This happened to me once in my old car when I changed my battery, the car wouldnt start and it would only make a clicking noise when I went to start the car. I called the auto electrcian and he said to try to put the car in neutral and roll it backwards about half a meter and it actually fixed the problem. I dont know what the technical explanation is but give it a go

Hey I'd like to know too to this question: Were they disabled during compliancing? My driving lights are next to my indicators and they won't turn on. I can't find any switches for it.

Lots of random stuff at http://www.tremek.com/forum/ edit, just saw the tunnel video - Holy cow

Hey, I thought this car looked familiar. I saw my first 350GT on Sunday night on Cleveland St near the city. It had temporary licence plates so it might have been out on a test drive. From my rear view mirror and on the side I thought it was a 350Z, so I was pretty amused when it zoomed past and I saw the Skyline badge on the rear. Looked hot, I like. I followed the guy until he turned off at anzac prd, he was really booting it.

Thanks for the replies guys. The cat hasn't been removed and Im pretty sure its a stock bumper. I'm off to repco this weekend to see what they have and might try autobarn too, so thanks. I was talking to an exhaust place and surprisingly they told me instead of running rich, I was running lean which I thought was odd. He said that when running lean the exhaust temps go much higher, as in five fold, not sure how true this is though.

lol I would never be caught admitting its mine The only hair dryer i have is in the engine bay
-
Its stock ECU, havn't touched it I think the exhaust is just too close to the edge but yeah running rich is a bit worrying. I'm not sure though I'm still getting 350-400ks out of a tank of fuel

That'll be great for future reference Just a bit of an update, I got rid of the moisture finally. I had another go at removing the tail light myself but I wasn't game enough in the end. I borrowed my sister's hair dryer and gave it a good blasting. Once the plastic gets really hot, I let it cool down then start again, working my way from left to right. The moisture is all gone now

You wont find a track long enough hehe so I guess my hat is safe
-
Did you read the rest of my post? I said I dont believe that you can do 330km/h Take it to the track and get the guys above to verify it, if they come back saying its true I'll eat my hat

Hi guys, Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this up? The problem is my exhaust tip sits too close to bumper. I was thinking of stick on checkerplate to cover that area above the exuast tip, the problem is I cant find this stuff anywhere so can anyone point me in the right direction? Any other suggestions is welcome too

The statement about doing 340km/h with plenty more left in it is the dumbest thing I've ever read. I smell bullsh!t, as if alot of claims from falconXR6T doesnt stink enough already. Whats even funnier is that you think 340km's isn't a rediculous enough speed already. Dude, you got a great car with some excellent mods but I wouldnt go around blowing my trumpet and claiming its faster than some of the world's fastest exotic supercars.

looks like its for NSW checks only, sorry for the bum steer man. But you did the check already so not to worry! I read this on the site and thought it covers VIC as well: "The NSW Register is linked to the Victorian, Queensland and South Australian Registers. NSW operates Register services for the ACT and Northern Territory. A link exists between NSW and WA REVS, however this only provides a warning mechanism to consumers on Western Australian encumbrances"

Which general part of sydney are you from? Can i get pics of: R33 Series 1 bonnet with fibreglass vents $150 [email protected] Thanks!
-
Sweet good luck!

Yes REVs is for NSW, Victoria and I think Qld too. Its an online check. Are you sure that link doesnt work? it does for me. You enter in the Car rego and VIN number and it will tell you: -If it has money owing on it -has any traffic fines -is stolen Also i think it also tells you if the odometer may have been wound back (but dont quote me on that)
-
Hi Madwob I was in the same position as you earlier this year. looks like you got most of the right checks done so sounds like you'll be fine. Dont forget to do the basics like online revs check: http://www.revs.nsw.gov.au/ I also do what gtst4door said and do a steering check. Drive up to around 60k's and hour and let go of the steering wheel and see if it stays straight. Also the wheels say alot, check the rear tyres and see if the wear is consistent with the fronts. It will generally be more worn but if its really worn compared to the fronts it means the owner likes to do burnouts and likes a to thrash. Check that all the electrics work, like wipers, aerial, the side mirrors fold. When I bought mine the cd player didnt work and this was the only thing I didnt check! Doesnt hurt to ask what comes with the car too, if its aftermarket rims ask if hes got stockies, or any spare engine parts or body parts - take it all! I got a few things like a genuine Trust wing thrown in. One last thing, I might get flamed for this but when you sign the transfer of rego papers where you declare the agreed sale value, ask if he will agree to fill in a lower sale figure so when you go to the rta and pay for the rego name change they will tax you less (I think the tax is 3% of sale value) Good luck with it dude

When you say sputter do you mean idle badly? Mine used to be the same. In the mornings it would sputter at the start except it didnt stop. I had to rev it once to get it to stop it from sputtering and then it was fine for the rest of the day. A new set of spark plugs fixed it for me. When I looked at my old spark plugs, the tips were so corroded i was surprised the car ran at all.

Atmo is ATMOspheric bov. Instead of plumbing the unused boost pressure back into the engine, it vents out to the atmosphere making that whistle/pshht sound everyone loves so much.
-
Ahh ok Thanks for confirming, been wondering that for a while now

Anyone know why drift and stock car racers tape up their headlights in an X shape? Is it because if they crash the glass wont go everywhere?
-
There shouldnt be any problems with them at all the engine is near indestructable especially without a turbo. The only reason I can see to want a non turbo skyline is for looks, so if its an R33 I'd get one with a bodykit or budget for one (roughly 1K to 1.5K) because they look like another family car without one. The R32 actually looks pretty decent without a body kit
-
My car came from Envy imports too They're OK but seem to cut corners. It was imported with around 104K kms on the clock. They only did a minor service on it so the timing belt wasnt changed and the spark plugs were still original and a turbo gasket leak wasnt fixed which is the first thing they should have fixed

The GTA is a beautiful car, classy too. I think you'll be getting different kind of people following you (read: chicks) Sorry I cant comment on its performance, I havnt driven one but on paper its very impressive

When Approaching A Red Light
sl33ek replied to fLipKnot's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Neutral then coast to stop. But then I have a habit of putting it in neutral whenever I can, love those downhills. Gt_t_34 to stop it from jolting when downshifting, put it in neutral, tap the gas so rpm goes up around 1k then downshift. Say you're in 4th, go to N, blip the gas then go to 3rd. It will be as smooth as an auto. Sounds awkward but its easy and becomes second nature.
