Wheel Nuts To Suit Dished Rims
sl33ek replied to sl33ek's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
oh OK looks like 22mm allen key type is the way to go thanks for confirming So what advantage does the allen key type have over standard nuts? does it just prevent people from using the rattle gun to tighten the nut? Anyone know where to source them from as well? -
Weird Clicking/ticking Noise From Rear
sl33ek replied to -33-'s topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I had this problem, in my case it was the handbrake cable coming out of its holder and hitting the driveshaft Because the driveshaft is spinning thats whats causing the rapid metallic clicking sounds - the handbrake cable is metal too. Look under your car towards the rear to check if your handbrake cable is hanging loosely very close to the driveshaft -
hi guys Seems like every time I need to remove my rear wheels for a brake or tyre change and reattach it, the wheel stud gets wrecked - as in "threaded" when reattaching the wheel nut. my rear wheel is dished starcorp impuls so the hole for the nut is quite deep so i think thats whats causing it. It needs to be hand tightened first to get around this, but tyre shops didnt do this even when I request it My mechanic recommended getting long wheel nuts with the allen key thing in the middle. What do you guys recommend and is there any links to pics of these nuts so i know what to look for?

I just want to show my appreciation too My car has been idling at 1500rpm for the past 2 months and sometimes the idle would hunt as well especially when I had my clutch in when slowing down at lights, it was extremely irritating and made the car noisier because of the high idle. My mechanic replaced a few hoses and checked the sensors but he gave up after I kept coming back Lucky i found this thread, removed that thing and it was clogged with carbon. Sprayed its insides with WD40 and wiped out all that black gunk. THe spring moves alot more freely now and my idle's back to normal and so's my sanity lol Thanks again insu

I think i mentioned this before But no way it's possible without taking both wheels off, and also the seat. Get a bike with quick release wheels. Also use allen keys to remove the handlebars so you can sort of fold them on top of the frame. Cover the passenger seat with a tablecloth, fold the passenger seat all the way down. Put the frame in the passenger seat so the gears are hanging towards the back and the forks are on the front edge of the seat. you have to position it so that you can actually change gears while driving lol thats a tricky one. Position the wheel spokes through the pedals so they don't move around. Pain in the arse I know but the whole process shouldnt take more than 10 mins Don't forget to carry the right allen keys Kind of frustrating that the back seats don't fold down to extend the boot in skylines.

You Know You Drive A Skyline When .. ... .
sl33ek replied to SAGTS-4's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
You subconsciously shift to neutral when you see a cop You help your dad jumpstart his car, pop your bonnet and wonder who stole your battery -
Saw you too Duncan. I'm moving to E1 next week so I'll prob get around to saying hi to you now i know what you look like!

"The reason for the 180 is the need to carry a mountain bike. The Liberty has a towbar so it works. I don't want to put a tow bar on a skyline or silvia. with the rear seats down in a 180, the bike fits." Hey GTST I had the same prob, I considered a tow bar for mine but it looks crap and the quotes to put one on rediculous Buy a mountain bike where you can take off the front/back wheels and the seat and it'll fit and about r32/r33 i agree with the guy that said be grateful because I reckon without them you'd all be in commodores how about a 10yo commo vs 10yo skyline, now thats a real one sided argument

Hey Joe! Saw you too, think there was a nice s15 next to you? new skirts? looks nice!

I've always thought boot space in R33s is pretty shocking for a car that size

Hey guys, I'm pretty sure the accessories power wire is used for the amp signal but I want to double check Its the wire that tells the amp to turn on/off Do I use the accessories power or the Power antenna up/down wire, or even the +12V battery power wire? Its an R33.

Hey thanks guys! I got it aligned on Sunday morning at Bob Jane. It was only $66 for all four wheels, that was pretty sweet. It cost like $90 a year ago when I last did it at the same place. Its all aligned, and the rears have correct camber and toe, as does the front right. Front left is cambered 1.5 deg adn they couldnt correct it. I might get a camber kit if I get really bad tyre wear on it. Yeah i read about the show and shine it looks like its going to be huge! I'll try to make it!
