  2. then i would have to answer with the question what makes the GTR engine soo much better and stronger than an RB25 ... i have researched this on forums all over the world for a long time by now and have found out on several occasions that it cant be because of the minimal difference of displacement, nor can it be the rods cause i have seen comparison pictures and read reports on the differences of rods, and there is no significant difference... possibly the pistons could be slightly better and maybe the head of the 26 can flow slightly more, but does that make it resist soo more HP and punishment?? but that doesnt matter, since i am on the lookout for a goood map nico
  3. hmm... i did research and people like LNEMUP are running these sort of figures... its only been a recent tune in his case, but there where others (on nicoclub for example) which have been running between 450-500 hp for a long while already without blowing the stock bottom end... but come on man, i had a CA18DET with just cosmetic mods running 304 hp and that on only a 1.8l 4 cylinder engine... so i am sure that the RB25 can take that extra 150-200 hp without getting hurt in the long time... but hey, i am just looking for a map, and not to discuss this topic... i will go through with it, but I still thank for your advice... i dont mind whether the map is for an RB25 with forged or not forged bottom end, as long its in the 450-500 hp area, and running simular setup to mine (550cc, z32 afm, t3/t4 etc) ... Noooo_naaame, where are yoou? nico ps: how did u come up with "comparing a bmw inline 6 race engine"?? the 525i engine has nothing to do with racing? here they just tune it up, cause its dirty cheap to get a new one cause we have so many... the M Power series on the other hand could be considered an atmospheric race engine...
  4. man, u guys need to have more faith into our engines ... fact is that they are RB (RACE Breed ), have I-6 and are 2.5l and are turbo engines with a very strong iron block... i was recently reading on here a thread where a guy is pushing his stock RB25 close to the 500hp border or so... i have seen maany BMW 525i with STOCK I-6, NON-turbo engines with same displacement running 500hp and are still holding together after 1+ year of racing every weekend... my engine rebuild included stock bearings, stock new piston rings, etc... the only modded part is the 1.6mm head gasket to lower compression a bit... unfortunatley, the cams will be the limiting factors, but i hope to get some poncams soonish... @no_name: hmm... fuel pressure is slightly higher than stock due to z32 fuel filter and upgraded fuel pump ignition i recently set using this round thing (dont know the name in english) that is on the crank cams are unfortunately still stock thanks! nico ps: what a funny smilie EDIT - just wanted to also mention that the great advantage of the RB its short stroke is which can allow reasonably high HP figures, with minimized risk of bending a rod a easily... and also, i think that the RB25 can hold 500hp, if tuned properly and i anyway have holidays soon, and plently of time to make that wideband and dyno pay off
  5. hello, i am looking for a rouph map of people that run an RB25 with ~500 hp ( =~ 367kw -> ~330rwkw) ... this is my setup: stock rebuilt engine PFC PRO w/HC 550cc FMIC with 2.5" piping Full 3" exhaust z32 AFM T4 Turbo upgraded plugs upgraded pump and fuel filter HKS air filter twin plate clutch would be great if some1 could send me a map that is running well and producing this kind of power, because I can take it from there and edit it using my wideband O2 and dyno to make it perfect... thanks! nico ps: my email is [email protected]
  6. hmmm... just to make sure that I understand what u mean... I should take my little testing light lamp pen (what ever the real name is : ), connect to battery + and then put it on the wire that goes to pin16 and see what happens with IGN is either OFF or ON ?? is this what you mean by probe ? sorry, but my english isnt the best tomorrow/today, i will go to my car, unplug the ECU and measure out with my little light lamp pen, what each of the ECCS relay pins does what... there somewhere has to be the error ? and when i find that error, i will it ... EDIT: i did a piccaso of what i think u mean/what i should do... but something i dont think i understood u correctly
  7. aha... just saw now that pin16 is the ground for the ECCS relay... how can i test that its functioning? unplug PFC, give it a + and see whether the relay in the engine bay clicks? so which ralay are we talking about, because I will exchange it with a new one, and maybe it will solve the problem? nico
  8. @BHDave: well, unfortunatly the moment i switch IGN OFF, the PFC instanly looses its power and switches off immediatly... same with 49,59 & 109 -> IGN OFF and they instantly switch OFF... no delay... where could the error be? faulty relais?? i remember thats at a certain stage during the swap (when i seem to memorize), that when it booted up this apexi image scrolled along and then appeared... this now doesnt happen... i will check pin 16 now and see what it does when I switch IGN ON... thanks guys! nico
  9. hi there, first of all, thanks for your great advice guys... today i went to my car to check for the power on the pins you had mentioned in this thread... the results were: Constant + on pin 58 the moment I hit the IGN ON , pins 49, 59, 109 and 45 get a + ... when I turn the IGN OFF, only pin 58 is left with electricity... since of this seems to be fine, i believe that there could be some fault in the relais/fuse itself, but i am not sure which one to exchange? does anyone from u guys maybe know? i am pretty sure that its not the PFC ECU that is faulty, because during some phase in my RB25 s13 swap, it did manage to save the settings that I have entered (ie. i change the Airflow meter to z32, change the 550cc injectors to 67% duty cycle)... those things the ECU did remember in its memory, and now when I try to change them, it wont memorize after IGN is OFF again... it doesnt reset the values to factory, but has the changes (z32 afm & 550cc) in its memory... any other helpful ideas? thanks guys ! nico
  10. hi fellas, i did a search on this, but my problem with the PFC is slightly different than the answer I found... look, i have a SI RB25 and run a PFC pro on it, and it has some issues with it memory... it turns on well, and the engine is also running smooth... i am running 550cc with z32 AFM and put in the figures (67% & 80mm) and the PFC memorized them... now, since the PFC is running way to much ignition in idle, i edit the ign maps so that it runs smoothly at 850rpm and knock levels stay nicely below 30... now, when i turn the engine off, take out my key, and then turn it back on again, the newly entered values in the ign. map are back to the original settings, but the injector and AFM have not changed back to stock (still 67% and 80mm) ... so wtf is wrong? pin 58 has constant 12v from the battery, and there are 3 more 12v+ which are switch over relais (when ignition is on), and they also provide electricty to the PFC when key is in ignition position... but why wont it remember the ign. changes??? also if i raise/lower the values for Rev limit/launch control, it resets them back to factory when I take the power away?? please help... thx, nico
  11. hi guys, i need to know how the fan that cools the water radiator (is that the right word ?) is controlled in a skyline r33 running a RB25DET engine... is it over the ECU and can be set via the Power FC Pro, or is it switched on over some relais?? please let me know definiate anwers, thanks nico

  17. hmm... when i was doing the search i remember reading it on the forced induction part... could be that i misread something and you think that the coil packs max out at such power level and its absolutley neccessary to upgrade to spitfire coils? thx, nico
  18. this is more simple... its just by the IDLE A/C off/on ... there i can choose what revs i want the car to idle when warm... but since i have the RB25 wired in my s13, i made a compromise between when A/C is ON or OFF because i skipped the ECU when wiring the A/C... so currently i am happy with 870 as idle... nico

  20. i read that post of yours, but dont u have 2 of them running on a RB26? nevertheless, you must have nissan / RB stamped onto your brain man... i have been reading many threads and u seem to know everything thx for the help
  21. did that paul... it just didnt work... i have read in a few forums that this is the way to do it... but the solution is/was so simply that it hurts my brain it's the one below engine REV -the one set to 4000- - silly huh? i have no idea whether this is normal for the PFC to have it displayed there, but this is where its on mine... i changed it down to 2000 rpm just to be on the safe side, and it kept the revs on 2000 ... no clue WTF those silly japanese call it A/C ?? anyway, thats the solution and it sounds ILL !!!
  22. hi fellas, i guess that 50% of u are thinking "buu not another afm thread" , but this one is a bit different... i researched before posting, but only found comparisons between q45 and the z32... i am aware of all the differences etc, but i was wondering HOW much air the z32 (80mm) can actually flow?? i will be going for around 500 HP (367,65 KW) on my RB25DET and was wondering whether it will max out ?? anyone has any clue/suggestion/answer ?? thx nico ps: i have a PFC installed

  25. hi guys, this thread is targeted at people that own/have experience with power fc's... i have a PFC Pro installed on my s13 running RB25DET... now i am sure that all PFC "PRO" models have L/C ... this should be found by selecting "REV LIMIT" and then hitting the "NEXT" button... but when i try to get to it, it simply doesnt work... i press "NEXT" , arrow right and all possible keys (that i know of ) and nothing happens... What am I doing wrong now?? here is a pict taken of my installed and running PFC... thanks in advance
