rb25/30 14:1 comp ratio (I'm sure you can find an RB piston that would give you close to that:) Methanol New bearings, some sexy ARP rod bolts Ross balancer 9000rpm pl+11ty of ignition it would probably last for a while if you didn't thrash the guts out of it.. it would be different and make for some very good times

Hey guys, The wheels on my 34 gtr were painted the wrong colour by the previous owner.. Just curious as to what I should use to strip them off with as I don't want to really damate the metal. I'm thinking paint stripper over getting them bead blasted as I've been told this can cause pitting in them. Also what people recommend for the actual painting process, the usual 2pac paint or get them powder coated. I want to get them painted back to the original bronze colour Thanks alot for your time Mark

qld A Few R34 Gtr Parts For Sale
aphid replied to GTRNUR's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Exactly my reason for buying these Nice doing business! If anybody is interested I do now have for sale a pair of pretty mint non-xenon r34 gtr headlights -
Are you sure it's not the Blow off valve? When you're on the gas heading to a set of lights, and the light goes red, you push the clutch in and get off the gas onto the brake. The blow off valve opens up and lets out air that the AFM has already measured as being in the system, so the ECU is still injecting gas into the engine, making it run extremely rich and causing the stalling issues as you've said. AFM reversion can also cause similar symptoms. The flutter you may hear when the BOV sounds is actually air flowing back out through the compressor, flowing the wrong way through the AFM. This upsets the AFM readings and can lead to the same stalling issue. My 2cents anyway, best of luck with it!

Recalibrating R32 Gtr Afm’s To Nismo Specs?
aphid replied to Sydneyactionman's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
But as Paul already suggested, why not upgrade to the rb20/rb25 item? They're both cheap as chips, and the physical size of the pipe is larger than the rb26 ones, making them a better and also cheaper option There is a slight difference between series 1 and series 2 r33 items though, you want to get the series 1 (or r32 rb20) as it has the same plug as the rb26 If you're running a PowerFC, the VC maps are actually included already, so no messy/costly tuning!! -
thanks alot for the info!

Hey guys, Does anybody know if the rb26 out of the r34 GTR came with an oil restrictor in the back of the block as standard? Cheers
-
Where abouts can you get them from 3.5k in Australia?? Genuine question, not being smart
-
As another comparison I measured 3.7 seconds 0-100 also with an apexi RSM in my r34.. At the time it had a t04z running 19psi and was in dire need of new tires, with all tests conducted on a nice backroad

Laptops With Serial Ports For Tuning Pfc Etc .
aphid replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The only problem for us "network techs" is our higher ups in charge of budgeting struggle to understand why they can't save $100 in buying laptops without serial ports and make us use half assed serial to usb convertors that only work half the time anyway, and then can't understand why they're losing thousands of dollars in downtime when upgrades/cuttovers don't go as planned -
There is alot of misinformation in this thread already, so I wouldn't be listening too much to what has been said... It's probably best to head to the NICO forums VH section -> http://forums.nicoclub.com/zeroforum?id=193 It's the bible

Hey guys, I have for sale the stock turbo's from my r34 GTR. They have a BB CHRA and come in used condition, one of the turbo's spins slightly easier than the other. I'm chasing $500 for the both of them, which is pretty cheap compared to others I've seen go for $900+. If people genuinely require pics then shoot me a pm, but I'm sure most serious buyers would know what they look like I'm located on the Brisbane north side, about 5 mins from the city. Cheers & Thanks for your time, Mark

Yeah for sure mate, I just need to put the engine back in haha... I got bored and ripped out out on the weekend to do some cleaning, never ripped an engine out of a GTR before, didn't realise how much was involved so I got over putting it back in pretty quickly, resorted to driving the GF's car for the week When is the next meet going to be on out of curiosity?

I'm at Kelvin Grove but I do work a fair bit around the Toowong area.. I have a blue 34, has nsw numberplates because I like to keep it mixed up If I pass another skyline I always give it a wave but 4/5 times they'll just give me a dirty look back Chances are I've probably seen some of you around anyway... keen to meet up for dinner/beers/whatnot if it happens

Cheers mate, I'll try that thisarvo

Hey guys, Just a quick call for oppinions on a little something The other night I took the old girl for a spin and tune. She's an r34 GTR with a highmount t04z, 700cc injectors & power fc. I use my laptop to tune with an FC Datalogit & exhaust temp meter just for the moment till I get another wideband to measure the afrs. Anyway, I was brake boosting along and did have a little bit of a knock, registered at around 60 on the power fc knock meter. I didn't think much of it till later on in the eventing when I was brake boosting again throwing a little more ignition on and I hear a tapping coming from the engine bay. A quick diagnoses by myself, it felt related to actual cylinder pressure, in that it would really only come on at around 2200rpm before it either dissapeared by 3200 or was drowned out by engine noise, but would seemingly increase in intensity related to boost. The noise itself was pretty mechanical, it sounded like a VERY noisy rocker, so straight away I thought oh god I've spun a bearing. Anyway, flash forward to yesterday, I'm half way through pulling the engine out when I decided to call it a night. I returned thismorning to my parents (where I'm pulling it apart) and began work again. I went to detach the exhaust off the back of the turbo (high mount V band t04z) and noticed that it was actually missing two bolts out of the T4 flange where it bolts onto the exhaust manifold.... Now this has me wondering, surely I would've been able to diagnose a f**king exhaust leak, with the amount of play the turbo had it would have been making ridicioulus amounts of noise on idle and struggled to boost at all.. The cynic in me is thinking that somebody has had a go at pulling the turbo off as I just had the car parked behind the house with the bonnet up all night (it's a pretty good area) as there is no way I couldn't have noticed an exhaust leak that big, but there is still a part of me that wonders if I was stupid enough to misdiagnose the problem This definantly souded like a bearing, what is your oppinion? Thanks for your time

I Found My Self A Nur :o!
aphid replied to Winston_Lang's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
meh r34 gtr is old hat, bring on the r35!! just kidding mate, looks awesome, i'm jealous! i might just carve a hole in my bonnet and slap a nur sticker on the back of mine -
Yeah, the rb30 waterpump is different to the RB25 & RB26.. I tried using the rb25 pump during my rb30 conversion and there is one bolt that doesn't line up, as suggested above. I would think it would be better to go with the proper option, but if you're desperate I guess you could try bogging it up with extra sealent, seems like the ghetto option to me though

The firmware on the stock ECCS ecu can also be reprogrammed to use only the MAP sensor, or to replace the afms with MAP sensors.. if you're keen
-
Are you sure the cars you've seen them on arn't dedicated drag cars?

I bought my r34 GTR with 15k in receipts from Advan in Sydney with enough juice to theoretically see upwards 450kw atw (if and when i decide to build the engine to handle it ... I thought the price was a little steep but the work was definently top notch.. It came with the power fc, garrett t04z, all earls braided fittings for the oil & water lines, HKS wastegate, 7boost manifold, 750cc injectors, custom cold air intake & tune.. Perhaps you could give them a call to give you a ball park quote then compare that with the quote this other workshop has given you?
