  1. I would have thought once the exhaust wheel has exploded, the turbo stops spinning, as there is nothing to drive it, hence why the comp wheel is fine. If it was chewed comp wheel/housing on the pistons, then it would be on all the pistons, not just the corresponding three to the blown turbo.
  2. How low end power are we talking, surely a rb20 turbo would suffice. A mate has a vl with an rb20 turbo, and it does skids at about 1500rpm. The top end isnt as restricted as i imagined it would be.

  4. Will you take $40 posted to sydney for the lot?
  5. Beigh that the problem with the stocker is too much flow and pressure banking up to the rear cylinder, i would think the modded one will be worse. Flow testing it wont really tell you much, only logging the individual cylinders afr/egt's will give the answer.
  6. Now all they need to do is get the variable A/R exhaust housings to hold together under petrol EGT's
  7. If the trouble code is ignition signal, The problem is most likely the cas.
  8. As title says, im looking at doing a rack conversion on my starion, need s13 crossmember, rack and the steering shaft. Prefer sydney, pm or call 0423 328 738, thanks
  9. Its exactly as spoolup said. I have chevrods in my rb30, as rb30 rods weren't available at the time, its the 7 thou off the crank with 60 thou oversize bearings that i dont like, as it gives no room to move in the future if there are dramas.
  10. What make is the radiator?
  11. Well i guess its a catch 22 situation, a manifold which gives better spool will have less flow to the wastegate, hence worse boost control. I would say thats why Kiers GTR runs that setup, best of both worlds
  12. It should be pretty obvious to them, you remove the factory pressed in plugs, tap the holes and fit grub screws.
  13. LC-1 does have a narrow band output, you cold do exactly as you planned. At least the hand controller could tell you something meaningful by using the o2 volt to tell AFR, but a datalogit setup is far superior.
  14. HOw much fuel is there in the tank. Im guessing the fuel pickup has fallen off or the feed hose in the tank has split.
  15. So are you saying you got an electronic boost controlller to fix a boost leak?
  16. VL auto's have a removable bellhousing. Are you planning on loading the motor up?
  17. 3-400kw is a bit vague, which one is it? Cubes has over 300rwkw with 2inch intercooler piping, although its obviously not recomended
  18. I got mine through lewis engines, he is on the forum. Im pretty sure ti was cheaper than $280
  19. No, the stroker 2.9 will retain more value as the gearbox will still be in one piece compared to the rb30
  20. Ive had the extra meat welded on the water gallery on the two ive built. You should be able to have it done with minimal skimming of the head required. Any repco/autobarn can get the tensioner.
  21. Have you checked trouble codes? Im still betting on AFM, but the trouble code will tell you which one. you can pull the top off and resolder the afm
  22. I would try to see why its leaking first. You can probably pick up a second hand piece quite cheap. Isnt the filler neck metal? If so its very unlikely to be causing the problem
  23. I would replace the plugs and try again.
