  1. I think every skyline has one I know mine does. I got a bigger one that standard, and its been relocated to near the firewall I dont know why
  2. On my Justjap kit the holes on the bracket dont line up on mine as well but its close. Dont really need to attach it as its very stable the way it is
  3. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I got it fixed ! Cant describe what a relief and how much better it is without that damned racket. I took it to an exhaust shop today ready to fork out for a new highflow cat. The guy bashed the cat but there was no rattle but I insisted on opening it so he did. Looked inside and it was perfect So we poked around for about 20 minutes trying to figure it out when I found the culprit. The handbrake cable fell out of its clip and hitting the base of the driveshaft (near the HICAS) It looked a little worn so it was obvious its been hitting. It was clipped back in and problem solved
  4. Cheers Sid Quickblade : I kind of like it how it is now, understated and not fully exposed. Thought about the radiator thing too especially with the radiator fan being trimmed, but I've kept an eye on the temp gauge and it hasn't really been any different than before (needle still a bit below half way) Its still running the stock turbo pushed to 11psi anyway so the airflow to the intercooler isnt a big issue (I hope!)
  5. Yeah I was just being a fussy bastard hehe. It is straight, my bar lip actually is a little elevated making it look slightly angled. Its sorted now I pushed the lip down
  6. hehe ok, I was looking at the black supra a few cars ahead, did you see that? Yeah I'll give a wave if I see ya
  7. Thanks for comments guys. Yeah it was a clean job its amazing what a bit of experience and the right tools can do Mr G, small world isnt it? I was driving to Carlingford for dinner, which car were you in?
  8. Just want to post about my results after the install. It was a justjap Type 1 R33 kit Mr_G did a great job installing it and took 3.5 hours flat. he even put my stock bov back on, what a champ. Just got back from driving it, testing on full boost for short periods, after 120kms no hoses have flown off. Some things I've noticed is boost maxes out at around 9, maybe a bit over where it used to be 10 (on the turbotech bleed valve) When driving normally the car doesnt feel much different, dont even feel any lagier. Except I can't take off in 2nd gear anymore, thats when I feel the lag, used to do that when I'm lazy hehe Its when driving hard that I notice it going to redline more easily Also without my bov it sounds alot different. It sounds kind of like wooooosh-Sheeeeee, using the stock bov Anyway I'm very happy with the install The metal bar behind the bumper was cut, 3" hole under the washer bottle and fan fins trimmed Highly recommend Mr_G If you want to buy my old bov, look here. Thorpe says its fully sick. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=106251

  11. Hey man sorry to hear about your loss. I'll keep a look out. I hate reading about stolen cars makes me paranoid. Do you know how they got in? Smashed window or did they unlock the passenger side door?
  12. Was behind a nice bayside blue 34GTR last night in fairfield it brown trade plates. First time I saw a real one on the road actually. He booted it turning into polding street.
  13. Thanks Ben I'll add that to my to do list too this weekend I just want to add that the rattle starts at 1500rpm and can last up to a minute at a time, but usually lasts until i get up to cruising speed. Not all the time, just most of it
  14. Ok My car has developed a rattling sound coming from under the car and maybe towards the rear. Over about two months it got louder and louder and now I cant stand it anymore It is a metallic vibrating sound, imagine a putting a metal ruler halfway off the edge of a table and flick it. Its very noticeable outside the car as I've opened the door while driving to find out where its coming from. So far I've ruled out: Bodykit (removed pods and sideskirt) rear rego plate- put padding behind it Exhaust heat shielding, both in the middle and the back by removing it and putting padding in the gaps Everything in the boot was removed including jack and spare wheel Exhaust piping hitting the chassis - put a rubber grommet between the two Tapping various panels under the car, none seem to be loose Now, the rattle seems to come at around 1500-2500RPM in 1st, 2nd and a bit in third. Once it starts rattling even if i take it out of gear or clutch all the way in it'll continue to rattle until it fades. Cruising at 80km/h is fine, only when accelerating to it, it rattles. I've done a search, It looks like it could be the cat? but surely wouldnt that sound like a metal bucket full of marbles instead of a rattle? Could be the resonator? - what is that anyway? Loose body panels? - it wont explain why it happens only between 1500-2500rpm I'm taking it to the exhaust shop this weekend to see what they think, before then has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it if you did?
  15. Hey guys, I just got my front bumper resprayed and repaired last week. Initially all I wanted was the lower bit fixed up because I cracked it going over a bump. But when I got quoted $150, I thought what the heck ant do a full respray for another $150, so $300 all up. They did a great job, the front bar even felt more solid I used xtreme-bodykits at warwick farm They take the bumper off and you drive drive around without it for three days before you go back and put back on.
  16. R34 GTR Nur spec (Bayside blue) Subaru WRX 22B Honda NSX-R (White) Porsche 911 Turbo BMW 760 Daily driver (Black, illegal dark tints)
  17. I don't know if its the same as I have an r33, but I put 235s on the front and 245s on the rear. The downside is I cant rotate my tyres
  18. Yeah that doesnt look right. I've used two mechanical gauges and they sit at zero when not hooked up or engine switched off. I guess you can hook up the hose that comes with it and blow into it and see if the needle moves at least
  19. Ok I did a search and picked up a few threads about it. This thread seems to sum it up. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...wtopic=1461&hl= Looks like its pretty involved for a DIY job Has anyone got theirs corrected by a specialist in Sydney?
  20. Hi guys, I've had bigger wheels fitted for a while now (stock to 18s) and didnt think anything of it. Anyway during a highway trip I made sure I stuck to around the 110km/h speed limit but my friends who were following me were telling me I was speeding, doing 120 (double demerits), and it hit me that its because of the wheels. Just want to know if anyone has had their speedos corrected, is this a DIY job? if not who does it in Sydney? Approx cost as well. Thanks!
  21. I bought that issue just for that article. Here it is, good excuse to switch on my much underused scanner
  22. Interesting read. I'm starting out in IT too on the network side, most of the other guys I work with own WRX's and I wanted to be different. I saved up 2/3rds for the car and the rest was a personal loan Its not that hard, imports are (relatively) cheap, no wife or kids. I live at home too for now and bought a unit off the plan two years ago. I agree you're only young once and I wanted to own a turbo before I get the old ball and chain later on
  23. Go plan 1. I'm same as you I came from two autos and looking back I'm annoyed that I didnt start off in a manual. I got a friend to teach me manual in mid June in my brother's celica. I had to learn in a hurry too because I bought the skyline and had to pick it up a few weeks later. The hardest thing was the extra clutch pedal and learning the friction point and I stalled it alot. When my brother's celica wasnt available I hired a manual small car for the weekend. If you think you're ready, try reversing up an inclined driveway without stalling or going up a steep ramp like at a shopping centre, stop halfway and balance it and continue up, I found that to be some scary shit at first.
