  1. Timing retarded
  2. Really, noone has imported from china?
  3. Went for $11,700, as said even if it doesnt do 9's, still a good buy for the same sort of money as a stocker
  4. It will fit, just depends weather you need a spacer or not. When you have the turbo, try it on the manifold and you will soon know
  5. Do you have the turbo and thh manifold?
  6. Im looking at replacing a motor in one of my trucks, an iveco daily. New motor from iveco is about 15k, wheras buying one from china(where the iveco ones are made) is $5300 landed. Im 100% certain the motors are legit(Iveco parts have chinese labels in italian boxes). The other options are to rebuild the motor only for between $3-5000, or buy a chinese motor locally for around $8k, however the new motors come compete with new turbo, alternator, loom, injectors, pump etc I also dont really want the truck off the road for weeks whilst i rebuild it. Does anyone have any experience with importing these sort of things, what i may be facing in terms of import duty, and dramas that i may face
  7. I would guess that once you can show that it can be insured, finance will become less of a problem, as it becomes secured. Just getting an agreed value might be tricky.
  8. Thats basically what i have, a couple of iveco VCT turbos, i imagine porsche is using magic metal for the vanes. Im pretty sure the iveco(garrett) stuff is good for 550deg.
  9. i would either run rb20 cams, they suit hydraulic without vct. or refit vct, you should be able to put a fitting behind the inlet cam gear, and remote feed it.
  10. It made like 150rwkw at 3500 rpm, then 90rwkw by 5500
  11. VL dump wont fit, as vl manifold faces straight down, wheras rb25 manifold faces sideways. PS ive had a highflowed vl turbo on a 25/30 and it sucked, just get a real turbo
  12. TBH if they can get the exhaust vanes to hold together, then they are heaps better than anything available, hence why pretty much all diesel cars now have vnt's
  13. But just as illegal as an atmospheric one. IMO aftermarket bov's are like christmas, 99% marketing to seperate people from money
  14. Bearing for sure, hope your mate only lives at the other end of the drag strip.
  15. If they are serious about marketing these, once proven reliable, thy need to drop the price, and offer a much better range, especially higher pressure ratio compressor wheels(ie gtx wheels) unfortunately a gtx wheel wouldnt have a surge line that suits this.
  16. Seriously if the fuel rail is getting hot enough to cause it to have discolouring , then you have much bigger problems.
  17. A few years ago they had heaps of failures, and disappeared from the market, apparently the owner died. Im surprised they have made a comeback. Best suited to bikes running low boost (look at the comp maps). They cost about $5000
  18. The fact that one plug is black and you have a missfire, i would clean two plugs, swap the coils and see which one goes black then, im suspecting a dud coil
  19. I think the guy who did it ended up using an exhaust manifold pressure sensor and having the valve reference it to boost pressure. Basically he said you can make heaps of boost down low, but if the valves(s) are shut to make the boost, then the motor wont make any power. BTW it was all ecu controlled.
  20. Having just read a thread about tuning VCT turbos on a 1uz, you need to remember that when the valve is shut, it has a big effect on the Volumetric efficiency of the engine, fuelling and timing changes will be massive compared to when the valve is open
  21. Yes, it will have to be on the car, 1mm out at the flange will be cm's out at the engine pipe.
  22. There is a guy in the UK who fitted 2 of these to a 1uz, made 22psi at 1800rpm and went on to make 450rwkw, now that is area under the curve.
  23. BT50 pioneered Variable Geometry Turbochargers LOL IVECO designed it, and have been running it for 10 years. I have a few of these turbos. Basically the vanes wont handle over 550deg so diesel only. The new porsche 911T runs 2 of these, but the vanes are probably made of unobtainium. Im looking into e85 ex temps to see if it will work.
