  1. EPS, im pretty sure if you do the sums, it wouldnt end up any cheaper, by the time you pay $150 to hire a trailer, $150 for the ute+25c km($500), 2000km of fuel(about $400) and about 30 hours of boring driving, its really not cheaper at all.
  2. If you were to use an r34 Getrag, how bad would the 3.3 ratio be, an r34 has 3.5:1, is heavier and has a 2.6 vs 3.5, then you may just be looking for a set of rear diff gears from the infinity to fit a the 32 rear.
  3. What happens with warranty if you do follow his advice, After the breather blow their load every time you rev it, then the head will have to come off. You dont restrict the head to increase pressure to the bottom end, you do it because there is too much flow to the head standard.
  4. Unfortunately none of the mazdas come in auto
  5. Can you tell me what you mean, is it a good thing?
  6. Shouldnt really matter if the diff is say 30 or 40 mm further back than a stocker, Easier than trying to mod that sump by the looks of it.
  7. Manual i30 crdi coupe 0-100 11.3
  8. Im pretty sure a diesel auto wagon i30 would be slower than a audi, after driving one i fould it a bit lacking, however this isnt for me, and my wife doesnt care. The 5 litre/100km is nice, however i would have to wonder if a landcruiser ran up the back of you, how would the kids go. Also an i30 is $19,990, by the time you get a diesel wagon auto, it is $31k.
  9. Are you saying that the VT handled better?, i cant believe i just said that
  10. Other than being slowish, (9.5 0-100) The audi allroad looks like a good thing, dont really care about performance though. They are $110,000 new
  11. Damn, should have read the last post
  12. Fuel pressure reg has a split diaphram, fuel pressure is going into the manifold through the vacuum hose
  13. No auto alas, otherwise it would be a mazda6 if manual was an option
  14. You are entitled to a hire car during the repair process. All insurance repair work nowadays has to have a lifetime warranty on t he repair, and i think a 10 year warranty on the paint, so it really doesnt matter who fixes it.
  15. Its getting time to buy my wife a replacement car from her Mitsubishi RVR Supersports. I get a great deal on diesel, so petrol is out of the question. There are so many cars that sort of suit the criteria, but having been out of the trade for 5 years, i dont have a lot of experience with these newer cars. Not looking for anything small-must fit 3 baby seats, but not massive(ie not a Prado) and prefer somthing highish for safety visability. Second hand, but under about 5 years, will spend up to 30, but prefer about 20k Some of the options: Captiva 7 Hyundai IX 35 BMWx3 BMW 320d Skoda Octavia Volvo v70 diesel(only seen 1) Hyundai I30 wagon( A bit small) VW Passat wagon Nissan xtrail Peugot 407 Wagon Cherry(not) Kia(also not too keen) Audi A4 wagon Audi Q5 Audi Allroad 2004 Ford mondeo TDCi wagon Hyundai Santa Fe Citroen C5(eek) Any Advise appreciated
  16. Its funny, a higher HP car can actually get better fuel efficiency, as it wont go into boost as easily being driven normally, I have a mitsu RVR which gets terriable economy as on the freeway, event he slightest prod of the pedal makes boost. As long as you dont put cams or lower the comp, the economy of the higher hp motor should be slightly better, as the larger exhaust housing will reduce pumping losses, however its all in the tune. FWIW i would say a functional VCT setup would probably make a good benefit to consumption.
  17. Your point of gassing it in 3rd for the lights and 5th on the freeway doesnt account for the fact that when gassing it the accel pump enrichens the mixture. The difference in the logs you discuss are more likely caused by the notorious delay and inaccuracies caused by the Wideband-nistune setup, which is why you should use the average function, and its not accurate when you use it in the above example, as the base map AFR prediction doesnt allow for accel pump. Hence why when you do power logs on a dyno, you load the engine and/or turn off the accel pump before tuning power runs.
  18. Isnt charlie(NXTIME) running these
  19. Yep, lower control arms, crossmember, rack and box, all out the bottom. Pretty sure the japs have it down to about 1 hour.
  20. Then tune it with e85, what compression are you running?
  21. Usually use a reed valve to stop the exhaust gas, like a 2 stroke reed valve.
  22. ^^^^Exactly, thats why noone makes a good one for factory position
