  1. Repco, they were $4 each when I had to buy them about a month ago.
  2. There was a silver V35 parked opposite me in the RACQ staff carpark the other day. Nice car!
  3. So it's not pushing out enough voltage to turn the starter motor. Basically, what Zennon said is your best option. Otherwise, if you're an RACQ member get them to come out and try it (and then try and sell you a battery). Either will do the same thing.
  4. Or the battery has collapsed and it's time for a new one?
  5. I do that most nights
  6. Yeap, no goods, no money. There's really no point expecting this deal to end up with you having the car, and since "you never paid him any money" he can't really complain when you reverse the cheque. Should make a nice overdraw charge on his account if he doesn't have the money anymore. As part of any court case, I'd expect a copy of his receipt for the purchase of his plasma tv. Prove that he owned it in the first place. If you were taking the car for a test drive, where did you get the time to steal the tv? did you just walk into his house and walk out with it while he was watching?
  7. Ah, considering they were only sold to US (and a few other LHD) markets, nope. Just buy an evo.
  8. Because they cost of converting them isn't worth it? Because even the americans think they're lacklustre cars. The same reason nobody imports any american car (<30 years).
  9. Right hand drive?
  10. Silver R34 4 door in the RACQ member car park at EMP just before
  11. It does sound exactly like all the other cases of coil packs failing. I'd suggest borrowing a set of coilpacks and eliminating that before going too far with the ECU. Sorry I can't help you.
  12. Bryn, you're welcome to borrow mine. I obviously need my car during normal work hours, but if you're able to work something out around that, I'm fine with it. You'll have to come pull it out though. Hell, I need to do an oil change soon, so I'll just do that while you're off playing with the ECU.
  13. +1 to that. If you just asked for an install he probably just quoted you what he'd like to install. Tell him what your budget is and what you have in mind and I'm sure he'll work something out and still be a decent install.
  14. Spotted a white R34 GTR heading north on the gateway bridge this morning
  15. Like most have said, it's normal for it to sit at 0 (atmospheric) when the engine is off, and for it to go negative when idle (the motion of the engine literally sucks air into it). However, if the amount it goes down has changed and you haven't done changed anything (pod filter, boost controller etc), then you might have a leak. Does it still make the same maximum boost? (stock on the 34 is just over 3/4, or half way between 0 - 1) Does it hold that boost if you hold your foot down?
  16. Since when? This is a NSW/VIC rule. In QLD it must be secured and dry. But that's about it. There's never been a limit on intake modifications.
  17. There is a bright red R32 GTST in VI this morning.
  18. Is your $20K car worth the $200 you'd save going cheap on an alarm install?
  19. There was a plateless Silver R34 sedan (twin to my car) sitting in VI at RACQ today around lunch time. Somebody buying a new 34?
  20. Spotted a black R34 Cxx60 on logan road today about lunch time. I was in my workmate's supra.
  21. How bad? Hit any gutters lately? Try getting a wheel balance. Cost about $5 each per wheel at any tyre shop. If that doesn't fix it, you have to start looking at suspension bushes and other things that other people can probably explain better.
  22. I saw a multi coloured R32 in the vehicle inspections here at RACQ this morning with what looked like SAU stickers on the front bumper.
  23. I bought my 34 from there as well (Probably just before you bought yours). I found both Mark and the other salesman I worked with to be overly pushy. But that was really to be expected and didn't phase me much. However the car has held up, so no real complaints. They had plenty of V35's down there at the time (Just over a year ago) so I'd assume they will still have a steady supply
  24. Written off because the repairs would have cost more than economically feasible. I.e. it could have been repaired, but it was cheaper for the insurance company to write the car off and replace it. The rough rule is > 1/2 the value of the car in one accident. Something like that. Easy enough to do on an import where parts have to come from Japan etc and are hard to find. That's my best guess.
