  1. Ok thanks Cubes, ill have a play with it and try and sort it out. God i hate these stupid problems.
  2. Well i tried using the looms earth and still no good. Does anyone know where the standard fuel pump relay is for the R32. Thanks
  3. Ok ill try that first thing tomorrow, i just earthed the relay straight to the body.
  4. Sorry forgot to mention mine is a 32. I just cut the standard wire that runs to the pump and used that to trigger the relay.
  5. I just wired up a relay this afternoon and all was going fine untill i turned the car off, now the turbo timer will not keep the car running but the ignition stays on but the car just stops. If i put the wires back to standard its fine, i tried using another relay but get the same result. Everything was wired up right 30. 12v battery fused 85. earth 86. fuel pump trigger 87. fuel pump Any ideas on what could be going wrong? Does anyone know where the factory pump relay is. Thanks.
  6. I had to get rid of the fog lights too, just no room for them.
  7. Grab the s13 power steering filler bottle thing too as it only has one hose outlet on it, i just clamped a bolt onto the unused outlet for now until i get one. Ive mucked around a fair bit with the wolf to get my idle, cold/hot start sorted out and the car is behaving perfect now, so its just 8 days away from dyno tuning. I did drive it to get the aircon regassed, gave it a few half throttle hits and it had 7-8psi by about 2600rpm, on the freeway where i had space to play it was seeing 15psi just over 3000rpm but under load it just started to ping so i took it easy from then on. As my wastegate has a 1 bar spring thats the boost ill be using, as long as i can control myself not to wind it up with the ebc.
  8. I was lucky and picked mine up through a mate who has a mate that runs a import place, lol. I dont think they know about the engine being able to mate up with the RB30 either and im gonna keep my mouth shut. Picked up my motor with all accesories flywheel and clutch for $495, not bad hey.
  9. Yeah me too, not far away now. By the way thanks for the info you provided for me.
  10. Grab a multimeter and check the impendence on the rb25 injectors, just put it on ohms and put it on the injector pins.
  11. Are you taking out all the old hicas and pipes? There is so much more room to get to the oil filter with it gone. I took the back off the power steering pump and removed the fins and put it back together, then just blocked the rear outlet. The steering feels great, maybe a touch heavier than before but im happy with it. I havent had the car tuned yet but ive played around with the tune a bit to get it not to stall while stopping, cold/hot start, and stuff like that which should have already been done. It feels like it has so much more torque than the RB20. I ended up getting a R32 RB25DE (non vct) and with the GT3071R i plan to run 15psi, i left the compression standard and the only thing i did was put the cams out of the old motor(RB20DET) in it. Ill let you know how it goes once tuned (booked in for the 13th), good luck with it.
  12. Hi there, ive actually just put a RB25DE, +T into my R32 and removed all the hicas and fitted a lock bar. You said you put a spacer on the rack, just wondering what it was for?
  13. If you wanted you could file the offset locater pin off the injector so the plugs will fit, or slice a slot in the top of the plug to accept the pin on injector, but i think thats starting to get a bit rough lol, better off with new plugs.
  14. Take a injector down to repco, they should have new plugs to fit them then solder the new plugs on. i changed all the plugs on mine when i did the upgrade and i think the new plugs were about $35 for all 6

  17. Bottom end is complete but one piston is stuffed, could probally give no.1 a hone and throw a standard piston in it and it will be ok. The head is good but i took the cams out for my other motor. There are a few bits and pieces like inlet manifold, clutch fan, ac, and stuff like that left over. I plan to throw it all out in two weeks so if you want it, come and get it before then and its yours.
  18. no it wont fit
  19. There is a filler plug on the side of the gearbox or you can poor it through the shifter if you take it out
  20. The first time i done injectors i didnt even take off the throttle body, the second time i did and it was much easier. If you are only taking off the top half of the manifold to do the injectors i wouldnt bother and just take off the throttle body as it gives you plenty of room.
  21. Isnt there a inline fuse near the injector plugs on the RB20 loom, cant hurt to check that.
  22. Cool thanks for the info, ill see how i go on low boost for a while then see how the wallet is looking for more upgrades
  23. Ok cool, would it be worth using the rb20det springs as well or just leave the 25na ones in it?
  24. Nah i havent, i did notice on the last power run it was starting to roll out a cloud of smoke but didnt think to much of it at the time. A week or so later i saw it was blowing a heap of oil out the dipstick so i let it sit in the garage for a while. Recently i did a comp test and found no.2-6 were at 125psi but no.1 was only at 75psi. Lifted the head and no.1 bore was glazed up and there were detonation marks on the top side of the piston (melted). (Whoops accidently mis set the boost on the dyno and ran 30psi for a sec or two) I decided to ditch the 20 for now and picked up a cheap R32 RB25de which i should have back in soon, i plan to run it at 15psi and see how it goes, if bad RB30DET here i come.
