  1. From my reading the threads over the last few weeks and elsewhere: Royal Purple Oil would be at or near he top for racing/high perfomance driving and would tend to be changed frequently. For Normal city Highway driving and extended oil changes BP Visco 5000 at about 60% of the price would be better/ a more sensible choice. I will probably do 10,000km oil changes with BP Visco 10w 30w depending on the type of driving and feed back here for an M35 series 1 Stagea. if money was no object then Amsoil would work in both situations but tends to be double the price of BP Visco 5000. On the basis of price I wont be using Amsoil . I realise if I use the best I will be keeping my engine in better nick but I think that has been discussed in other threads. I dont want to go down that path in this thread. I know I wont get a definite answer but is this fairly close to correct.
  2. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. Just imagine if you were fined under sec 49 sub section 3 of the Trade practises Act and claimed you didnt know about it , expecting to get off. Good luck on that one.
  3. I have contacted several LPG conversion places in Brisbane but cannot assess their abilities. I need some recommendations. Has anyone had conversions out there with either good or bad stories, in particular Direct Injection , though if you have had an SVI conversion please jump in. Cars skyline gts Stagea axis autech Should you disagree with with LPG you are happy to start your own thread on the topic
  4. I am pretty sure the points carry over when I got pulled over last year in nsw on a qld liscense. Do you think the bureacracy will just forget you if you forget them? gutsy move !
  5. Wizard Auto Repair Clinic 240 Moggil Road, Indooroopilly, QLD 4068 havent used them but they have been there 2 decades and always have a huge number of very expensive european cars being repaired. i will use them in a few months
  6. How many camels can you get for a new wife?
  7. Motul seems to be the preferred oil?I am curious to hear what others have to say about Castrol Edge. Where does it fit in when comparing synthetics (10-30w). what is the going price for Motul 8100 X-CESS
  8. Sory of my post was unclear Moodles I used a GTS-T as I thought it would get the most responses . I have a stagea M35,and not many of those around My Stagea M35b is a turbo (206k) My GTS Skyline is a non turbo I am seeking information to ascertain if its a good investment to use a NISTUNE or a waste of money on non modified cars . I would see 10 kw as a significant jump thanks for th equick replies . I have learnt a lot for your 2 posts
  9. Great CONCISE ANSWER MOODLES2. Everything is very clear. For normal city and Highway driving it sounds like for an unmodified car the modification of the ECU by attaching a Nistune piece of hardware would be of little or no benefit. if this is a wrong assumption then what statistical benefit are we talking about? Can somone Show me the numbers for a base skyline 2500cc non turbo skyline
  10. I also have a nissan turbo. So just to confirm your opinion. For a non turbo its a waste but for a standard GTS -T ( no modifications )it a performance tune by Nistune would be a lot better( than say gong to ultratune). What does more efficient mean in terms of actual on the ground figures?Still have no concept.
  11. With a stock standard non turbo skyline 2500 cc, used as a daily with no intention to modify what measurable performance differences are we talking about? I have no concept whatsoever eg 3% or 5% or 20% improvement in acceleration times? 2. More torque at lower speeds? 3. Better fuel economy eg 1 % or 5% or 10%? I am a bit lost on this topic and a complete novice, even after reading through this thread . the Nistune site wasnt helpful.. Am I buying some Nistune hardware for a few hundred dollars to be installed in my car to allow a Nistune operator to achieve this better tune ? If so does this allow future tunes to be done with minimal labor and save the dollars? What is the difference between a high performance tune and a normal tune by a mechanic that is good at his or her craft? if the former then wont that mean daily driving around town will result in poor fuel economy but excellent highway economy?
  12. I bought a band expander from jaycar but there is too much static. Where is Brisbane can I purchase a better quality one and what price should I expect for installation. It also crossed my mind to go to a wrecker for a radio /Cd unit but at least I know my radio/ cd has not been exposed to the elements and it works fine. Are these cd/radios tested by the wreckers or is it just port luck if it works? In the 2002 stagea is the radio a separate unit from the cd unit? Would the cost of installing the band expander be any less expensive than installing a CD/radio from a wrecker?
  13. The R32 Skyline manual I saw some time ago from JPNZ was pretty damn good.I am not a mechanic but it is obvious once you see the manual that it is of a high standard and very profesional. Cant comment about missing pages but sounds like a communication problem between the 2 parties to me. It Is easy to be critical of JPNZ without supporting documentation. Throw enough mud and some will stick. I would be confident to buy from JPNZ from the material I have seen. its hard enough to know on the Internet who is and who isnt reputable. I hope this helps reduce the misinformatiion.

    Living In Japan

Let me start by saying Japan is a a great place for an interesting challenging and rewarding holiday. The people in the streets are magnificent. Amayama a few posts up is no doubt correct in his experience but its not the norm from my 13 years. I have taught judges lawyers pilots and so called very advanced students at Universities and there demands are little more than lower high school. Perhaps Tokyo is very different to western Japan cities. I met a student from, Waseda and his memorization skills were phenomenal In my estimation ,it sounds like you will miss out as there would be little if any advantage to hire you when a native English speaker could do better.Getting by isn't much if you want to be a teacher. The Asian face is not the novelty , it is the western foreigner. If you were blond and female then you just went to the next level. I know many foreigners who have bought apartments and houses but its bad investment, you wont know or understand the Body corp and you will easily be ripped off. These people are permanent residents with Japanese wives and families to assist them Where ever you buy you will never get the equivalent of a 2 bedroom apartment that you think of here. Don't get me wrong there are nice apartments with astronomical prices for what you get, but the design and room sizes are quite different, with poor workmanship. Buildings are designed for The short term not long term . If you don't live in Japan then don't even dream of buying a place, Getting a loan without the Japanese connection wont happen and no Australian Bank will give you a loan. Now for the negative things ......................
  17. The problem I doubt very much is not in the cluster as it was replaced as mentioned but still had problems, so The original cluster was put back. just returned from a 1000k trip and at highway speed the speedo and odometer are fine but tacho is noy wherer it should be . At low speeds usually nothing works. if it isn't the cluster what are my options?
  18. 1996 gtts skyline The instrument cluster has the tacho all over the place from zero to 9000, the speedo and odometer sometimes work, usually when i hit around 80 90km/hr and I press the reset ,of the odometer. The cluster was replaced by a mechanic but it gave similar results with the speedo showing in accurate speeds and the tacho not working so I had the originsal put back. The mechanic then thought the cluster was probably ok but narroweed the problem to another aspect of the car ( cant recall if it was near the transmission or not but he was referring to some particulr part). I was short of time and am now in a different state sio cant follow through . What might be th e problem. My reason fro posting is that it seems to be getting worse
  19. Does a 1996 skyline gts 4 door sedan ( non turbo) use a petrol system that utilizes electronic sequential injection ? I beliebe this is a requirement if I want to run liquid injection LPG. Any comments on LPG appreciated, except from the flat earth society.
  20. Hey Manwhore, I am ito looking at LPG in a stagea very seriously.Do you have sequential vapour Injection or liquid injection with your LPG set up? Were you able to get a donut tank to fit the rear wheel area? They hold a few hundred km but for my application thats ok. SVI uses about 15% or a little more from my research but how I read your post suggests its alot more for the stagea, or am I inferring too much. Liquid Injection is the way to go but it seems to me many installers are comfortable with SVI and perhaps dont have the skills to install Liquid injection. What figures per 100Km or $ per km do you have when you run petrol and when you run LPG. Relating how much you get per tank isnt so informative so a specfic figure would be great. look at the flippant remarks by others about LPG as they will no doubt have done a lot of research into it
  21. Yes in Brissy mate. Comments I have received seem to rate the falken 452just over the federal over the KU31. Is that a fair commment. I have usually run Potenza but just not economical at the prices they are sellinfg at .So now I am trading off safety a little bit for mileage .I was very disappointed with michellan Pilot precedes as they wore out real quick

Lock yourself in a class room for 40 minutes with people who cant understand what your talking about in English for 10 lessons a day 6 days a week and see how long you last with happy approval of the company owner. You dont need a degree you only need to show Immigation you have enough income to support yourself.Your comment is quuite out of date. Having said that at least 95% of western forgeiners have a degree and virtually all permanent western foregin residents will have a degree and at least on job at a university ,high school or vocational school. . All the posts about how difficulit it is to get a job and the discrimiation are pretty much right. All long term teachers are alcholics I wouldnt say you are teaching english, its more like having a structured chat with a 4 to 8 year old year old, in many cases, with the aim of trying to get several linked sentances together.......not rocket science but there are planty of bad teachers out there and the market is very tight.

No training needed for english schools but how clear is your english? Universities are now commonly requiring a masters degree in anything but favouring English. You could get a cultural visa and study kendo or judo. Your biggest problem will be getting a place to live. without a guarantor you will have jack shit of getting a place. sharing is possible but dont count on it
  24. Hello julius . Thanks for the advice . The japanese web site has 91 w for the stagea Axis autech http://www.autech.co.jp/HISTORY-SV/M35S01/eq.html if I decipher it correctly. Where does your 97w come from as I cant locate any 225 45 18 tyres with a 97w rating
  25. Could someone indicate which measurement must be within the 3% variance , in the quoted post? Is the rim width on the M35 Axis Autech 7.5inch or larger ? I need to know what tyre size will be acceptable when I go through compliance as I wont be around when it happens . Has anyone tried the Toyo Teo plus for 235 40 18? What new recommendations to Axis owners have for replacing the standard size 225 45 18 tyre or are you content with that size What normal profile choice do I have if i don't proceed with a low profile tyre? Thanks in advance
