  4. If the motor is still apart, i would definately run the vct. It costs like $100 to keep it. Its not a gimmick, nissan designed it for stock cams
  5. If you are going to get it milled, i would definately get some eztra alloy welded in around the front water gallery, the head gasket only has about 3mm to seal there.
  6. Mercury outboard cdi coils, or msd coils can be made to fit under the coil cover.

  8. Did you weld the head up around the front drivers side, where there is little overlap on the headgasket?

Cant see how fitting a turbo to the stock motor would cost anywhere near that of fitting a turbo motor. 155,000k is not high km, dont be fooled into thinking import motors/cars have 50,000km on them. As said stock turbo/exhaust manifold aftermarket dump pipe, aftermarket front mount, a set of neo turbo injectors (i have a set for $150 if you want) and a nistune. Should see 200rwkw easy at about 9psi.
  12. If oyu are going to have a crack at making your own manifold, why not rotate the exhaust housing, but keep the turbo in the same location. That way you will be ablt to do a proper merge collector, but will not need to change intake piping or oil/water lines.
  13. I would put an r34 turbo and exhaust manifold on with a front mount, but you wont tbe able to run 20psi(unless on e85). What ecu are you planning on running

  15. Just a note for the guys who want to run twin HID's. 2 points. Firstly you cant flash people if they cut you off, are your mates etc. Secondly if you have your low beams on and switch to high beams, the high beams will take about 20 seconds to come on. I wouldnt be doing it. I have low/high HID's in my truck, but they use a common bulb, so i only have the flashing problem, which is a real pain.

  17. I had an rb30/25 NEO with a mildly highflowed r33 turbo, it made 170rwkw @7psi, held boost fine, torquey, but tapered off really fast. You mey find that you end up making the 300rwkw you want at 4500rpm, and 270rwkw at 6000, which is about 1/2 the torque as 4500
  18. No you dont, its this simple, hold speed at 100km/h, load up the dynoto say 40-50rwkw, look at ecu/hand controller to see accurate rpm, enter into dyno. It takes about 30 seconds, or of you have the pickup option on th edyno it takes about 10 seconds to select rpm as the scale instead of km/h
  19. You can do the cam swap without removing the belt, you need to remove the cas bracket, and cabletie the cam belt to the camwheels. support the gears so they dont frop. Make sure you sneak the cams down gently and evenly or the cam canbe snapped. I do the cam swap with the motor about 20degrees before top dead centre. Might as well replace the valve cover seals at the same time if you havent already done so.
  20. What pressure ratio on the blower. I would have thought reducing the blower speed by that much would have resulted in it running no boost?
  21. Mine uses a PWM soleniod controlling a vacuum can actuator.
  22. IMO nissan did a half arsed job on this, they used the same sensor as the water temp sensor, which is very slow to respond, and as noted is affected by the temp of the surface it is bolted to. Do r34's have the same sensor just in a different location?
  23. Scope is big enough. My Iveco has one and its 7 years old. If you manually move the actuator it gets 15psi at idle. No wastegate. The problem is geting the exhaust housing to hold together with petrol egt's
