  1. The pro's of shoulder surgery and medical certificates. Whats your excuse for sitting on your ass all day? And yes, i have made these plates before
  2. so you are willing to dismiss that way of mounting the gate because its on a big dollar big hp drag car yet you think it's 'dodgey' and not the best way to run the gate, i woulda thought the average joe with his street car would opt for the more pocket friendly option and the big dollar race team outfit who spends thousands on r&d and engine development would use the more expensive and best option available. maybe you should get in contact with the guys at heat treatments and let them know theres a better way of running the gate
  3. So are you also saying that the Full Race manifolds are of 'poor design' aswell?
  4. those cams and those revs are going to put alot of stress (read wear and tear) on ur valvetrain and other engine components. you really should look at atleast an annually tear down regime to keep everything in check and to avoid any catastrophic failures.
  5. One main thing to look at especially with the cheaper cam gears is what style of locking bolt is used and if it has enough meat to grab onto. I've seen some very dubious ones.
  6. You sir, are a f**king champion
  7. Cast or billet? For billet it costs between 10-15k for the 1st and 8-10k there after, depending if you want it to have the factory shape on the outside or not.
  8. Yes, very easily.
  9. Oh right, well i had one all designed up ready to be made over 12months ago, it's still on the to-do list, and seeing as i dont have a suitable car/engine to put it on i can't do any testing. Add to that it'd cost close to 2k with the spline drive gears. However if there were people interested then i'd look at getting it produced.
  10. bump - open to reasonable offers
  11. which billet ones are you refering to?
  12. yep, bit more than i guessed but hey
  13. yeh, the earls ones have a removeable gauze that u just pull out, wash and put back in
  14. yes you have to go to an earls style inline filter. They only cost about $30
  15. You have to use the GTR engine mounts, and you cant sit the engine lower as the diff will be sitting on the cross member.
  16. Sounds pretty much on the spot but i'd change a few things to be like this: -6 line from in tank pump to swirl pot -8 lines from swirl pot to 044's -8 lines out of 044's tee'd into a single -8 line that runs up the front and either tee's into two -6 lines feeding each end of rail, or keep the -8 going to one end of the rail -6 line from end of rail (or centre of rail, depends if u want twin rail feeds) to FPR -6 line from FPR back into swirl pot i'd look at using a bosch intank instead of the walbro
  17. ur misunderstanding it... any manifold you buy, even the std one, wont have the same shape in the port where it bolts to the head. By making the plenum (or manifold) port the same shape as the port in the head, this is called 'port matching'. You wont need a new plenum for your goal.
  18. with fineline's setup (i've spannered on it many a time ) the plenum and manifold are matched to the size of the ports in the head. his head having been ported by a cylinder head shop, is very different to the std or even a 'rough hand make the ports bigger job', so just port match them to the shape of the ports in the head.
  19. you'll more than likely encounter valve float with the std springs. get some aftermarket springs put in when u get the cams (some psi springs should be fine, about 300)
  20. Argo's, aussie made and about 1300 a set
  21. thats correct, i was just having a sly dig at paul
  22. billet rear cover u say paul, so a full billet housing must be pretty good then huh?
  23. nitrous kit and cobra seat sold
  24. with a hollinger... and special diffs... and an endless budget... realisticly you should budget atleast 70k to do it properly with a box and diffs etc and thats not including labour from a workshop
  25. just get a new throttle cable made up
