Does he have the ones with flamethrowers under the sideskirts, to torch carjackers? If so, I'll be giving him a call....

OK, but only because you've got a round dozen. I'll get smoked, and it won't matter if its by an inch or a mile.

You think a Wikipedia source is authorative? I don't need any more proof for my belief that you're a retard. You've got no f**king idea how Wikipedia works. I could log in now and say "the dude on SAU called 32line is a complete sh1t-stain, and RB actually stands for row-boat" into that Wiki entry, and it'd get 'published'. However, in that case, I guess it would be true. Wikipedia not an encyclopedia, its gossip masquerading as information. And what peer review it has is not necessarily done by certifiably qualified sources. There was a dude recently who "resigned" as a reviewer after they found out his Ph.D was of the imaginary kind; he made up all his qualifications. People like you are the reason why companies selling pills and magnets that "save fuel", and "add 40 hp with our AFM hot wire insert", can make so much money.

Try a V35 Skyline 350GT (with a 3.5L engine, funnily enough the exact amount bigger than Accord Seppo engine is compared to an R33 GTS-t), both NA or both with superchargers. Either way, it'll eat the Accord for breakfast.

You'd evidently never been in a Civic / Integra powered by a B16/B18, or a F20C powered S2000 if you think that VTEC engines have low-end grunt but no top end power. The new i-VTEC engines are very flexible (I'm quite fond of the current Integra's engine, the only one I've driven), but VTEC earned its reputation for being completely gutless before VTEC kicks in, yo.

Circuit Club - Anyone Been To Their Track Days?

Goddamn it! You're faster than me on a "power" track too! -
I'm there quite often, but then you didn't say they were all nice cars

What Can Add Value To Your Skyline?

I never said you did. If you have a look at my original post, I quoted two different people and addressed them together. Your inability to read properly strikes again.

What time? Silvia NSW met up there yesterday evening, so having a bunch of other Japanese import coupes cruising around the area probably didn't help.

R-Comp tyres inevitably have reinforced sidewalls, so the difference isn't as marked as with street rubber. And, unlike with street tyres, its not as easy to say if the higher unsprung weight and rotational inertia from a bigger rim offsets the extra sidewall flex in terms of pace. Personally, I'd stick with 17". If you're going to track more often you'll want to do a brake upgrade, and a reasonable upgrade is getting used Brembos off a GT-R or Z33 / V35. They tend to get sold for a reasonable price, bolt on with a minimum amount of fuss, and are from a reputable manufacturer with OEM reliability. You need 17" rims to clear those brakes. As for tyre choice, there are quite a few racing series' that use 16" and 17" as the control sizes. I'm not sure if 17" does have a greater range of tyre types than 16", but I am sure that availability in either size will not be an issue. Either diameter will give you plenty of opportunity to go to a State Championship round and pick up used tyres off the racers, if you're on a budget.

High Performance Tyre Survey
scathing replied to Bullet32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I'm rolling on Falken Azenis RT215s at the moment. I'm quite fond of everything they do except the wear rate. They're great in the dry, reasonable in the wet (they're quite new) and the tyre noise isn't headache-inducing. I've never driven on Federal 595RS's though, so if you want to sling me a free set on spare rims I'll drive them back to back and let you know what I think. -
I didn't know you guys were driving R33s...? On topic, replacing the Nangkangs is the first step. Secondly, what suspension are you running? If you're running the stock suspension, given the age of your R32 its possible that your suspension's on its way out. Dead shocks and soggy springs will unduely shift the weight up front under brakes, overloading your front tyres.

Modified Vq35de Making 850rwhp
scathing replied to scathing's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
How's 1800hp for "potential"? Since there are few V35s in Australia, this place hasn't been following the VQ engine that much. But there are plenty of VQ powered daily drivers pulling 500rwhp+ in the US, and the list of 350Zs and V35s with 380rwhp (with unopened engines) in Australia is growing. -
You drive a car with an RB20DET willingly, and think that you're somehow superior to a Celica. You need a lot more than a new outlook on life. Unless Dr Phil does lobotomies I don't think he's the right person to help you.
-
Fair enough. If you didn't buy the Skyline because its a sports car then it shouldn't matter to you that you in your vastly more powerful coupe just got chopped by a dinky old Celica. Of course, I'd question what about the Skyline appeals to you if not the performance....but that's outside the scope of this discussion. The moment you're happy with what you have, you stop wanting to improve yourself or what you've got (so, no more modifying then). Why would you, when you're "happy"? Like you said, there's always something better so that means you're content with being mediocre. Not my cup of tea, but horses for courses...... I didn't start off with the "hairdresser" comments, I just responded to it. Your lack of understanding at how "rebuttal" works in a debate speaks more about your (lack of) credibility than mine.
-
Given how smug some of you are about coming behind a hairdresser, wouldn't that make you a bunch of fags too? Or do you guys subscribe to the "As long as you're not taking it you're not gay" mentality? Every time I hear someone bleat on about how "at least I'm not in a xxxxx" when their vaunted "sports car" gets chopped by something less famous, it just smells of the desperate insecurity of someone who realises that they're car isn't the avatar of god they'd like to think it is.....or they're just shit behind the wheel.

Proof Of The Gayness Of Subaru

No matter who won, all three of you are losers. -
I'd say it was the other way around. Police cars are magnetised towards Skylines, not the other way around. Skylines are more magnetised towards telegraph poles and kerbs.
-
I hear about it, and see it, on a regular basis. Winding road driving is more about driver skill than the car's power output. And the willingness of the driver to push it. On the weekend I blew away a Ferrari F430, 360 Spyder, 575M and 355 Berlinetta through the Nasho. I'm willing to bet he wasn't driving as close to their limits as I was, though. I've outrun plenty of turbo modified Silvias and Skylines, as well as a range of sports bikes, in a stock Pulsar SSS when we were both trying. Recently I've been getting smashed by Civics, Integras, RenaultSport Clios and NA S13s in my light-tune 350Z when I've been going as fast (and sometimes faster) than I feel comfortable doing. I've seen a 180awkW WRX being tailgated by a 70rwkW AE86.

Motor Swap Rb26 To Silvia S15
scathing replied to Shade Phoenix XII's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I thought drift cars needed good chassis balance? Why would you want to replace an all alloy inline 4 with a much longer and heavier cast iron inline 6? I thought the goal of drifting was to get your car to oversteer from before the corner to beyond the exit, not understeer on the way in and four wheel drift on the way out....? -

What Can Add Value To Your Skyline?
scathing replied to bugger's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
A history. Some people will pay well over market for a car that's been owned by someone famous or something. Or if the car becomes a cult classic. Look at the Takumi tax on AE86s - ever since Initial D came out the price for those nuggets have skyrocketed. Same with classic cars like MGBs, or old Monaros, XY GT Falcons, etc. Aside from that, you've got buckleys of improving resale on a vehicle. -

Only if its in the factory colour, or you strip the car down and get everything painted (and even then you won't make a profit on it since that kind of paint job is going to cost you a fortune). Otherwise, if potential buyers find the exterior paint a different colour to the interior paint (like the door sills, engine bay, etc) they'll assume its been resprayed due to an accident repair....and there goes your resale value. -
