Vehicle: R32 GTR Problem: After a minute or two the steering becomes heavy, soon followed by the HICAS light illuminating on the dash cluster. My Solution: HICAS ECU is kaput! This can be located in the boot on the drivers side under the parcel shelf. How to test yours: Under the parcel shelf three 10mm head bolts hold in the ECU, undo these then unclip the ECU, replace with one from a car with working HICAS. For my test I used the HICAS ECU from a R32 GTSt, worked excellently, only took 5 mins to d the swap and back, and probably about 10 minutes driving it. Hopefully this will make it easier to test the ECU before you buy and fit a lock bar and rip out all the HICAS system.

Hi guys, I need a HICAS ECU for my R32 GTR, but a GTSt one will do the job fine (i have tested this) Thanks David

my 89 gtr drives fine for a couple mins, then the steering goes heavy, then the hicas light comes on further down the road, i had a feeling this is too do with the ecu so im borrowing the ecu from a GTSt today to see if it remedies the problem, if it does i will try write up a 'how to stop a damaged ecu guide' as the ecu physically looks fine inside, other than that i may have to remove the hicas, something i dont really want too do

im just sick of the searches being filled with crap like the whoring threads. im even having troubles finding the hicas solutions, on the problems other people have had

is this a good upgrade choice? is it easy to do? we have a R33 turbo on the table at home, what would i have to modify to fit onto the R32?

hi guys, i got my gtr recently and it came with aus complianced versions of the tail lights, the outside round lights are indicators, insides are tail/brake lights and the little ones in the middle are for reversing. would anyone nearby be interested in a swap for a set of normal ones? i can help fit/swap my car is gunmetal grey

haha what about just day to day driving, wold 14psi be safe? until i get the ecu and tune?

hi guys, i have a 89 r32 gtr with HKS 2530s, i got the turbos inspected and they are near new condition, also have pods and a 4" cat back exhaust i installed a BLITZ sbc-r as the car was slower than my sisters pony, and is now going good running around 15psi, i had been going up to around 18psi over the weekend which hauls ass but im worried about leaning out the engine, also spiking when it got real bad with too much gain was blowing the intercooler piping off, i know i need new clamps but what should i be alright running boost wise until i can afford a SAFC or similar?

hi guys, another ex Skylines Downunder member here, picking up my R32 GTR this weekend from sydney and would love to come and stick it on the dyno next weekend, is it too late for me to put my hand up and ask in? would be able to make payment tomorrow

will print a map of sydney tonight and see where we are staying friday, airport, car yard etc. we wont head back till sunday morning
