. Guess this marks the start of cars coming in for targa. for anyone who wanted a look they are at the suspension shop don't know the name opposite "store it safe" in Invermay. Cheers Lavers

300z crashes into second storey of building
Lavers replied to Lavers's topic in General Automotive Discussion
G'day guys here is the article from the herald sun along with a piccie. Airborne car flies into factory Holly Ife and Cameron Smith 04mar04 A DRIVER cheated death when his car flew 60m through the air through a factory wall. The man, in his 20s, walked away after he smashed through the second storey of the Scoresby factory just after midnight yesterday. Police believe he was travelling about 140km/h on Koornang Rd when he missed an intersection. The high-powered turbo car jumped a gutter, scraped across the footpath and up a bank before hitting the exhaust manufacturing company's wall at a height of 15m. Scoresby CFA fireman Jim Read said the accident was unprecedented. "Having been in the fire brigade since 1969, I have never seen anything like that before," he said. The Nissan 200ZX destroyed one office used by management as well as a canteen and the factory's huge heater. A worker told the Herald Sun the car smashed through lights hanging from the 9.5m ceiling, missing a high-voltage wire by centimetres. Police found the man trying to find a way out of the building. He had minor cuts and bruises on his arms. He was taken to the Dandenong Hospital where he was kept overnight for observation. It is believed he has told police he blacked out before the accident and could not remember anything. Owner of the factory building, Leonard Abbey, said he first knew of the accident when security alarms were activated. "I reluctantly dragged myself out of bed and came down . . . It was one of the weirdest things I have ever encountered," Mr Abbey said. Fleetguard Australia business development manager Feroze Chowdary said the accident could have been a tragedy if it had occurred just one hour before. "The afternoon shift finishes at 10.30pm -- we had people working all over the factory just an hour before," he said. Cheers Lavers. -
Did anyone else hear anything about this? All I heard was that the 24 year old was driving at approx 200km/h and jumped off the end of the road then landed in the second storey of some warehouse building. Lucky to be alive. From the pictures I think it was a silver 300z. But was just refered to as an imported nissan sports car. Cheers Lavers
