I dont think Richard Aubert(autronic)would like to here them being compared to a microtec! The way an autroni is tuned, they come with a base map(you enter a whole lot of info like injector size, comp ratio, etc)They have autotune, but they really should be tuned on a dyno, as autotune doesnt do timing adjustment. They are very similar in programability and results to a motec M800. PS Larry Perkins cracked the shits when CAMS told him he had to pull the Autronic out of his V8 supercar and use a Motec
Action thread repairs is based in Berowra, he is very good and reasonably priced, sometimes its better to spend the $100-150 and save urself the grief if u dont have much experience with these things
SHouldn't affect mixtures much, although running a bit lean up top, boost curve not too happy, could be a(or both) O2 sensors, they will make it run rich all the time except under load, resulting in heavy fuel consumtion, what management?
IT is not affected by a front mount, it is the temp where the dyno intake temp probe is placed, usually in the pod filter or the intake to the airbox, need a cold air intake, or the probe has moved.
If you want the noise, spend your money on a PFC d-jetro, and vent the standard bov, lots af noise and more power, without the black smoke, stalling and bad fuel economy.
I am building an rb26/30 with almost that amont of power in mind, i removed all the unnecesary metal between the journals with an angle grinder with a grinding disc, then knife edged and rounded the leading edges of the counterweights, then went over the whole thing(except the journals) with a sanding flap disc on the angle grinder. Then i had the crank machined for a collar. Had it cryogeniced, then ground and finally, the whole lot balanced.
to check the coils, unbolt them from the bracket, and lift them up by the wiring whilst the motor is running you can here and see the sparks coming out the side off the coil ive seen 4 dead coils on cars that drive fine until you boot it
