  1. Is your "drift" that you're allowed to use hyperbole when talking negatively about them, but they're not when they're talking positively about themselves?
  2. If the setup on the braking electronics is unchanged from the V35/Z33, there's a way you can completely disable it without needing to cut anything.....but you will lose your speedo and your ABS. Definitely a skidpan-only proposition The VDC controlled FM platforms were the same. The button only turns down the sensitivity, and re-engages if you tap the brakes.
  3. Was he like, "Mate its all Greek to me!" in response?
  4. It's illegal and I'm not sure what the uneven loads do to the suspension components. Unless its temporary (i.e. like a space saver spare) I wouldn't.
  5. The Motor Report got their mitts on one of the first V36s complied in Australia at the same time Action Dan got his drive of the R35, and the review is finally up. There's not much by way of a road test since the car is so new, but Motortrend rates the Infiniti G37 (just a badge engineered V36 Skyline 370GT) above the BMW 335i....which is class leading down here since Nissan Aus won't offer the car. Read TMR's review here.
  6. It depends on in what direction those people are tending to in life. Some people get older and move on from being a boy racer. Some people get older and move on from going as "slowly" as they do in a GTS-t. If they've decided the GTS-t isn't fast enough, they'll go to a GT-R. If they get over the noise and discomfort but still want something swift, luxurious and a decent drive but without the BMW price tag, they'll get a V platform Skyline (the V36 is out now, and it's a gem).
  7. http://chinaview.wordpress.com/2007/08/15/...a-night-market/ Easier to manufacture than try to keep chickens, even battery ones, alive.
  8. Wow, lucky. In China, even the rice and soy sauce get faked.
  9. Bummer that it's on the same day as this, but as FM Platform cruise I'll be coming to this one.
  10. I was a definite maybe for this, but unfortunately it's on the same day as the V35 cruise. I'll be there in spirit. If there's one thing I believe we should be taking care of in this world, its boobs.
  11. It's a shame my sig is currently full of comedy gold. If it wasn't, this would have just made it. If you wanted power without control, you should have bought a Falcodore. There's a modification for you.
  12. I'd rather get HREs, thanks. Amazing quality multi-piece wheels from the US, with a known reputation. TheTunersGroup are the Aussie distributors, and they've had the courtesy of becoming a vendor on here. I've seen ads for Show Wheels from car mags and stuff, but I haven't heard anything about them. Their style suits old-school muscle cars and 'rods as well, rather than more modern Japanese cars.
  13. I'm sick of watching good companies die because they'll spend the dosh making sure their products work really well and are manufactured consistently only to have some muppet buy one, copy it so it resembles the original, and churn it out as quickly as possible. I like driving my car, not posing in it, so I guess my aims are a bit different.
  14. Thanks for the update guys. I was wondering what happened to the car after I read about the earth shattering kaboom. Sorry to hear about the motor, but not sorry to hear you're boring it out. There's no replacement for displacement.
  15. Nice house. Does the fireplace keep you warm at night?
  16. A couple of years ago Hot4s arranged a cruise up to the Central Coast, and the cops set up a massive defect station at the Gosford turn-off. There was a big whinge about it on car forums, since the cops had said (or the organisers had said the cops had said) that they wouldn't be defecting people. Of course, the idiots blocking off the F3 in the afternoon for rolling runs on the way home means it was probably pre-emptively deserved.

    R35 Wheels

I love the dish and the colour, but the spoke design and ride height aren't really doing it for me.
  18. I don't know if it impoves audio quality (I can't hear much in it since I've retained the Bose speakers/amps) but I now have native iPod support, I can read MP3s off DVD, and I can watch DVDs. In terms of functionality, its miles ahead. Call Chris first anyway.
  19. Just had a quick look at some of the other times posted - 1:23 isn't too bad for your first time out, especially in a RWD car. How did the tyres hold up? Post it in the RT615 thread. :-)
  20. Americans love their drag racing......
  21. Bose should be worried more about a class action suit from Nissan/Infiniti owners in the US, a place that has both a history of litigation and a history of firearms abuse.
  22. I dropkicked the Bose CD player into the bin, and installed an Alpine IVA-W202E. Using the aux input should be OK, as the other two sources on my head unit (radio, tape) worked fine and I used interfaces to get my iPod to work.
  23. If I may make a suggestion before you rip the car apart looking for amps and shit, test something first. When you're getting the problem while listening to a CD, flick over to the radio and see if it happens there (or any other audio source aside from the CD player if you have one). I get the feeling the problem is isolated to the CD player. The 350Z Bose stereos have a known issue (with TSB I'm pretty sure, although I don't have it to hand) where the speakers intermittently drop out while playing CDs. It doesn't happen with the tape deck or tuner (or aux input for those cagey enough to figure out there was one), and it feels like a loose connection since hard accelerating/braking can start/stop the problem. US guys have complained about it, as have a few Australians I know. Since the Z and V share so many components, it could be a common theme. Nissan Aus didn't even bother fixing it when 2 of my mates had the issue with their Z's. The head unit was replaced. Mine did it just after warranty expired. At first it was the passenger side (both front and rear). Then the driver's side occasionally. Then both. Then back to passenger side. I ended up using a FM tuner or tape to line-in converter with my iPod. I replaced it with a double DIN, and kept the amps and speakers stock, and haven't had issues since.
  24. Nintendo DS. Videos on the DVD player or iPod Touch.
