I doubt you'd lose power with just the cat back, but you won't gain much either. Better off finishing the exhaust off with extractors etc. For the auto, do the same thing the turbo 34's do and get the valve body upgrade (you'll have to search it, there's a few threads around in the transmission section)

When I bought my car (in QLD) the warranty details where as follows: 3 months if it was younger than x years (5 if I remember correctly) or 1 month if it was older. I can't remember the number of years it was, but I remember thinking that pretty much every skyline would fit in the 1 month category (including the 99 model I bought) just to give you an idea

Are we talking about detectors? Or just GPS systems with the locations of camera's etc stored. I can't see why the GPS type systems (i.e. some sort of database of fixed camera locations) wouldn't be legal, but systems that actively detect radars etc are still illegal (as far as I'm aware).

While sitting in the passenger seat, pay attention to what the real driver is doing at different times (things like foot control, where they look etc) and start getting into a driving mindset, rather than a passenger mindset (if that makes sense)

Series 2 is 2000 onwards isn't it? I have a 99 model and it's series 1 And the extra torque isn't anything to write home about

Spotted a (different) black R34 beside me as we both headed up the gateway bridge side by side tonight. Very nice looking car

From the recent qld dyno day, courtesy of Col-GTSX: I have one of my own dyno run that I could upload as well, but honestly, even watching my own cars dyno run is boring. My camera clips most of the sound out to begin with, then youtube just makes it worse. Not being able to hear just how loud these really are (or are not in the case of my car) is just sucky.

The only mod my car has is a bleed valve running 9psi. I'm still running the factory exhaust I'm even more stock that n15mo

I think my 180hp (135kw) @ 9psi puts me as a contender for lowest power output for the day (please say I beat the honda though...) I've got photo's of most cars, but don't have time to upload them tonight.

I've had this happen to me before. Hit the brakes and the brake pedal goes straight to the floor, not fun. I was glad there was still just enough fluid in the system to pull me up in time. Definately needs to be bleed and not just topped up

I have no idea to be honest, I'd have to check the insurance quote to see if it's listed. I'm sure mine will cloud up soon enough

There's always going to be a lot of "Turbo or Nothing" naysayers around here, but what it comes down to is this: Unless you're doing something seriously wrong, all skylines make great cars to drive. For the price bracket and your requirements (non turbo) you'd be hard pressed to find a better overall car. As for importing, unless you can guarantee that those low k's are real, I'd look somewhere closer to home first. oh, and 4 doors ftw

Should point out that I got 480km's the other day on Vortex 98 (My fuel of choice, as it's the only really convienent one around me). If I pushed my luck I think I could have got it well above 500km (Ended up putting just over 50L when I filled up). And on my trip to sydney and back recently I've gotten upwards of 600kms to a tank. It's all about tune (although mine's stock) and driving style. 340km to a tank just sounds a bit heavy footed.

I get around 430-450 from full to fuel light with a fair amount of 100km/h driving. So for 340: what mods? just how granma is granma really? how often are you on boost? what kind of traffic are you driving in?
