  4. Hey guys! I will be in on Saturday for the cruise up north Thanks to Zaffa for Friday night, and Zaffa and 33SXC for Sunday night, I have fallen in love with my car again with the work to the plugs and idle, sorry if the backfires blackened your front bar on the way down the hill 33SXC Zaffa doesnt finish until 10pm and I'm not real keen to hit the roads until then because the police/square km ratio is a bit high, so can we aim for a place to meet at 10:30pm so we can join you guys part way? Looking forward too this week. Keeper

    thanks mate
  11. Thanks guys had a great time, glad I made it out, and even more-so that I made it back out after dropping the lady off. Put a butterfly valve in my exhaust the other night after hearing the difference they made in the one I heard, I think it was Taaarks car before the dramas. Well done to everyone, and specially the last 6 cars of us that finished up around 1-2am
  12. I think the rocket is a 2.3L mate. Anyway its great engine and a great bike, it corners very well for a bike its size but it is probably worth testing one with the pegs not the footboards as it makes a huge difference to the ride. Anyway the amount of raw power if you get the traction control removed, open up the exhausts and drop the cat converter is amazing. In terms of maintenance there is next to none, just do the usual servicing and keep it under warranty, a rear tire will be your biggest expense as you will chew them something stupid. As for aftermarket bits, tons of chrome goodies to bolt on and make it look pretty, your local dealership will have a range you can look through. You have a secondhand market for these too, so dont jump into a new one right away if you don't need to. Good luck!
  13. like this one? http://www.uniden.com/products/productdeta...product=GMRS680 i have one of these at home, if i can only find the charger
  14. will bring my scanner, but what type of UHF do people use?
  15. okay i got 2 other skylines with me too, im a spaz, so is this in the carpark of quix, or the carpark near quix and the bus stops?
  16. I meet that criteria, can think of a good couple roads to drive too, if a mountain run is being searched for. Can even think of a mad Mexican restaurant near Mudgee at the bottom of Springbrook if people want to eat after and want to link it all in.
  17. will we be able to spoon?
  18. andrew del was driving it i always lend my GTR out, while i have no license it keeps it being used yeah i have had tons of pipes blow off, the stock clamps are crap, i replaced them with some huge non worm style ones, about $5 ea but worth it, if you do them up too tight they crush the thin metal tho
  19. im not sure how to best answer your question sorry, maybe you should try a google search or a forum search
  20. Ow, yesterday my plugs were running a bit crap after my mate had borrowed the GTR, so I took it for a run up Mt beachmont, set the boost to limit at 1.2 bar as usual, and part way up the hill *BANG* the loudest what i thought was a backfire went off, but came from the front, the car was still runnning good, but as soon as i slowed down enough to use the 3-4rpm range it started running very rough so i assumed my plugs were just fowled a little more, anyway got home and discovered the pipe that takes air from the turbos and feeds it to the intercool had blown itself open! about a 270 degress split around it, the material reenforcement the only then that stopped it seperating further, anyway check the boost controller after and the highest i got it too was 1.19 bar, i have been up to 1.28 before. crazy stuff, fortuantally the boys at nizzpro had one lying around i could swap it with, then some petrol and a toothbrush to attack the plugs it like new again...
  21. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/HO...tml&st=100# my post form last time http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Rb...html&st=80# my dyno post i suppose when you look at that you will get 1-2kw in mid range, but seriously for $80 a wind up boost tee will make a hell of a lot more difference
  22. should do, my understanding may be wrong, but if you did two dyno runs and the only adjustment was the switch and they are 99.5% the same that means there is no difference right? ill look for the link of the graphs, may be on SDU
  23. I think the biggest concern s that car doesn't have any seats let alone a body, make for a shit comfort factor
  24. so true, if you have a GTR you will understand why the name 'skyline' has been raped so badly by gts and crap gts-ts (i admit there are some very nice examples out there too so dont get me wrong), that the name skyline no longer applies to the GTR. dream cars will always be dream cars to %98 of the population but for the 2% that can afford it, or the people who cant and wait until they are 20 years old and can afford, the car is more special
  25. why after we dyno'd and proved that this mod does nothing at all, do people still flood the thread and keep modding their cars to do it? maybe i missed something, has anyone else done a before and after dyno of this? or am i the only one who bothered to actually see if there were real results
