  1. lol very cool Thats what Takumi's car would look like if he became a cop Its the same paint scheme as Takumi's Panda Toyota AE86 trueno from Initial D complete with Japanese text on the side!
  2. Agreed, its an urban legend. You can have a completely stock R33 and still run an atmo BOV. I have a fairly stock car except a bit of boost and 3" exhaust and run an atmo bov just fine without stall, you just need to get it to a good tuner/mechanic like I did as they know what hoses to block off and plumb what to where. Yeah its wank factor hehe but I love my BOV, it doesnt go off under 3000RPM or normal driving unless I gas it so I can live with it. When you have a turbo its great to remind your self with a nice pssht every now and then hehe whats the harm in that The only problems I have is the exhaust pops occasionally on gear changes which it didnt do before which is normal from what i've read and can be fixed with an SAFC
  3. Hi there, I have a gtst but its an R33 so I dont know if this applies to you Today I upgraded my stock rims to 18s. They were marked as 18"x8.5 , and I was worried I'd have problems fitting it. As it turns out, I needed 5mm spacers for the front wheels for the spokes to clear the brakes. And yeah i know its frowned upon but I'm going to risk it. Othewise, it fits great, I got 235s at the front and 245s at the rear which was recommended by the tyre shop. No scrubbing at full lock and I didnt notice the car being any slower afterwards so I'm happy. Looks outstanding too which is a bonus so i took a photo Edit, I put a before shot as well which I took last week before the rims.
  4. I see "Nur" quite a bit around town, twice this week in fact this week on my way to work in the mornings. I assume its the legit Nur edition? Dude, if you see me, i'm in the white r33 drooling hehe. Nice clean car and love the spoiler Props for using a car like that as a daily driver
  5. An old style HKS sequential (not super) BOV will make the fluttering sound after the usual pssht sound. It has a rubber valve, which i think is why this happens but dont quote me on that. doesnt go off or is very quiet on gear changes under 3000rpm which suits me fine
  6. Evlo32 I had the same problem. Well similar anyway, it was a rattle coming from the passenger side dash. It got worse since I boosted it to 10psi a few weeks ago It happened when I was on hard acceleration usually, otherwise the turbo was fine, created normal boost etc I drove around like that for a while but after talking to a friend about it he said I had a leak in the turbo gasket which was spot on. He also said to get it repaired ASAP as the turbo is working harder to make the same boost which makes sense to me. I took it to my mechanic last weekend and he removed the turbo, sure enough my gasket was burt. He snapped the gasket bolts removing it, it was that burnt. Its fine now after I got it repaired ~$400. Usually around 300 or so but I had to buy new bolts too - ouchies Good luck
  7. The XR6 turbo is the only Australian made car that I really liked. Its the way ford and holden should be going years ago, making a turbo variant of their cars instead of making their engines bigger and bigger. For me its Japanese all the way. They just have a passion for tuning, and engineering to get the most out of the available high tech engines. Look at the japanese car racing series, its called the JGTC I think compared to Australia's equivalent. I still laugh when I watch V8 supercars on a sunday arvo knowing that a japanese 2.5L JGTC car can run laps around these 5L tanks. Australia only has two well known tuning houses, HSV and FPV. Japan has a whole array inlcuding the amazing Nismo amongst the big hitters like HKS, APEXi just to name a few. That shows that they are light years ahead of what Australia can offer and they have a true passion for cars and how they should be. JDM for me
  8. To my surprise I've seen blue cop rexes patrolling the liverpool area. They look MEAN, as in STI mean. I dont care whats under that bonnet, if that thing pulls me over I'll be on the brakes before they turn their sirens on. Getting pulled over by a commodore is opposite, its kind of like getting pulled over by a taxi to me, and i'd think of doing an outrun hehe just kidding of course
  9. Sorry for posting in the wrong section, :chairshot Mods can you move it to the performance section please!
  10. Hi guys, Need some advice here and yes I've done a search. I've been looking at replacing my dump pipe (the pipe that goes from the turbo to the cat) as I can get a 3" one for a reasonable price and seems like a logical upgrade. Whats the standard dump pipe size in inches and would a 3" one bolt on easily? Whats the expected gain in rwkw in doing this? Will it make the exhaust louder, if so how by how much? I only got mild engine mods so far like like 10psi, 3" cat back exhaust, bov, pod The exhaust is noisy enough as it is, sometimes it sets off car alarms so I want to know if its worth the extra power and live with the extra noise. If its only 5 or less rwkw then I wont bother Thanks!
  11. I got mine fitted today along with a boost gauge by my mechanic I only had him boost it to 9psi and I was very happy with the results. Not groundbreaking but theres definately an extra shove there. I got used to the extra power so I pulled over and tried to adjust for higher boost by my mechanic put the lock nut too tight haha so couldnt increase. Only drove home from work so far, but on full boost at 9psi the gauge read bang on 9 steady. Could only test it for a few seconds at a time because the *cough* speed limit *cough* comes up too soon! Cant wait for the weekend to come! Free plug for Unique Automotive at Villawood did a great install even wiring up my boost gauge wires for the funky lights which i didnt expect them to do.
  12. Sorry its not Repco, it was actually at Autobarn in Blacktown. All these car parts places are the same to me lol Really helpful staff, they even came out to the carpark and checked the plate to make sure its right. Sorry for the mis-information
  13. QM1 - white for mine was called Polar White by Repco when they mixed up a spray can full for me, it was a perfect match. Just a tip, to touch up the paint get a small paintbrush, the type used by art students - 30 cents each from hardware house, so buy plenty! Spray a small amount on the inside of the spray can's cap or any small container. Use the paintbrush to dip it in the paint and paint the scraped parts of your bodykit or chipped parts of body panels. The results were amazing for me can't see any scrapes at all
  14. Eggsellent... Thanks ECL
  15. I'm thinking of buying a set Would it fit?

  17. Hi Burko PM sent can
  18. Hey thanks Mitchy. I only undid 3 bolts so that was the problem, I'll look harder next weekend for the other bolts. And yeah it looks like its sealed with a ton of black sticky tar or something, hope that wont be a problem Cheers
  19. Hi guys, After the heavy rains in sydney recently i noticed that the left rear tail light has moisture and a bit of water in it. It seems to be stuck there and have no idea how it got in there as there is no visible gaps. Its in the indicator/revers light part, under the brake lights. Does anyone know how to get rid of this moisture? Its been trapped in there for a while now and doesnt seem to be going away. A friend of mine suggested drilling a tiny hole in it and park it outside on a hot day until it dries up and filling it up with sealant afterwards, will this work? I've tried removing the tail light assembly but it won't budge, there were three bolts that appear to be holding it on but it even once removed it wont come off, anyone know how to remove it? Thanks
  20. Hi there Predator Isnt it funny how the simple things nearly always work out to be the best solution Did you use the injector filler on a full/half or near empty tank of fuel? I'm getting ~350Km out of a tank on my gtst, I hope the injector cleaner will help it out a bit.
  21. Got mine three weeks ago, love it to bits. Polar white late 1995 GTS-T (is it a series 1.5? how can i tell?) 117,000kms Nismo adjustable coils all round, slightly lowered (previous owner didnt even know it was there) Nismo body kit HKS filter/Exhaust Front strut bar Stock wheels $14700 Annoying knocking sound in the boot was free (getting it checked) Crappy broken sony xplode speakers (changed to JVC MP3 - did this mod the next day!) Slight turbo manifold leak - $50 repair job
  22. Hey Duncan, thanks for the reply! I'm guessing 1 would be soft and 4 would be firm? Ride does seem kind of hard
  23. Hi guys, I got my car serviced today, and while I had the car jacked up I checked the suspension. To my surprise I found out that it had a nismo suspension setup. On the rears at the base of the shocks there is a dial with four numbers - 1,2,3,4. On the front where the strut bar is bolted on there is also a dial with those numbers. I know very little about suspension, what do these mean? Is it to adjust the ride height, the camber or the ride quality? I called the previous owner, who imported the car and even he doesn't know. Can anyone tell me what it is? Cheers
  24. Hey dudes Sorry for interrupting Bought one of these off ebay yesterday and am going to get my mechanic to install it on the weekend. Just a question and sorry if its been asked before, but would the stock boost gauge be OK for testing? Just in case I bought a boost gauge off ebay too. My car currently has stock boost. Dang, havn't even owned my Skyline for a week yet and I'm already after more boost!
  25. Thanks heaps guys, much appreciated! QM1 it is Me off to get some this weekend
