  1. Make sure you clean the oil passage that goes through the block, as they are usually full of carbon.

  5. I can only imagine that the fact that the n1 pump flows more means that the gears are larger. Hence the amount of material at the drive surface would be thinner, and under more load. Does this seem logical?
  6. I cna only add that the valve guides are knowm to become brittle with age, and a dropped/broken guide will mostlikely cost you the motor.
  7. Interested in the greddy exhaust gauge. Im assuming its exhaust temp? Does it come with sender?
  8. It has been done heaps, nistune board with a daughter board adapter. Im pretty sure Dr drift does them too
  9. Either mx-5's or evo 10's have electronic vct, and its completely variable. I would be looking down that path rather than the on/off rb25 style.
  10. Interesting, as time based is what i have them set to, otherwise the coils melt at idle.
  11. BTW im basing that on evo's, im not sure how much difference the twin scroll housing makes. It will come down to how restrictive that exhaust housing is.
  12. A real td05h 20 g will pull around 260awkw. If your mate wants to cut corners, get the turbo, then get it locally balanced, fit some injectors and get the ecu remapped by mrc, done deal.
  13. My point was merely that to justify the price, it would have to have more features than a plug and play vipec which is cheaper
  14. No offense, but my shitty wolf 3dv4 has rev limit based on water temp, so does my 10 year old autronic. For $3000 i would want some pretty fancy bells and whistles inc plug and play.

  18. Except it is still double the recharge time(or less than half the discharge/cooling time than stock. AFAIcan remember the stock dwell is 2.2ms, and reduces slightly at idle
  19. Yes, i wonder if 2.5ms is too much when run in wasted spark?
  20. Guys i think thats enough. Im willing to bet 90% of you who are bagging him about his driving have never driven anything with anywhere near that power. If i were you, i would build a proper chassis/setup for drag, and then fit your engine, and tune it to perfection, you should see a 9
