IMO i would be running gas injection with twin injectors, it doesn't cost a great deal more, but drivability is far superior, and they have ignition control.
Simple, fit turbo(i would consider an r33 exhaust housing to bring it on a little sooner), fit some rb25det NEO injectors(ive got a set if you are interested) and take it to DR DRIFT, get him to remap the stock ecu to suit the turbo/injectors.
I would have a look on us ebay, there are plenty of water/air intercoolers for less than the cost of modding your own. I would imagine that the material thickness and design(ribbed end tanks) of the stock intercooler would make it very difficult to make it seal.
Funny isnt it, you make 600rwhp legally, yet there are many people on here who feel it is necessary to remove the cat to make 300rwhp. Who gives modified car owners a bad name?
If he only lost 7hp at that power level, there is no way it will effect midrange, throttle response or fuel economy, although i wouldn't be surprised if he lost a few db
NIce job, however there is no way it will flow better and be heaps cheaper than the china manifolds, you can get high mount china manifolds for under $200 from ebay, and plenty have made far more than 300rwkw with them which is the well known brick wall for the factory manifold.(on pump fuel)
But if you get pulled over by the rta, they can pick it, and all of the off the shelf "high quality"decat pipes are able to be picked by the cops. The only way to get around being picked by the cops is to have a pipe welded through the guts of a stock cat.
76.5 is the cracking temp of the thermostat, i would expect it to have an operating temp of 85 deg. The r32 and r33 temp sensors are different , and have different scaling, hence the high reading.
LOL at good quality decat pipe, its a piece of pipe with 2 flanges, what difference can there be in quality? Keeping the cat at home is no good when you get pulled over and fined for not having one"Officer, i just left it at home"
Can certainly be done, although an rb25 ecu doesn't have a ROM in it, you need to source a daughter board first which replaces the factory processor with 2 eeproms
Exactly my point, the stock fans pull more air than 99% thermos, so why fit such a "good" rediator, then have to downgrade the fan, and if a clutch fan wont pull air through it, what chance does a thermo have?
