  1. For the power you arehoping to make, there is no way stock springs will be up to it, especislly with bigger than stock cams.
  2. And then there is the friction of the boundary layer of gas around the perimeter of the pipe. At a guess i would say a 4in would flow more than 2x3inch.

    Id pay 50K for the wreck, judging from the limited photos, looks like a new turret, end up with a fairly cheap modded gtr
  6. The clutch may hold on an rb25, but the rb26 torque spec is double the rb25 spec.
  7. I agree with trent, it will either be too tight a piston to bore, or ring gaps. For your application, i would be running at the higher end of the specs for piston to bore, and maybe add 2 thou to the top ring gap, depending what the spec is. If any of the clearances are less than they should be, i would be asking for the machining costs back.

  9. So he is saying you can have a resposive 8:1 engine by giving the clutch a kick, wonder how long 3rd would last in my gtr gearbox if i drove it like that.
  10. How much power are you after. By your calculations simply fitting a forward facing plenum to a stock car will give you more power, which is far from the case. The shorter runnurs of the forward plenum reduce low and midrange torque

  13. LOL @ all the people saying only buy jap ones, when up until the latest HKS cam gears were renown for slipping and the tooth material wearing. From what i have seen the outers on most of the cheaper gears are steel, and 5 bolts, just the qualtiy of the capscrews are poor.

  16. Is it a car yard? Im guessing they will give it a quick hone in the car, new rings and slap it back together. If the piston is damaged, they will only replace one with a factory item(they are $80) Thay really arent obliged to do any more if it is covered by warranty.
  17. As steve said, everything can be measured to confirm where it goes, however if there is no discernable difference when measuring, then it doesnt matter where they go. Then check balance and assemble.

  19. No they wont work, pretty sure CP do NEO specific pistons. Or build a 3 litre with VL turbo pistons, and the comp ends up at 8.8:1
