  2. SWEET DOGS!!!!
  3. Hmmm... The speed sensor on a R32 takes the analog signal from the gearbox then sends that to the HICAS, ECU & Power Steer units. the 4WD sensors are wheel mounted from memory. Anyway, if you swapped instrument cluster, the new cluster may be working, but may have a faulty, damaged or missing speed sensor unit inside it! search for my name and speed sensor, there is a post on how to swap the sensors over, if you have the old one still I imagine you should be able to swap sensors and fix the problem in under an hour!!! If the heavy steering and hicas problem has come about since the speedo swap this would make sense, and also stop the data going to the ECU for your powerfc, but if the problem had been there for a long time i imagine it is your loom that is damaged. Good luck!!!
  4. thanks for all the help guys! Just to clarify the EL2 will need re-wiring to suit, but a EL1 should be a direct plug and play?

  7. Hi, When I got my car there was an Apexi EL Boost guage in the glove box, its the bar type, and on the back is a 3 pin and a 5 pin connector for a plug, but no actual point for the air. the part number on the bacdk is APE-13485 I assume this is for a system controlled by a computer, does anyone know what type of computer and where i could look at sourcing one?
  8. ensure the ECU in the boot was left in. if you dont like the hicas light, removed the instruments (5 min job) and talk the bulb out

  12. Very specifically I require; A speedometer and speed sensor from a 1989 model R32 GTR. A 1990 model may be sufficient also but the speed sensor must be of the 3 screw sensor! If unsure what the speed sensor is... When you open the cluster up (a few small clips that simply pull open, but can be pushed back shut), when you undo the speedometer the speed sensor can be found on the back of the speedo unit, pictures are; http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=152998 HERE Anyway PM or email (best) [email protected]
  13. i have a stock cluster for a 1989 R32 GTR but it is missing the electric speed sensor so will not work with HICAS, 98000kms showing. i need a unit with a working speed sensor or the 3 screw type, interested?
  14. the speed sensor triggers high or low power assist for steering via the ECU from what i have read, when your steering wont return to normal does the speed sensor still show on the laptop? could be a intermittent connection
  15. Looking at purchasing a car to add to the family, its a R32 GTR with a little work done on botl ons, something I noticed when checking it out was a buzzing noise coming from the fuel tank/pump? This is noticable over the exhaust system when outside the car at the rear, im my current GTR you cant hear the fuel pump even from inside the car when its running I was thinking of taking it to a local Nissan performance guy to get checked out but would it be more likely to be a crook fuel pump, or an aftermarket one with higher flow rate? Would i be safe in assuming that this should only be a $200-$300 thing to replace?
  16. Hi guys, I had to wire my rear sensor up and not sure why but when I graph the output of the front and rear sensor in Data Scan they seam to be at opposite places under load, when one is reading a higher value, the other is low, and so on it switches back and forth. Have added a picture, can anyone else with a R32 GTR confirm this is right?
  17. moe helpful crap. R32 Sensor diagram Please note the pin numbers do not line up if you have to cross-wires, instead R33 Sensor diagram Keep an eye on what wires go where if using R33 GTR O2 Sensors in a R32 GTR
