  1. oh a side note removing the reo bar will also get you defected, and it's not as easy as swapping out a part.
  2. cuts both ways I guess, as long as the inspection itself does not impede on the company's ability to continue working then as the autoworx guy says random 'no notice' inspections won't hurt (although it's probably annoying). If you're being targeted and it interrupts your ability to do your job then that's when a workshop should complain.
  3. today tonight will spoil your fun with 'skateboarders' doing 80km/h on the road
  4. hmm not quite sure of the newsworthy status...noone got injured? any public interest concerns with the driver being well known or something? someone will lose their licence for about 6 months perhaps? If so, the newspapers should be reporting every person that gets caught drink driving or worse driving under suspension as these can carry penalties above that. Seems they only report on incidents of speeding/'hooning'.
  5. ah too early for me...1am maybe
  6. Camry - no problem, Evo - maybe, but still I hardly expect redlining the car during a demo drive, they'd probably push it up to 6000rpm though. I would think those inspections would just waste your money, if you're that paranoid then save a little longer and buy new. if you're not fussed by someone previously having a go in your car then buy a demo to save a bit, bearing in mind the reduction in resale due to old plates and 2nd owner. The dealer always says they can only knock off a little, but the reality is the demo probably needs to be gone to make way for an MY11 demo and they want to get rid of it. Unless I was saving at least 10% off the new price I wouldn't bother, everyone knows a car loses that amount as soon as it's reg'd.
  7. It's considered public drinking which is illegal...just like consuming alcohol in your car is public drinking too. but do it quietly and they might cut you some slack.

    M'mates Place

    probably needs work then
  9. may seem stupid but have you checked the bulbs aren't blown? may not have popped a fuse but may have taken out the bulb.
  10. lol happened a while back, Gosen's been at the wheel of both now. since R35 was being developed. more car companies going to be developing together to get better economies of scale, been that way since toyota/holden and ford/mazda and before that datsun/alfasud I think had an illfated go at it.
  11. you're only real option then is to get a few mates around and take turns during pit stops...it's like real racing!
  12. enjoy the cruise but remember it is still double demerits until the 9th.
  13. woah I don't condone violence but...next time just set fire to his tyres haha no don't do that, there's bound to be cctv around there I get so pissed when the wife puts stuff on our car and then more so on other people's cars. I don't care if it looks like a crapbox, you just never put stuff on a car. Old car's bootlid was all scratched from her doing it, super annoyed.
  14. back on topic...car for under $10k, a falcodore is best value, otherwise a small runabout if you want lower running expenses. back off topic...why do you need a $10k car if you don't have a licence anyway? I've been driving for 15 years and have yet to get a speeding ticket (will probably get one now ) Do I think the speeding rules are stupid? Well to a point. We all know that certain roads and traffic conditions can accommodate some types of speeds, I could probably do 150km/h down my surbuban 50km/h street without any problems but in that scenario it is the inattentive pedestrian that could be at risk. The freeways I could do 150km/h easy and I think there's a good argument for that to happen but the fact is until the government stops chasing the easy money by focusing on speeding, which is much easier to catch/detect than say tailgaiting or dangerous driving, then you're just going to have to be careful and watch your speed when you drive. Failing to do so will lead to...well you already know. Petition your government MP for more realistic speed limits although from the position you're in you probably don't have much say given your record.
  15. looks to me like it has the stock stagea running gear which is the VQ25DET? I don't know what the stock stagea runs sorry why oh why didn't they go the whole hog and stick in the R35 interior, VR38DETT, and widen the rear fenders so that the front cut doesn't look so out of place.
  16. well if you're flooring it with that sort of power then you can expect 1st and 2nd gear to be quite touchy so you have to feather the throttle or fit wider tyres? otherwise if what you're saying is you want to blow off a V8 at the lights then...well you're not chasing top end then, you'd want to adjust the tune for greater low end/mid range for that take off...but seriously if you want to just blow away bogans at the lights then you don't need 270kw to see who can get to 60km/h quickest.

    Stolen

not from SA so can't say, but does the car have any notable parts that might be sold?
  18. it's time to kill Han, maybe F&F6 is the time to do after tokyo drift by Vin going to tokyo to avenge Han? that way they can start using new cars without everyone wondering how there's new cars in a somehow older movie?
  19. the initials are randomly put with a bunch of surnames from a list...some of the surnames are typos on purpose I would think, like Weber I saw. still haven't tried online yet, think I want to get all the gold licences
  20. oh yeah I forget that about the 350z being a pure 2 seater...it's why I said she could get away with an MX5 auto, you know they probably haven't been thrashed and only owned by a hairdresser. yeah I've been to enough Burmese concerts...don't go much anymore...you may know the Nwe sisters.
  21. my wife's burmese does that count? anyway, I prefer the FD for looks and driving around...but as everyone has pointed out the oil and fuel consumption don't make it very daily friendly especially for someone who is not a car nut. If she just wants 'sporty looks' then I think the V35 coupe in auto would be great value given how cheap they are. Resale value is an issue though with any sports car with an auto so she can pick it up cheap but she'll have to let it go cheap. For the $20k mark she's looking at you can get something like this black V35 although I'd never buy an auto or black car for myself others could be even an MX-5 if she doesn't want something particularly fast and more for show.
  22. think I might acquire a new acer notebook...with an hitachi drive inside.
  23. I will sex you up
  24. I had a punter who got done for something very similar, road rage and beer bottle thrown at another vehicle. Short story is you can get the guy charged and hopefully convicted, you don't need witnesses other than yourself, but of course more witnesses help in securing a conviction. Police may not want to take it up because of the 'too hard' basket but I would be persistent with the complaint if you actually want to take it further.
  25. For rolling guards I guess that can sometimes be a bit hit and miss, but putting tyres on the wrong way...that's a poor effort for a business to get wrong.
