  1. try http://www.nengun.com/catalogue/product/20 cheaper than anything i've seen on ebay
  2. I'm just a layman, but i would presume you do not need to change your drivetrain to put an rb26dett motor. Just try and get a hold of one without the gearbox, as you wont need it. Just the same as putting one in any gtst. but yeah, you'd be seriously biting off a big chunk to convert from 2wd to AWD. What a nightmare!!! and what are you getting - a gtr that looks like a gtst... Why bother, other than for people to laugh at you when you tell them how much it cost to do. Get an r33 GTR if you want 4wd, you can pick em up for under 40's now
  3. also check all of your coils... I'm not sure of the set up of yours but some are prone to cracking if you overtighten them... also if you changed them 100k's ago, is there any chance of water ingress etc? things like this suck, it could be wiring, or it could be coincidence that it just happened after you were playing! good luck with it dude. I agree with wet, check the easy (simple) things first!
  4. I take that type s bov will pay postage no sweat pm'ed
  5. That was a completely different event. he (the "officer") drove off, remember?
  6. No. but truckies aren't in a place of authority, where their actions are eligible to be scrutinised by the greater public. By and large, truckies are renowned for not taking shit. It was a power play on the behalf of the officer, and he lost. Why did the officer not produce ID? It's his job! So the truckie asks again and the "cop" then pulls a gun? what then? It would hold up in a court of law, good enough for me. On the other hand, if some idiot was being, well, an idiot, and the officer pulled him up, greeted by a volley of abuse, I'd give the officer a pat on the back for flogging some sense into him! Bottom line, respect your position, and respect others, otherwise sooner or later it'll come back to bite you in the arse.
  7. It has actually happened, in the past, that a truck driver was pulled over, he asked the cop for ID, and the "officer" got back in his car and drove off. So yeah, I dont think the driver was in the wrong at all. But in reality, if you get pulled up by an officer, and he and his accomplice in the undercover car end up flogging your car, wouldn't you wish you had asked him for ID? would it be completely out of the question that this could occur? In which case, couldn't you be perfectly able, in a court of law, to defend yourself on the grounds that you feared for your safety/posessions due to the so called officer acting in an unprofessional/aggressive manner thereby raising suspicion inyour mind that he may infact, not be an officer at all? Is it not a valid expectation for them to act in a professional manner at all times? The way i see it, if they're going to abuse their powers, then it's open game. get them for every pissy little infringement. there is a case where someone got off a fine because the officer was not wearing his hat! I should clarify, that if you ARE wilfully breaking the law, that I believe you should cop it sweet. What really gets up my nose, is victimisation, ie my mate on a bike, following a car and not gaining, and the cop pulls HIM up, even though the car passed first. Geeeee.... Hell, If the Prime Minister can get done for speeding/no seatbelt/ etc, who the hell do officers think they are to think they can break the law whenever they feel like it?
  8. I never said that i had definitively decided. but it's a little difficult to understand a cop go flying past you in one direction, only to go flying back past you in the other direction, and then see them pulled up at the roadhouse on the side of the road 5 minutes later. Maybe the emergency was his chips getting cold or something. maybe i should clarify. you still have every right to complain, if you BELIEVE they are breaking the law for no good reason. Wrong. There is only one wrong. The truck driver had every right to use force he deemed necessary in the situation. The officer acted suspiciously, by being apprehensive to the request to show his badge, simple as that. If an officer asked you to show him your licence, would you angrily refuse? didn't think so. It's exactly the same the other way. They are obliged to co-operate and show ID. I would also say they are obliged to operate in a professional manner at all times. correct, along with most people here. And it seems that you DO. So why dont you educate people as to what their rights ARE, instead of being an obnoxious prick and using your apparently vastly superior intellect in an attempt to belittle them, which only serves to strengthen their resolve. methinks you like feeling "better" than others. I'm sure the force is doing a recruit drive soon!
  9. I agree with you there wishaw. But i also believe it is an abuse of power to make your details known to the officer in question, OR to be victimised because you made a complaint. call me cynical... Abusing power is not just relegated to the streets regarding traffic infringements. It is - Lying in court fabricating evidence in court conspiring with other officers Smiling at you as you leave the court room. This has happened to a few people I know. .
  10. lol yeah, I TOTALLY agree with you there. The world is being overrun by idiots. Maybe it's those same idiots abusing their power in the police force!
  11. what alot of people forget, including the police, is that they are here to SERVE the general public. they are public SERVANTS. the way I see it, if i see an officer breaking the law/abusing their power etc, and i can make a phone call, then that phone call is followed up with said officer (ie speeding for no reason is a big one where i live) then I believe they ARE abusing their power, and it is wrong. To say, basically "oh but they're cops, they're allowed to get away with it" and citing stuuuupid reasons like "if it was you they were breaking the law for I'm sure you wouldn't complain" is just naive, and pompous. Maybe you should be a cop mate. Abusing power at any level needs a tight reign, other wise it doesn't stop. If i was a cop, shit yeah i'd probably speed, but no prick would ever know! I would do what i do now - slow down as soon a I'm in eyesight of another car on the road. Not just go flying past, thinking i'm all that and i cant be touched. That is, as they say, thinking you are above the law. "with great power comes great responsibility" "power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely" Police should respect the power that the badge gives them. If they blatantly abuse it, then they are lost as human beings. If you see a cop breaking the law, ring and complain. Without the lights on, they are just any other car on the road. Dont bother trying to cut me down brown nose, you aint gonna sway my opinion on this one. Here's a story for you - one of the truckies at work carting ammonium nitrate was pulled up by a cop, who asked him to get out of his truck. the thruckie asked him to show his badge first, to which the cop refused, offensively as you can imagine. So, the truckie got out of the truck, smacked the cop out, rolled him off to the side of the road, and left. The truckie was in the right. Incase you dont know, ammonium nitrate is the stuff that terrorists like so much. But the same thing goes if you get pulled by a cop. until you see that badge and ID, you dont "know" they are a cop. In the eyes of the law that is. Me? hell no I wouldn't have the balls to do anything close to that. But I will stand up for my rights. funny thing is, if i hadn't been witness to so many police abusing their power in one way or another, I probably wouldn't have the same opinion on them now. Funny that. Police are SERVANTS. Respect them, but make sure they respect you too.
  12. Talk about splitting hairs. Ok, they're completely different, they resemble each other no more than the 300zx resembles an r32/r33/r34 skyline. I take your point about following a design direction, but there's more to design than taking a beautiful car that was designed with correct proportions in mind, and clicking and dragging it out a bit, and whacking a few new trimmings on it. and as you said, they have an almost completely interchangeable drivetrain. yep, they're different alright!
  13. I think they are a nice car in their own right - nice looking luxury saloon. but as for having the skyline moniker - they were always their own can, and were NEVER meant to be, or be interpreted as being a supersize version of a z car.... but they are now. In my mind the 32-34's are the true iteration of a Skyline. 2 door COUPE. not liftback(or looking like one). But that's the way things go i guess... So long as they have the oven plate lights on the back of it, I'll still have a long hard look at it :-) I gotta say, that '07 gtr looks pretty damn hot! not to mention the engine and drivetrain specs! My dream car is still an r34 nur tho
  14. idle for a minute or so, then take it easy till i see some decent temp, usually about 10 minutes or so. which sucks cause it only takes about 10.5 minutes to get to work!
  15. yeah it's actually in a different spot again... the biggest thing for me was knowing what the damn thing looked like! but yeah descriptions alone just dont cut it! below that WHAT, exactly? good work mate Inasnt you're right removing the oil filter will free up a bit more room, still think it'll be a caaaaan't all the same. I'm in the same boat as you, just did the oil change. it's just a right piss off! the other day my damn car stalled because of it... and I hate hearing that pinging when it pulls itself back up off 100rpm! think i'm just gonna have to skin some knuckles...
  16. Dayuum... has anyone tried this on an r33 yet? it's right under the inlet manifold! basically need to take the whole inlet off to even see it! this will be a bastage of a job...
  17. my excitement was ill placed... turns out the pbr is burnt out any ideas on a good place to get a hold of one?
  18. Marvellous... cheers mate, I feared it would be something like that... where is it located, if it's easily described?
  19. What motivation do you need? it's a GTR ferchrissakes! The only thing that motivated me in the end NOT to buy one over what I have now was the age factor. But when I drove one i still fell in love! I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I had the money put aside to throw at it when (if?) things went wrong.
  20. pretty much what the title says. I've checked the fuse boxes and cant find a fuse for em, so it cant be that. ideas? how do I get to the reverse sender?
  21. If it's a hot day, use aircon. If it's a cold day, use heat, but have the aircon on. all the air goes through the air con element first anyway, and as blind elk said, it's a dehumidifier.
  22. Got thru no sweat thanks for your help guys
  23. well I did it, all very professional like, cutting a thread into the hole, and using a countersunk head... and it sounds preeee-cisely the same!! maybe 10mm of thread and a tightened down screw dont have quite the sealing qualities as i expected! I checked out the pressure of the spring and it didn't seem to be as strong as i would have expected it to be... that may have something to do with it too, maybe the bov was just lifting all the time... will have a shot with some thread tape... but i dont think that will sort it. A question i do have, how much oil in the bov/intake is acceptible? I noticed there was a bit of residue on the valve itself and looking in the exhaust side of the valve there was a bit too, not "wet" by any means, but still there. I guess you'd expect a bit to be there after 70000 k's?
  24. sounds like it is, judging from the problems some people have had by doing the mod... I think it's just luck as to whether the spring is up to it or not, depending on the condition of the BOV
