  1. i did melbourne to brisbane in 12 hours, that's an 1800km trip, so i suspect your car will be fine
  2. i'd just like to take this chance to announce on behalf of bryn (who's internet connection is currently down) that he is now out of the closet and looking for a partner! he's specified that his ideal candidate be 40+ as he feels he needs a sugar daddy to wine and dine him as he is sick of being used and abused. bryn would also like to request his new partner be well endowed (read 10 inches and over) as he's had a few bad experiences with men who can't quite pull his trigger, and after years of doing this behind closed doors is able to handle quite large amounts of man beaf. wrapping up now i'd just like to make mention that SAU is an equal oppertunity forum and that i don't think in this day and age that any of us should hold this against him, as he must already be feeling pretty akward after the ordeal of coming out. good luck bryn and on behalf of SAU we'd all like to wish you the best of luck in all your future man hunting endevours!
  3. i'm running acl race bearings, so far no hicups..
  4. haha good times.. i can't even remember signing up to that forum yet i'm listed there
  5. i'm also installing a greddy copy as we speak.. just can't decide weather to go to autobarn and shell out $120 for a tb converter or pick up a q45 style throttle body.. as for the coolant line to the turbo, i've run it around the front of the engine rb26 style.. a handy tip would be make sure you do all the plumbing between the aac valve and air regulator, as it's an incredible bitch to do once the manifold is on common sense would probably suggest this but ahh well, i'm special also, what are people doing about relocating the air feed for the aac valve and blow off valve? just fabricating a new pipe from intercooler to plenum?
  6. awsome no roll cage though?
  7. aha he's got a magna fellas *whore* but yeah, they're a generic thing, sometimes different lengths so you don't end up with a jungle of cable slack through your engine bay
  8. yeah, ended up jacking her up and throwing it on stands, undid the swaybar supports and jumped on the wheel for a while which got it out, then used a jack to lift the arm back up so i could position the strut and bolt it in... easy eh oh well, thanks for all the help guys, much appreciated
  9. So here the story goes. Got a set of coilovers today, got to work installing them. Front drivers side came out like a dream, took about 15 mins to replace. Moved over to the front passenger side, loosened all the nuts, thinking it was going to be a repeat occurance and fall right out like the last one but boy was i mistaken. This little bitch will not budge. I've tried jumping up and down on the wheel, somewhat levering it with a breaker bar but no hope. Is there some sort of trick to this? The front drivers side was taken out and replaced about a year ago, so I'm guessing this is why it was loose compared to the passengers side. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance, Mark
  10. drilling and tapping the holes take all of around 10 minutes at the most.. don't let a good nick series 1 bottom end turn you off, other than if you're seriouse have a read of the rb30 hybrid thread, it's stickied at the top of the forced induction index, well worth your while.
  11. i don't know how to search so could you define useless for me?
  12. spotted a silver 34 GT-t parked across the road from me when i was mowing the lawn last night...
  13. Wondering if anybody could confirm for me that the flange on the q45 style throttlebody is the same as that of an xf throttlebody. I've got a Greddy copy intake plenum that is apparently made to bolt the q45 onto, so I'm thinking for the setup I've got in mind (250kw atw) the xf would be a much cheaper alternative.
  14. jesus christ i went to bed at 4:30 pm and just woke up ready to go clubbing thinking it was about 7:00pm :|

    Rebirthed Gtr?

PARAGRAPHSWERENEVERMYTHINGBUTATLEASTIUSEDPUNCTUATION!!!!ONE!ONE!!! If I gave away the suburb in which the dealership was located it would become pretty obviouse, save to say I've never actually heard anything dodgy about this place before (although arn't all dealers dodgy ), anyway I'll suss it all completly when I get the chance just to make sure I'm not going to give somebody a bad name when they don't deserve it.. as for listing the actual name of the dealer I think it would last about 10 seconds before one of the mods decided to edit it out.

    Rebirthed Gtr?

it was a a real gtr, he was claiming that it was a conversion as i picked up on the vin plates saying that it was an r33 gts.. the vin plates don't match the car you don't need fast to know that a vin plate that says er33 rb25de doesn't belong to a GTR i'll check it out on fast later and post up the details when i can be bothered getting my laptop out of my car
  17. ^^
  18. So I've been having a look at a nice GTR lately at a pretty well known Brisbane import dealership.. Anyway I went back today and going over the usualy things, I checked the VIN Plate (As in the Japanese one that sits at the top of the drivers side fire wall) and low and behold, it reads ER33 RB25DE.. I thought for a moment how stupid of myself to not realise that it was a conversion and pointed it out to the salesman who was with me, and looking a bit flustered he told me that yes, it was infact a conversion. Looking over the car to see how complete this apparent conversion was in all the tell tail spots (bit's of intereior, weld marks where the rear quaters have been attatched, aluminium panels) and realised that this wasn't a conversion, it was the real deal. Going back to the engine bay, I noticed that the screws that hold the Japanese vin plate to the wall, the ones that are meant to be tamper proof were overly loose.. The Australian Vin plate had been riveted into the firewall partially covering the original VIN that is engraved into the firewall so it couldn't be read properly. The story that the dealer gave me was that it was a used trade in that some chic had bought back in 2000, and she'd traded it in for an r34 GT-t, and they had no idea about the conversion. Given the fact that this guy knew his way around the car very well, there was no way that he could've not noticed that it wasn't a conversion, which leads me to two possible scenarios. Either the car has been stolen in Australia and rebirthed using a cheap possibly wrecked but not listed as being wrecked r33 GTS and used the VIN and Australian VIN plates to rebirth it, or it has been imported dogily, perhaps as a race only then had the plates put on it and sold as a road registered GTR to a massive profit of whoever had imported it in the first place.. Let me hear your oppinions on the situation Cheers guys, Mark.
