  1. I would sell the cooler and get something more appropriate in the piping, as it will start to get ugly under there
  2. If you use an rb26 crank, you will need to get different pistons wiht a different pin height. RB30 FTW
  3. But a turbo with double the hp ability doesn't have double the rotating dimensions, or double the rotating inertia
  4. Look in cubes signature, there is a guide, however i recon 20 pages of this thread are the same question as yours.
  5. IMO 99% people put singles on their car to make more power. 65% put a bigger turbo than the power they want to make/end up making, and 10% use these turbos to their full capacity. Have a look at the mafia's power curve. Hes making the most of the turbo, and makes heaps of torque. How many rb25's on here have gt35r's and dont make 350-360rwkw, i think thats the real problem, most people want to see a big 700hp turbo strapped to their motor, doesnt matter if it only makes 500hp because it doesnt have the supporting mods, and the lag makes it feel like a rocket.
  6. I doubt it has been bored out 1 thou, 2 thou piston clearnace cant be right for the forgies, its just too small, they would sieze. 4 thou is only a little loose, why not just chuck it back together, it wouldnt have been causing the massive dramas that the car has.
  7. Relays aren't fast enough, but 6 vl ones would be fine
  8. I would guess .075
  9. From my experience you are better off getting him to pull it down and diagnose it, he might lie, but he might not, at least its easier than trying to sue him.PS is it stock? Did he install it?
  10. Chiptorque in silverwater can chip it, although that wont fix it if there is a problem caused by the diesel.
  11. Depends on the piston and the application, clearance for forgies can be anywhere from 2.5 to 5 thou.
  12. Cams will physically fit, although you will have to ditch your VCT, and get the cams reground to suit hydraulic lifters, or fit a solid lifter kit
  13. Just be carfull when using the compounds that you dont get it too hot, you can easily burn yourself and melt the alloy if you give it some. You can actually get the alloy to "run", although the grinder probably wont have enough grunt to cause too many dramas(ive got 2 of these hooked up together with a bit of 3/4 heater hose for more hp!)
  14. Parrot in the glovebox
  15. Yes, but the 760nm at 7000 is going to make a lot more KW than the 689 at 4000, WHat you are really looking at is the shape of the torque and power curves, the more like a big fat hill the better the drive, ski ramps are only good for drag cars with close ratio boxes or autos
  16. Are they genuine, ive heard of the copies having water leak issues Also both the genuine and copy can leak between the casting and the metal pipe thats pressed into it that the radiator hose goes onto.
  17. Or you could just use GTR rods, no need for balancing(as long as you get a set), rod bolts or shotpeening for 280rwkw (and you use rb25 pistons)
  18. Could definately use 6 VL ones, but it still doesnt get around the recharge time.
  19. There are a couple of threads on here on how to do it with different coilpacks. Unfortunately the igniters dont handle it so well, as these coils have a much higher current draw, and th other problem is the ignition dwell time isnt suited to the se big coils, so they dont fully charge(saturate), hence you dont really get the full benefit of the big coil. I dont think ive ever heard of a splitfire dying, all the people that ive heard of having problems with them are because they fit splitfires to fix something which wasnt the coils.
  20. 550hp at the flywheel will be fine, 550 at the wheels is looking for trouble, have you done the rods already, or are you asking if thats the way to go?If not i would recommend getting some aftermarket rods, as they are dirt cheap nowadays.
  21. Try making up a short ignition lead, and use that to see if there is spark at those cylinders. Pull the plug out to confirm that it is wet. If there is no spark(which is very likely)then i would say it is probably the igniter. Is it the same igniter you used before on the rb25de?
  22. Im sure nismoid can recommend a good head place in VIC
  23. If the pistons are heavy, then it would suggest there is plenty of meat up there, just measure it first.
  24. For the $200-250 i would just buy a Q45 throttle body, as the tps and bolt pattern will work without drama. Do you really want to redrill a $1000 manifold to try and save $200?
  25. Could be, do a trouble code search and it should come up
