Australian delivered Touring models only came with 17" wheels. The 18" wheels on the US Touring came with 18's, and the Track came with Australia's "optional" RAYS wheels as standard. Using US nomenclature would just confuse people.

I would call 100rwkW for a car claiming to have 147kW at the flywheel "really low", since it's the same quoted power that the 120rwkW SR20DET makes. Considering it's practically the same drivetrain, you can't even claim differences due to parasitic loss. If it was a standard Nissan SR20DE then yeah, it's a pretty high number. But for an engine with uprated internals, cams, tuned-length exhaust manifold, etc, it's disappointing. B18Cs and K20As will make more power than that.

Advertise them here. The Z33/V35 standard widths and offsets look near-perfect on R33s and S15s. If someone's looking for an OEM quality cast wheel that sits well in the well, they could do a lot worse.

If I got out of my car and cut sick at some idiot who carved me up, causing them to (metaphorically) shit their pants, it's quite possible that fear of getting the shit kicked out of them would encourage them to not risk a further confrontation and drive more conscientiously. Fear is an amazing tool for control. Our entire legal system is based on it.

If his list of "loves" includes hitting trees in a car he was restoring, and injuring his friends (because that is what he was doing), then it's not big loss. I can't say I'd have those things as passions. But then I like my car, and I like my friends.

Is it CAMS only, or can you show up with a driver's license?

Track wheels are easier to find. You said you weren't interested in NISMO's RAYS wheels. I think they look pretty good, are the stock Track sizes, and are lightweight forged to boot. While they're not as light as TE37s / CE28Ns they'll still be better than stock cast wheels.

Random Car Trivia I Found In Top Gear Australia Mag
scathing replied to scathing's topic in General Automotive Discussion
You mean the one that is about to go bankrupt? I'd hate to see the straits someone is in who isn't doing alright for themselves. -
Is the point of the exercise to catch people speeding, or for them not to speed in the first place?
-
That phrase is one of my pet peeves. Of course speed is a factor. Speed is a factor in any crash. The only way an object can have no speed is if its not moving, in which case the laws of physics say it's impossible for it to hit anything else.

Speed Magazine...what Happened?
scathing replied to cobo_11's topic in General Automotive Discussion
SP33D mag got buried because the publishers couldn't justify it. I think they were trying to aim it as a classier Autosalon mag with same great photography, reasonably well sorted cars, basic technical articles, but no skanks. Unfortunately I think that the other ricer mags in the publisher's stable made the cut. Half dressed pre-teens draped all over candy painted cars sells magazines. I didn't mind SP33D, and actually bought a fair few issues. It was less ricey and VD-ridden than Hot4s / AutoSalon / Freestyle etc but a lot lighter and more visually appealing than Zoom etc. For me, if they'd gotten their facts right more often and used a spell checker it would have been the perfect general "tuner" mag. -
Korean Designers Trying To Re-invent The Speed Hump
scathing replied to scathing's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing them installed in carparks. I can get in to my local Westfields, but I can't park on the roof because their metal speed humps scrape the undercarriage on my stock ride height car. A mate tore the mid muffler open on his S15 there. -
Designers Jae-yun Kim and Jong-Su Lee have devised a stunningly simple concept for the humble speed hump. The idea is simple enough: each speed bump is fitted with retractors that stay closed (flat) if a car hits it at below 30km/h, and open (bump!) if a car hits the bump at any speed over 30km/h. Kim and Lee’s speed bump concept has been created to reward those of us who agree with the need to drive slow in residential areas, school zones, and shopping complexes, and punish those who don’t. I've been in an Autech S15 and it's not bad. With a pod filter on, the induction note sounds like VTEC. That said, I'm not sure if it's this specific example but it was down on power. I think it only managed around 100rwkW at a dyno night I went to. Everyone was reading low that night, but that's really low. Without the turbocharger to make up the midrange torque, it definitely doesn't feel as fast as an SR20DET making the same peak power.

I Need Your Advices And Feedbacks Plz

But they're at the end of the Old Pac. That's never too far away. -
Good luck finding a set. Everyone is looking for Anniversary rims at the moment. The last set I saw were advertised at $1800, and they were the first to come up in about a year. ROH do make a similar looking wheel, but if I remember correctly you need to run spacers to get the offset back to stock, let alone sitting better. In typical useless Aussie style, ROH doesn't bother to post information that enthusiasts care about (like offsets) for their wheels on their site.

ROC looks like a great event, but I agree that it needs to be bigger for the cars in the pics. For the X-Bow and that random buggy they used in other comps, the size is a bit better. Highlights here: http://freecaster.tv/1000179_1006458

Aside from the issues below where it has to be examined, even if it were to pass it wouldn't matter. "Prior art" is what people use to get around stupid patents like this in a practical sense, and the wheel has been around for longer than this guy has. Still, it's a good highlight to prove how flawed the system is.

It's probably because I am a bad driver, but I haven't found much difference between the S-Comp RT215s and my old R-Comp R888s in terms of outright grip. It's in heat capacity that I found the biggest gain. The RT215s would go greasy after a half a dozen flying laps of Wakefield, whereas the R888s usually make it to 10 laps before the rear would get loose. At a supersprint, where it's only 3-4 flying laps a go, I'd probably be quite happy to use S-Comps.

Looks sick as. Especially with the R34 GT-R wheels.

We have legislation about sexy underwear once modelled by Kylie Minogue? Sweet.

The bump from behind has been happening for a while. Carjackers were using it to defeat factory auto-locks, as cars with them generally have the doors unlock in an "accident" to make it easier to rescue the occupants.

This shit has been happening for years (some with P plates, no less). I know that guys up in Hornsby have regularly been baited by Falcodores and Magnas with illegal tints. I had a massive rant about it here.

That's because Falken RT615s aren't an R-Compound tyre. They won't grip anywhere near as well as the R-Comps everyone else is suggesting, nor will they last as long before overheating. The RT615s are not a proper circuit tyre. In a motorsport setting, I wouldn't consider them for anything other than a wet weather tyre or a hillclimb tyre.
