  1. Don't know for certain about strength differences, but rumours I've heard is that the 34 box can take more. Fitting shouldn't be a problem. You will lose a gear though (4 speed on the 34 box, 5 speed on the 33 box). I believe the reason behind this has to do with strengthing of the belts etc. Perhaps somebody can clarify that though.
  2. R33 GTST, R34 GTT with the hicas removed if you don't want 4 wheel steering.
  3. Your friend bought steering components (or components near the steering) from a country that has their steering wheels on the wrong side and wonders why they didn't fit correctly?
  4. Spotted a black R34 two door changing a tyre on the gateway northbound this afternoon. Hope you got that sorted quickly dude.
  5. Police can't move it unless they have the permission of the owner, or if it's in a dangerous spot/tow area etc...
  6. If you don't know where you are/are going, stick to main roads as long as possible (even if directions say it's quicker through the back streets). It's easy to miss turns when the streets don't quite match what's on the maps, but main roads tend to have more/bigger signs to make finding streets easy.
  7. Waved to a black R34 sedan on the gateway this afternoon with SAU stickers
  8. It would be from NSW transport. You'd have to mail them the plates and they'll mail you out a cheque for the remaining rego. You'd need to do a transfer of ownership. Shouldn't be difficult to do, just download the forms of the Queensland transport website before you head down so that if you need to get the old owner to sign them, you can. Insurance. Just ring them up on the day and take out a policy on the vehicle. You get a cooling off period (either 14 or 28 days, I can't remember) where you can cancel it before having to pay any money (unless you crash it in that time, then naturally they'll expect you to pay up) (Used to be that you'd get a cover letter for a short period, but I'm not sure if insurance companies do that any more, Just car's didn't for me) Have you looked around up here for a R34 first though? I know that there have been plenty for sale over the past year.
  9. I might hang around work for an extra hour (work being RACQ just up the road), then head down.
  10. My R34 GTT has: Done the trip from Brisbane to Sydney in a day. No issues. Just spent a minute longer cooling down the engine before switching it off. Plenty of >3hour trips. Does 2 >1hour trips on a daily basis. Hasn't missed a beat. Use decent oils and regular maintenance and these cars will out last most cars on the road.
  11. Even though Godzilla aren't northside, they're only a short trip down the gateway anyway.
  12. I see you in your red cef driving the opposite way on the gateway all the time.
  13. A decent set of tyres won't hurt
  14. 91RON and 98RON, with the timing set to handle the 91RON? Of course you're not going to get that much effect (though there will be some, 98 still burns better, the timing just isn't set up to take advantage of it). But with 98RON you can put more timing in (either manually, more commonly automatically by the ECU these days) and get a whole lot more economy/power out of it. The opposite being the reason why 91RON pings, because the timing is too far advanced and is causing preignition. I see 95RON becoming a thing of the past here in australia, with a lot of euro/jap cars coming over requiring 98RON.
  15. What are you getting out of interest? auto? Mine is 138kw running 9psi through the stock exhaust (which is definately holding it back). If you're only looking at < 200kw, then you can probably skip the FMIC on the 34. Powerfc won't work with the auto (there are mixed thoughts on this), but emanage ultimate will definately be a better option over the SAFC. But exhaust should be your first step, then wind up the boost.
  16. Normally that's the traction control switch. But doesn't it say "TCS off" I'm pretty sure that's what mine says, but it's been a while since I've looked.
  17. A wine red R32 followed me for a little bit on the gateway this morning
  18. 53XYN from up here in queensland has 20's I think. Might be worth asking him.
  19. As are a lot of R33 GTST drivers unfortunately. There are some around, but you'll pay for them as there is a high demand now that they've stopped making them.
  20. "The nice chap" haha, awesome. No problems
  21. pictures! SCC '07 Here are a preview of some, there's more in the album: most of my shots are just me trying to get as many cars in as possible, so no real individual shots (except for the couple of shots where I'm getting ideas for exhausts) Thanks to the SAU team for the organisation again, and the drive was fantastic.
  22. Spotted a black R34 yesterday at Garden City and a white R34 at the Kippa-Ring shopping centre carpark today.
  23. Import Auto Centre at springwood? They're a great car anyway
  24. Looks exactly like my car right down to the wheels. Where'd you buy it?
