  1. ok, im awake and here are some more pics...
  2. thanx for the compliment, as soon as i get up in the morning i'll post a few more pics. im quite happy with these eyelids, but i will have about 4 different types for people to choose from. i knew these latest ones would be the most popular so i cut 5 pairs at work today in case i stuffed a pair or whatever. the pair in the photo where made from 0.6mm colourbond metal (rustproof i think) sprayed with etch primer rustproof paint, 2 coats, then 3 coats of primer putty to get out any discrepencies, lightly sanded then 3 coats of gloss black followed by one smooth coat of clear laquer, looks professional i reckon. only problem is i temporarily fastened it with double sided tape so i could post the pictures. in the morning i'll fasten them down with silicon, that way they'll be secure, but if i decide to remove them one day the silicon will be easy enough to remove with a scraper or just by pealing it off without any damage to the headlight. i will be selling these eyelids, probably prepared with everything i mentioned above excluding the paint and the laquer, that way all you'll have to do is spray them according to the colour of your car, and gluing them down in whatever way you want... havent come up with a price as yet, i'll get back to you on that. thanx for all your input guys, really appreciated. if you have any other ideas on designs for eyelids for the r33 series 1 let me know ([email protected]) or if you want eyelids for any other car let me know, only problem is i'll need at least the outline of the top of the headlight, if you know what i mean. the way i designed these eyelids was trial and error (cut 1, run to the car, check it, alter it, ran back to the computer, redesigned it, cut it, tried again) or if theres anything you need laser cut also let me know, i have a post in the sau classifieds on laser cut jobs, go there for more info...
  3. here it is... i think it looks better
  4. eyelids are finished but my battries in the camera have died, gotta re charge them
  5. yeah i am, dont have an air compressor. krawler, those eyelids look mad
  6. theyre actually my spot lights, i rewired my parkers to be my indicators, they change 7 colors, from autobarn. matrix lights. i have made the new ones more angular and they look awesome, just waiting for the paint to dry, then i'll post pics
  7. i just finished the other one, here are the pics looks alright i reckon. i know it looks hard to see
  8. ok here it is, i rushed alot and only did the left one as i accidently sprayed the wrong side of the right eyelid, rushing. feedback please as you can notice, its already dark outside but i wanted to see what you guys thought
  9. i spent all day redesigning the eyelids, dont worry, still have the original ones on file, but i copied the look redlinegtr showed me. i just got home, gonna spray them now, and hopefully they dry before dark so i can post a pic of them i'll make a whole bunch of different designs, better than working, this way im getting paid to do shit to my skyline. by the way, the money sux. and i cant wait to get out of there and into IT, but at least ive made the most of it. ive been cutting stuff for my car for years, stereo brackets, fog light brackets, whatever, whenever i want. thats about the only good thing about it
  10. RedLineGTR: you got a pic of that white skyline from the front?? just wanted to see what it looks like
  11. that shouldnt be a problem. looks easier, only problem is i need the car here at work or at least the headlight to work off, or a stencil/trace of the original eyelid. im currently working on the yelid that redlinegtr mentioned, the one that curves all the way round the headlight. im almost finished. as soon as i get home i'll spray it, put it on my car and take a photo to show you guys. hope i can finish it, to man6y bosses walking around today, hehe
  12. you got a pick i can go off
  13. excellent. i'll work on them tomorrow some more. then i'll get back to all of you with an update
  14. i get what you mean. havent seen them like that before, but it would take me 2 mins to alter it like that, might make a few different sets, see what people think/like... the bigger the size you can post the better so i can zoom in close. Let me drive: i wont be able to paint them for you, as i dont have access to paints that will match your car, but as soon as i have perfected it i might put them in the for sales section, in bare metal. then you can apint them yourself thanx alot for all your feedback, but more is appreciated and pics too. one more thing: if anybody actually has proper eyelids and can be bothered, could you pls trace the outline of the eyelids so i can get an exact eyelid shape to go off.
  15. heres 2 photos of 2 different types that i have. one is straight.
  16. thanx, but does it need to be changed in any way?? any suggestions?? cos im not sure, something doesnt look right... i cant find any decent pics of r33's with eyelids, if anyone has any pls post them. need more feedback
  17. hi guys, for a while now i've wanted eyelids for my r33, but didnt want to fork out the cash. I work as a laser operator and i can cut what ever i need which is great, today i was bored so i decided to see if i could cut some eyelids for my car. i worked on it here and there all day, and finally came up with something, i dont think they look too bad, but i want opinions and advice from you guys. it's been cut out of 0.6mm steel so its flexible to bend around the headlight. i've only made 1 so far to see how it would look, got home, sprayed in a gloss black to roughly match the car to get to see what it would look like. i'll make more of an effort once i have the final product and shape perfected. anyway, let me know what you's think
