  1. any news on this FC tune yet from the rx7 guy?
  2. thx guys... will try out today... gotta love this forum Nico
  3. Hi boys and girls, I've got a quick question on this data init... since i wasnt happy with the map i received for my setup, i did an All data init yesterday, and thought that this would reset all my setting in the PFC (incl. the 3rd MAF option (z32) and the 67% duty cicle for my 550cc injectors) ... but this wasnt the case... now, does anybody know whether this data init stuff just resets the INJ & IGN values, or does it reset everything? thx, Nico
  4. thought i'd give it a try... anyone got a used short shifter they want to get rid of? email me [email protected] thx, Nico
  5. maybe IGN amp or faulty ECU ?
  6. @carl h: is there maybe an online site where i can get this sensor for that price? thx!
  7. ahaaa... you recon because its open by me, that this is causing the probs? you can see on the pict which is the open one... u recon that this is a possible reason that i cant boost more 0.5bar (acuator is good, and using blitz boost controller)? thanks, Nico
  8. @rob82: i have a good BOV installed and factory one is removed... i unfortunately don't have a catch tank and one of the pipes sitting on the camshaft cover (the one that "should" go into the air intake pipe, is open) ... how can i check my base timing? @bass junky: was also thinking bout this option, but wouldnt this then also effect the engine when it's cold... just came back from a drive... car runs ok, revs ok, and idle is good as long as engine isnt hot... the moment i come of the highway and stand at a traffic light, the story with the revs between 500-1100 up & down begins again... even my tacho light was dimming again at low revs... also when i used other electrical components like the electric windows, the revs fell very low to ~300 and then up again... appriciate your help... Nico
  9. i am using an apexi bov... but could u explain how this can influence the idle only once the engine is hot and not the whole time? is there a setting in the PFC pro that i can tell the engine to keep the same revs/parameters/corrections that are set when water temp is ~70 degrees , once i have gone up to ~85 degrees? this cannot be achieved by the REV/IDLE settings... tried raising to 890rpm, but engine runs at ~650rpm thx, Nico
  10. thats the problem ... there were no skylines imported into my county (Austria / Europe) and i am the only one who has an RB25DET in whole of western europe (except england and maybe a few crazy finnish people) ... both are around 5.000+ kilometers away... have to do everything myself ... but the sound of the RB makes it all up but thx for the offer nico
  11. @R33Deviat: i was also thinking on the grounding issue... could well be the case... have to check on that... @Mashrock: i just checked on that feature, and looking at pauls PFC FAQ, my boost thingy is off... also the 02 correction thingy is also off... @paul: i was also thinking about that, but the prob with that is that i received a good map from a tuner, and inputed all 800 values for IGN & INJ with the hand-controller ... i just u know how much work that was... will try all other things, before doing this again thanks everybody! nico
  12. hi there, i have a slight problem with my RB25... when i start the car and drive for a bit, reving it and everything else is just fine... but i recently experienced this weird idleing issue... when the engine heats up (water temp >~80 degrees) the engine idleing revs begin to jump up down between 550-1100 rpm... ??? ... once when i was reversing into my garage it even stalled... it really sux having to keep the revs with the gas pedal in the >1000rpm area when standing at a traffic light ... i tried changing the engine idle revs in the PFC to 850, but it still did it... should i maybe change the engine correction factor? or what other gimmic does the PFC pro offer that could influence that (dont have datalogit)? or could it possibly be: Faulty coils - not really since the engine revs good? Faulty injectors - same as above Stock BOV is replaced with a proper one all hoses and other air hoses arent losing air plugs are brand new another maybe important thing to notice here, is that i noticed today in the dark garage, that when the engine does this 500-1000 rpm up and down, i saw that the lights from the tacho and headlights were also dimming as the revs changed?? any clue? nico
  13. you've got a PM waiting thx. Nico
  14. some background info to the problem: i currently have sII coils (amp. inside coil) installed on my RB25, but nr.6 has blown... since sII coils seen to be generally bad (dont start a discussion plz), i now want to replace with coils from the RB26 which has the amp. externally... i have an ign.amp. from a sI RB25 lying around in my garage... the two questions resulting would be: 1) will the RB26 coils be compatible with my currently installed wiring/plugs from the sII RB25 setup? 2) will the RB25 ign. amp. be able to work with the RB26 coils? Nico
  15. title says it all... would be good when wiring/plugs would be included... let me know asap... thanks, nico pm me or email under [email protected]
  16. hmm... just a question - i currently have s2 coils running on my RB25 and i am pretty sure that the 6th one has blown... u think that i can run s1 coils on my current PFC PRO with the ign. amp. that i have lying around in my garage? or does this swap from s2 -> s1 require more stuff ?? thx, nico
  17. huhu... you got urgent PM on the aftermarket ignition system ! nico
  18. Maybe for the FAQ the solution was almost as simple as stupid: The PFC needs the ECCS Relay to operate ! i had mine wired directly to IGN and that doesn't do the trick... so for all swappers/people with memory problems, i suggest that you use all the good advice in this thread on this issue, and make sure that you have a good working ECCS relay connected to the PFC... Nico EDIT - thanks for the help guys
  19. Hi, Does anyone maybe now a NA RB engine that has cams that could go on the RB25DET? May sound silly to some, but I did the same with my nissan CA18DET engine - I used cams from the CA16DE which were a direct swap, needed some fine tuning, and made a great difference in response and power... is there anything simular for the RB25DET engine? Maybe from the RB20DE or RB25DE >? nico
  20. hi guys, so i have decided to change my s13 gauge to the R33 from my RB25 engine, i had a look at it, but couldnt make sense of the wiring... could some1 maybe fill out on the pict below which wires output have what function on the tach? nico
  21. boing :
  22. so, i still havent got it to memorize : yesterday, i went to my car and had a strange experience... i put the key in the ignition position and the PFC provided electricty to pins 49,59, 109 and 45 as it should... constant on pin58 is also there... now here's the hit -> I take out ALL relais, and the IGN is still ON, and the PFC is also still running and still providing electricty to pins 49,59, 109 and 45 ??? HUH>? i have also tested all ground according to wiring scheme, and they also provide what they should >>?? Now i am absolutley clueless any ideas?? what about pin 43?? i cant make sense of it... what should it do? cause in my case it's not doing anything... : HEEELP nico
  23. well, i was experimenting a bit and think it has something to do with my relais wiring, because with the relais taken out and i give IGN ON, the PFC still starts up : was about pin43? should there be a perminant 12v or on IGN ON or nothing... cause @ the moment i have nothing there, but according to wiring diagram i should have something... could this be it?? thanks, nico
  24. u know, i like such comments, because they are really motivating... in case nobody is willing to share their maps, i will make the 450-500 myself during my 2 weeks holidays, and post my dyno result just to prove u wrong...
